  1. It isn't. I asked a friend who would know. He didn't give me any other info on it because it isn't his project, but he said it's real.
  2. I'm sure they'll wait like 6 months for people to spring for the new German built gun, then tool up NH and build them here, then wait a few more months and offer the metal grip frame that works with non-alpha slides
  3. Assuming they didn't change anything with the way the FCU works, you could just remove all the manual safety parts and have the extra notch in the frame and hole in the FCU visible
  4. So QL says a 115gr XTP at 1.125" with 4.5g of TG is 32.5k PSI. Shortening the OAL to 1.080" increases the pressure to 38.8k PSI (or a 20% increase). Lowering the powder charge to 4.1gr (reduction of 10%) lowers the pressure of the 1.080" round to 32k PSI. 115gr XTP is 0.545" long, for reference, so you're increasing the seating depth from 0.174" to 0.219" in this example, which yields an 11.7% reduction in useable case capacity which is pretty close to what you calculated for your bullet.
  5. I ran some quick numbers in Quickload using the profiles I made for DG Bullets 124gr RN and 147gr FP, and you probably want to stay below 5.2gr and 4.5gr respectively (for N320 powder) to stay below 17k PSI if you can load out to 1.550" If you load to 1.450" those max charges go down to 4.6 and 4.1 Sport Pistol is very similar to N320 Do what you will with that data. I measured the DG 124s to be 0.565" long, and the 147s to be 0.651"
  6. I'm switching to Sport Pistol from N320 once this 4lb jug I have is gone. With 124gr coated bullets, the loads were nearly identical for me. Both of these are 3.9gr: N320 Sport Pistol Avg 1037 1026 PF 128.5 127.2 SD 6.97 8.73 ES 18 26
  7. I tested some Bayou 160s at 1.150" with Sport Pistol. Charge 2.7 2.8 2.9 3.0 3.1 Avg 814.8 842.75 853 865 878 PF 129.6 134 135.6 137.5 139.7 SD 7.7 10.04 15.39 7.07 7.4 ES 19 23 30 10 19 1.150" was about as long as I could load them and get plunk/spin (320 Legion). We didn't do any accuracy testing off a rest but they all seemed to group the same off hand with no tumbling. Only fired 5 rounds over the chrono in each case and not every one produced a reading (only 2 did on 3.0) so take the SD numbers with a grain of salt. But 2.8 is probably what I'll load more of.
  8. I ended up buying several and ran them at the range the other day. No issues. They are basically indistinguishable from factory mags.

    What happened?

Regular X5 or Legion? I remember seeing pics in the big thread of earlier X5s having an issue with firing slightly out of battery and causing big bulges on the brass.
  10. Yeah it's definitely happening during seating. At first I thought they might be getting dented during the drop from the bullet feeder collator to the feed die but that's not the case.
  11. Have you guys noticed any flattening of the bullets when loading? I did some load workups of various bullets a few weeks ago, including Brazos 135gr, and noticed my Dillon seater would flatten the nose on them pretty often. I tried both sides of the insert in the die. N320, 1.140" OAL (10rds over chrono) 3.3gr: 122.3 PF, 26 SD, 60 ES 3.5gr: 129.8 PF, 19.5 SD, 60 ES 3.7gr: 135.2 PF, 33.5 SD, 82 ES Definitely the least consistent bullets I tested, and I have to assume it's from the flat spotting changing the actual seat depth of the bullet and thus the pressure. Ran these through my bullet feeder with the MBF expanding funnel set the same as every other one I tested. Diameter was consistent at 0.356, same as the other bullets I was testing (DG, and a guy from the board here).
  12. I just did load testing this weekend and settled on 3.9g of N320 with DG Bullets 124gr RN at 1.135" for my Legion SD was about 7 and made 128.5PF at 17deg F so it should be fine. I preferred 147s with the regular X5 but the 124s with the tungsten grip. There was no discernible difference on the timer -- just feel in the hand.
  13. I didn't even know they made mags for the P320. $19.95 at Greg Cote, not too bad.

    P320 X5 Thread

Nice. Did you 3D print the whole takedown lever?
  15. That's pretty nifty. Not sure if it's worth the premium to me over the threaded adjustment knobs of RHTs but I like the concept. OP, I had a Ghost The One for my Limited gun (RIA "2011") and I never felt that confident in it even though I tested it and it never failed. I was paranoid it was going to fall out if I bumped into something. Just a mental thing on my end. It was very quick to draw from. I have three RHTs now for different P320s. They're nice holsters. It took just a quick shot from the heat gun to mod them when I added a go guns pedal.
  16. Ugly as all get out, but the concept is cool. I assume the shape is required to allow you to install the barrel into the slide from the front?
  17. That's pretty crazy that it is still having issues. Is the mag seating all the way in the grip? Has he tried it in a different grip frame or different mag catch? I have full size and compact 40 slides and have never had a problem, and I mix/match parts all the time.
  18. Send me a PM in a month or so and remind me
  19. Naw not really. I'm an EE so I was just going to wing it haha. But basically use the analog inputs of the Arduino to run the IR break beam sensor and increment a counter in code, and then use the I2C bus to display that data on the LCD screen. Shouldn't be much code at all since there are macros for most things in the Arduino world. The Arduino already has a reset button so as long your code sets the initial value to 0 for the counter you won't need any sort of external buttons. Whenever I get around to doing it I can post a schematic and the code.
  20. I have an arduino nano style MCU board, LCD, and IR breakbeam sensor I've been meaning to wire up and program to install on the output chute of my 650, but just haven't made the time to get around to it. Less than $10 in parts from china.
  21. Somewhere in the 4 to 4.5 range at normal lengths should work. You don't have to load long in the 320s. If you don't have time to test before the match and need to make Minor, I would probably do the Blues with 4.3 or 4.4 at around 1.135"
  22. Since they're aluminum and a Carry config, they must be lighter than the TXG grip. I know I've mentioned it countless times but it'd be cool if they'd do a carbon steel one for an Open gun haha
