  1. I've got a brand new set of Talons for my M&P I never installed, I find it hard to adjust if I miss my draw. Maybe I will go ahead and toss it on, I really don't want to stipple the gun and hurt any resale value.
  2. I'm all for drones with some stipulations. It does not bother the shooter, only so many allowed in the sky with qualified pilots(operators?). It will only help to grow the sport and get it out there more on youtube and TV in my opinion.
  3. I "try" to down a bottle of pedialyte cut with 1:1 water the day before a match and a good fruit breakfast before a match. With protein and energy drinks like gatorade/powerade during the match. Might use Glucose tabs/gummies to raise my sugar levels if I think its coming to a point where I feel sluggish. Seems to work well for me so far. Except I have to take a leak often but at least I am hydrated.
  4. This right here. Shot your gear that you currently own until your gun and gear is truly what is holding you back. You won't need to ask on here, you will know when it's time to "upgrade"

    Para

The STI will have better support hands down. But the Para will or should run fine. You just have to decide either deal with the lack of support and run the para where more mags are hard to come by or go with something else where support is better all around. I like my p16-40 Limited and I would definitely keep it but I decided to focus and shoot single stack instead of Limited otherwise I wouldn't be putting it up for sale shortly.
  6. So far this is my only complaint with mine, got a link?
  7. Not true! I often trade my non reloaded calibers for stuff I need with other reloaders. Works out well for me when I have tons of useless to me cases but need something like 9mm which is plentiful but I go through a lot of.
  8. I never could get salomons to fit right, I ended up using Altra lone peaks which have a wider toe box for a more natural foot shape. They are a full mesh upper so they dry quick but sand and dust can get in and make your socks/feet dirty but that's a trade off I don't really mind. I really like them for hiking, and shooting. SO much that I have been wearing them almost on a daily basis.
  9. Empty is in the tube or chamber. Stage saver is legal as far as I know. Its all about what rule set they are using as well as the stage brief. If it says unloaded start but doesn't mention bolt forward you can either start bolt rear and toss the stage saver in as you are picking it up or start bolt forward and quad load away but then have to chamber one.
  10. I added moleskin for blisters on the back of my grip safety to build the hump up and above it to help with engaging it with a real high grip and not huge hands. Works fine so far and I will be doing it on my SS rig as well when I eventually buy some more moleskin.
  11. Same thing happened to me. Now that I am gripping without a finger on the trigger guard I notice I a bit faster getting my grip and having better luck controlling the recoil. Still need more live fire work but its getting there.
  12. Where you at in Lex? I'm over on Nicholasville right by the circle.
  13. Always save it, you can trade it off or sell it. It has value to someone.
  14. Great match! I shot like garbage with sights that drifted on my but still learned a lot anyways about movement and planning stages for single stack.
  15. Shot my worst match ever 45 out of 49. First match shooting SS and first time shooting my SS setup in a few years, turns out my sights got bumped and I didn't know. I've already added it as a learning experience on stage planning and movement and now I know to confirm my gear before a match. Live and learn. I did get 2nd in my division. Out of 2 lol
  16. Hopefully I should be there! Any idea when you will be allowing PCC to compete?

    16-40

I like my p16, I think you will be happy with it. If I was going to keep shooting limited I would stick with it for sure.
  18. I shoot mainly 3gun with an M&P but after switching to an STI, I will be solely shooting single stack. Forces me to plan stages better for 3gun and work on my reloads as well as work on the gun handling of a 2011/1911 platform. I may dabble with the STI in limited occasionally but its doubtful.
  19. 100yd zero and I know the holdover for all close stuff and my hoser bay stages as well as my long range. A tip, I use strelok and for a long range stage I will draw my holdover/reticle on a sheet of paper with the corresponding targets and tape it to my stock with clear tape. Ive thought about doing the same thing with a quarterback armband.
  20. Never bought the DVD set you mentioned but here is my opinion. Just get your shotgun out and practice your loading on the move as well as your pistol and rifle dry firing as much as you can. It will help immensely. As for DVDs I never got any but I did watch some drills and intro to 3gun kind of stuff on youtube and try to emulate them, it did help with my transitions and learn new things etc. Biggest thing is range time and dry firing more than any DVDs, I think you are overthinking it. Just go out have fun and safely do your best and learn from there.
  21. Depending on the match location I bring either a tarp for my cart and a larger rain jacket for my body that covers my gear as I wear it. Some ranges around me have a carport setup which helps alot on the rainy days but it does get crowded. I ALWAYS have desiccant packs in my ammo cans, and if it does rain I will dump my can out onto a towel when home and leave a fan on it overnight and dump it back in once all dry. I've toyed with the idea of taking a popup canopy to matches where we have a central staging location but it is alot of work to move it around. I like the patio/beach umbrella idea for the cart, got any pics of how you attached it? Another option is a topper for your truck if you have the option and just stage in the back or in the back of your van.
  22. There is one on ebay right now for $25 search Noveske 3 gun, should be one of the first results.
  23. I run 2 of the Bladetech belts I got for cheap, one USPSA and the other 3gun. They both seem to be holding up very well so far with tekloks but with alot of weight I do notice the belt dip a bit. I run velcro on the back and inside of my tekloks and it does help keep the belt secure to the inner belt when fully loaded. I do like the idea of the ELS system but I don't like the stud attachments for the belt I would have to go with a ratchet setup but that's more money I would have to shell out.
  24. Generally once a month maybe twice if I'm lucky, otherwise it's dry firing and working on my other skills as I can during the week.
