RO Suspected of Cheating in USPSA Matches
Jaxshooter replied to deerassassin22's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
RammerJammer I am from Area 6 go back and read my posts. I have certainly voiced my opinion as an Area 6 member as to what should be done. -
Skydiver USPSA rules are used for all sanctioned matches. Nothing can be added to or deleted from the rules without a signed letter from USPSA. Local rules are ignored unless they get permission in writing.

Very simple solution to this "cheating scandal" ban everybody involved RO shooter/shooters for life if it is true. -
RO Suspected of Cheating in USPSA Matches
Jaxshooter replied to deerassassin22's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
This is nothing new with the hierarchy of the USPSA . Why would anyone think there would be communication on the subject anymore than there was on classifier information or what they paid for Steel Challenge. All of this is handled behind the scenes by the Good Old Boys. The membership has a right to know what is spent as well as information on subjects that effect the organization. It is OUR organization ( the members) and it is our money changing hands under the table and decisions being made while keeping the members in the dark. It is time for complete disclosure. -
9 Major - behavior between 115 jhp vs 124 jhp what should I expect at
Jaxshooter replied to SMS2's topic in Open Pistols
I use the 121 gr IFP bullets because they are more accurate out of both of my open guns. Have tried both 115 and 124 gr and they are both more accurate than necessary for USPSA. The guns shoot extremely flat with the 121. -
Don't overlook the Browning Buck Mark. The Ruger Barrel assembly is the serial numbered part so any replacement barrels have to go through and FFL. The grip angle on the Browning is like a 1911. There are a variety of aftermarket parts available also. I recommend the Tac Sol barrels for both the Ruger and the Browning. Juwanted to give you another option to look at hope it helps.

I put a 12.5 lb spring on mine and it works great for me.

RO Suspected of Cheating in USPSA Matches
Jaxshooter replied to deerassassin22's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
It is true that cheating goes on in every sport but when it comes to light something has to be done immediately to curb it. The punishment should be equal to the offence and in this case if proven to be true should the individual(s) involved should be banned from the sport for life. If this is caused by the value of the prizes available as mentioned in several posts. Separate the matches into two divisions amateur and professional. Put the pros money in the pot and let them shoot for it. If they pay a high entry fee they will self monitor the cheating situation. The amateurs can pay a relative low entry free and shoot for trophies or plaques. -
I use Frog Lube after cleaning to keep residue from sticking. As far as lubrication I have used Mobile 1 synthetic motor oil for the last 3 years with excellent results.

Sent my X-5 Allround to Sig for installation of the SRT. I had it back in 10 days total including shipping both ways. Call and find out what their turnaround time is now.

RO Suspected of Cheating in USPSA Matches
Jaxshooter replied to deerassassin22's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
If this proves to be true this person should be banned for life from the USPSA. The information should be passed on to the other organized shooting sports if possible. -
Another suggestion for name Tamer 30

I prefer BBI they are more accurate out of my 627 revolver and FNS long slide 9 mm.

Mag problems with older SVI (using new STI mags/grip)
Jaxshooter replied to DonovanM's topic in 1911-style Pistols
I had that problem with one of my SV open guns using the old style SV mags. Finally gave up tuning the mags and shortened my bullets and the problem went away. -
I don't know how the military does it with the .308
Jaxshooter replied to 38superman's topic in Precision Rifle
I am having two of my 700 actions re barreled in 6.5 Creedmoor for that reason. It is like running into a wall and getting up and doing it again trying to make a .308 competitive with the 6 mms. -
I shoot open and load any and all 9 mm brass and don't have any problems.
-
People say the 8 shot revolvers have killed the 625. I think Smith and Wesson killed the 625 when they eliminated the 5" barreled version.

Starting Open, Old School vs New advice (38s v 9M).
Jaxshooter replied to lee blackman's topic in Open Pistols
I have owned and shot both 38 Super Comp and 9 mm Major Open guns.. The last 4 guns I had built were 9 mm. I am currently shooting a Limcat Flashcat 9mm and an Akai Katana 9mm. Both guns run 100% and are extremely flat and soft shooting. I will never go back to 38 SC. -
Clean the rust out and use some Break Free on it. It will keep the rust down and will not affect the performance of the gun. The rust is probably caused from the gun getting hot and cooling off or vice versa and it is sweating.

Can I ask for a different RO on a stage?
Jaxshooter replied to Jollymon32's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I have on two occasions asked for a different RO and told the RM why. In both cases the ROs were replaced. Don't do it unless you have a legitimate reason for having them replaced. If you do ask for another RO. Both cases were at Level 2 matches. -
Solomon Speedcross. Excellent shoe for all of the action shooting sports.
