  1. Rival-S is here and some of my factory ammo is not passing the plunk test. Not happy with this but I'll send the barrel in to Patriot and have it reamed. My TP9 SFX is good to go with everything I have. I sent an email to Canik about the shorter throats on the Rival and Rival-S barrels. I don't expect them to really answer my question but it made me feel good!
  2. This was so easy to find......... from the Canik Rival. The page is the same for the S.
  3. Hopefully he chimes in and sets the record straight!
  4. Page 21 of the Rival-S manual has all of the plates with sight interfaces. I'm sure the poly Rival and any other optic ready pistol manuals will have the information.
  5. I was measuring the take up to the wall, not the complete stroke to fire on both guns. I was measuring reset from the full trigger pull to where the trigger reset moving forward.
  6. My FS Zombie Pro showed up and I finished the installation. The FS ZP takeup is 2.64mm and the reset is 2.30mm. This will work! I like the recessed sides rather than the large flat area of the stock trigger.
  7. That S&B 124g ammo is cruising at 1200fps. It would even flip on me no matter the gun!
  8. Copy. I gave them both my SFX and Rival S numbers.
  9. Ran another 150 rounds of assorted ammo and bullet profiles today. It ate everything, round nose, truncated 135 and 147s, Xtreme HPs, including Federal 150g.
  10. I checked my DS Steel takeup and reset. Mine is 5.5mm and 4mm. My TP9 SFX with a FS Zombie Pro trigger is 4.5mm and 2mm. I sent an email in to FS about which trigger will net the same result in the DS Steel as the SFX. Looking forward to your results!
  11. It will be interesting to hear what you think of the comparison! Use the same ammo so it's a really good side by side run. Some say it's too heavy and when I shot my TP9 SFX side by side to the Rival Steel, give me steel/weight everyday. But then again, I prefer a gun in the 41-43oz range. I put the small grip back on because I was able to hit the mag release better with it. For me, the "Arch" Rival likes 124-125g projectiles.
  12. I used a half moon and flat wood file. The half moon did most of the work. https://imgur.com/a/cFKYmV3 This is from one of the firsts posts in this thread.
  13. For those of you who have both the poly and steel Rivals, are the barrels interchangeable? I watched a video where the poly Rival slide was placed on the steel frame and it worked. Thanks.
  14. Classic Firearms website has the price listed for the Dark Side, in stock now!
  15. Great news!!! I'll let mine break in a bit more before I try 24 rounds. Thanks for the update.
  16. I was curious and was able to load 24 into my mag with MBX spring/follower and the TF alum extension. Super tight and I didn't want to put it in the gun. 23 for me is good enough.
  17. That is a thing!! I load 15 rounds in and "mash the gas" 8-10 times before loading up to capacity. It helps the bullets to align and the spring to settle. I even do it in my PCC mags.
  18. So maybe the TF is a little thicker on the bottom, hmmm. I think these "issues" we are seeing now will go away as the guns break in. If these work in the polys there is hope. Thanks for the info WildPete!
  19. I know all about that!! It really comes down to counting your rounds/where will I reload. I really get the extra round but if it could possibly damage the gun it's not worth the squeeze.
  20. So it's unreliable in the steel frame trying to load 24. Why not settle for 23+1 and call it a day?
