  1. Try taking out the firing pin if you can.
  2. Stock is 18. I've gone back to it and my gun is more accurate with it.
  3. I scored Dark Side gun #2 today and will put on the LOK Blue/Grey grips to tell them apart. Of course I could always say gun 1 has the red trigger! I really like this gun. I found the insertion issue with the newer Canik, not MecGar, mags. Did a little filing with a straight diamond file on the front right lip when looking at it from the back and all are now 100%. I'll probably do some polishing on the FPB plunger too just to make sure. It fired all ammo run through it tonight. Gun 2 (on top) had 840 rounds through it. Now 950.
  4. Wow! I thought the Shadow 2 was heavy at 47-48oz before the optic!!!! Where do you attach the sling?? Haha just kidding.
  5. Try the Canik Steel Frame or the Walther PDP with the weight kit from Taylor Freelance. The PDP weighted magwell will work great in Limited Optics or IDPA ESP. The Springfield 5.25 Elite is good too.
  6. For comparison of "like" firearms, I looked at my Walther PDPs. They do not have the channel. My S has the channel and it is from the early second run and it has been 100%. My S now sits dormant as I have moved on to a different all-metal platform.
  7. Chris, Sorry to hear about this issue! With all of the apparent problems and band-aid solutions, I sent an email in to Canik asking for an explanation of the SKU change. This tells me they have a problem and are trying to fix it. Here's the body of my email. "With the change to the SKU number, are the older S models being replaced? With all of the issues being reported on the web, I'm not running this gun in competition because of reported failures at matches. I bought this gun to run in competition; it's intended purpose. Please advise to what is being changed on the new SKU." I doubt they will respond. I hope you can find a spring to get your gun running again. Maybe a spring from another platform?
  8. Here's the recipe. Reduced recoil spring/reduce the striker spring.
  9. I have the Henning "new" style for the insertion prob and it fits my USPSA gauge. 141.25mm on the dot.

Weapon knows his stuff and we all will miss his wisdom. I hope he shows up here.

Nope. I deleted it from my favorites. There was a lot of product bashing going on so I'm not surprised at this outcome.
  12. I know I'm not having any issues with my S and MC9 but I have gravitated to shooting my Walther stable a lot more. It's to the point I'm leaving them home when I go to the range. It's sad.
  13. They go together like the Walther Q5 Steel gun grips. Very nicely done. I added front strap tape too and the gun now feels solid in the hand.
  14. A little thicker and 3x grippier.
  15. Just installed and they are super grippy! Can't wait to run the gun in this Florida sauna!!
  16. I received the 2 Canik mags (MecGar) and they do not exhibit the slide locking up when forcefully pushed up from the bottom. If Canik did take over the manufacturing of the mags then they got the mag catch hole in the wrong place. That's my take on this whole mess. I could be wrong but all of these bandaids point to the catch hole.
  17. Thanks!! I haven't had any of these issues with MecGar Canik or MecGar P226 modified mags. Found some MecGar Caniks on Mag Shack and ordered 2. I have the new Henning basepad ready to install and I believe with the other MecGar mags I have, shouldn't be an issue. IMHO, I'll point the finger at Canik for these "issues". This is like Glock Beta testing, right?!

The last time this happened they changed the look of the website. This time I'm as perplexed as you!
  19. Are you guys using a reduced striker spring? I'm able to run a 13lbs recoil spring with a 6.0 striker spring. I do not have an optic on the pistol.
  20. My "slide jam" issue is the MBX followers sticking up too far and hitting the feed ramp keeping the slide from moving forward when the mag is empty in dry fire. Loaded they are fine at the range.
  21. I saw your pic a few responses up in the thread. How much did you take off for the mag to properly function? Or was it a file, insert for function, repeat process until it worked? This is an easy solution.
