  1. Without multiple angles and high definition equipment it would be very difficult to have the correct view to make the right decision. Then you have a problem with the time it will consume with review and reshoots if the DQ is overturned. In my opinion it we don't have the financial ability to do it correctly. Then there is the problem of where do you keep the red flag on your belt. Just kidding
  2. I feel somewhat the same way with USPSA vs IPSC. USPSA is a track meet with accuracy being secondary. IPSC stages tend to be more technical requiring accuracy more than USPSA matches. The most recognized top shooters are the Bianchi Cup shooters. That is first and foremost accuracy. I certainly would take the same position as GAPDA if I was told if I didn't like it there is the door.
  3. I have talked at length with several of the top rifle smiths regarding barrel break in. They were all of the opinion that is is un necessary to break in a barrel other than normal shooting. They said more barrels are ruined by cleaning to much vs just shooting. I have quit breaking in barrels the old way of shooting one and clean for the first 10-20 rounds and then 10 rounds and clean etc. I now just shoot them and clean only when necessary. I never clean pistol barrels and they all are as accurate as they have always been.
  4. The break in for my AR barrels = shoot them.
  5. I originally did it so I didn't have to pick up brass. With the new powders on the market it is much easier to load major power factor loads. My 9 mm shoots flatter than the super and is softer on my hands.
  6. The matches at Ancient City in St Augustine and Gainesville Gun Club are run by the Florida Defensive Carbine Association. They are two gun matches rifle and pistol. They use to have matches every Sunday and still may. Hope this helps.
  7. I have a comp on the way from Eric for my new build. I am building a 9 mm Major pistol. I prefer the 9 mm over the 38 SC. Switched to 9 mm about 4 or 5 years ago.
  8. I wear Solomon Speed Cross 3 s. Excellent shoe for shooting. Work great on wet or dry ground. Like any cleated shoe you need to be careful if you have to stand on wet wood like a suspended platform. They hold up extremely well.
  9. TacSol barrels are not compensated. If you want a comp you need to order a threaded TS barrel and screw the comp on. The Model 41 is an excellent SC gun. . I have two 41s with Clark 5.5 " STC barrels that are excellent steel guns. They are extremely reliable also.
  10. Have you considered a Buckmark with a TacSol barrel. They make a 7.5 inch barrel that is very light weight. You get the best as far as long sight radius without front end heavy gun. I have a TacSol barrel on a Buckmark that is very accurate. I think the Buckmark is a better choice than the Ruger if you shoot a 1911 or 2011 design gun since they have the same grip angle.
  11. I also use Wilson safeties on my guns. Never experienced a problem with them
  12. I run Aftec's in all of my guns. Never had a problem with them
  13. I bought American Eagle for $325.00 per M. + freight. I won't load either with prices this low.
  14. No need to wait that long. Call Bob at North Mountain Products has them in stock.
  15. Jaxshooter. I am a shooter that lives in Jacksonville, Florida . Jax Is the abbreviation for Jacksonville.
  16. I have had a lot of custom guns built and have never paid the full amount up front. Usually 50% with order and balance upon completion. Must be nice to run your business on some bodies interest free money. To bad you can't contract it like some construction jobs with penalties for not finishing on time.
  17. Look at the Rudy Project Genetyk and Ability glasses. Larger lens area so you may not be looking at the extreme edge of the lens. They are available with RX lenses. If you want to go that route contact me for an excellent discount program.
  18. IDPA will not allow a barrel over 4". 625s with 4" barrels are not as expensive as a 627.
  19. You can also blueprint and re barrel a Remington 700 for a hair under $1000.00. Have it chambered in 260 or 6.5 Creedmoor.
  20. I own 4 of the guns listed. I prefer the weight, reliability and accuracy of my Model 41. It is one of the older models that has been reworked and tuned by Clark's. It is a 5" gun with the Clark STC barrel. Next would be my Marvel Unit 1 Conversion on a Caspian Single Stack frame that was built for the Marvel Unit. I have found the conversions to be reliable using the single stack magazines instead of the double stacks. Next is the Buckmark with a TacSol barrel followed by the Ruger.
