  1. I think Sig 1911s use (or used to use) parts machined by Dasan also, and finished domestically.
  2. 3 for 13 with a G26, and 4 for 17 with a G34 on a 12" steel plate at 200yd
  3. +1 on joining Northeast Shooters FWIW, Nashua has been talking about a commuter rail line to Boston for a few years now. You could also live somewhere along the Downeaster tracks (Dover, Exeter, etc)
  4. The OEM Armscor ones are OEMP164015B on Greg Cote, I think, right? But they've been OOS for like a year. They're a smidge longer than the MGP164015 Para mags. I wonder if there will be enough clearance in the magwell to use them on the MGP164015 mags too. Sometimes. They required modification in my gun (both to the mag tube, and to the mag catch) and were not 100% by any means. They were too tall and the slide would hit them, causing the mag to drop out of the bottom of the gun. I have the RIA with the tactical rail though, so maybe the Pro Match is a little different.
  5. You will most likely need to take some material off of the feedlips to avoid FTF issues with those. See my posts at the end of page 40 and beginning of page 41
  6. Interesting thread. Good idea on the powder bar. I'll admit I have stopped using AA7 because of the blowback when shooting suppressed in 147gr 9mm, and because of how badly it jammed up the powder bar in my Dillon. I was always satisfied with the results I got with it in 10mm though.
  7. Hey -- did you happen to get a chance to try this yet?
  8. Mine is a .40SW -- I can fit 20 in with a Dawson extended pad, and Arredondo guts, so it looks like I'd lose 2 rounds switching to the Arredondo pad.
  9. Thats too bad. So Arredondo is the only option left for base pads it seems. Does anyone know if the Arredondos offer the same capacity as the Dawsons?
  10. I took mine off because I kept hitting it inadvertently Nevermind, I misread the OP and my response is not relevant
  11. Got it running finally. The MecGar Para mags from Greg Cote need to be modified to match the factory profile where the feed lips are approximately 0.500" long. I also put a Wilson extractor in and had to take a lot more material than I was expecting off of the feed edge, but I put about 360rds through it today with no issues at all.
  12. Slightly off topic, but when did Sig make the MAX in 9mm? I thought it was always only done in 40SW and 45ACP.
  13. Follow up on the mags. The blued mag on the left is the (presumably) unmodified factory mag, the middle is a mag assembled by the previous owner, and on the right is a mag that I put together after buying the gun. Seems like there has been material removed from the feed lips. I got the gun with the original blued factory mag and two silver ones, and then I went and built 2 additional ones. I used MecGar tubes from Greg Cote, and all five mags say "MG P16-40" on them so I assume they're all MecGar. All of the mags measure around 0.355 - 0.360 wide at the front of the feed lips, and 0.360 - 0.365 at the rear. My question is, did any of you other guys with .40 doublestacks have to relieve the mag feed lips as such? If yes, is there a template/measurements available in a post or FAQ somewhere that you know of, or should I just relieve the front of the lips a little at a time?
  14. I've given up on my experiments with STI mags in my RIA 40SW double stack, and gone back to the MG tubes with Arredondo guts and Dawson basepads. I finally figured out the trick of trimming the insert to keep the spring from binding, and I can get 20rds in all four mags now. However, I'm having intermittent feed issues now, where the round isn't inserted fully into battery, forcing me to drop the mag and rack the slide. I checked the extractor, and it seems to be beveled everything, and the tension seemed fine (did the "shake test" with a round and it held on), but it has been filed on by the previous owner and I don't have enough experience with tuning extractors to know if it has been filed too much. I ordered a WC 9mm replacement one. Does anyone know the target feed lip dimensions for these mags? Do I just tune them to STI dimensions as far as width at the front and rear? Also, could a Shok Buff have an impact on my feed issues, or would that manifest itself more as a short stroke?
  15. I'll try emailing them Name is spelled the same, same USPSA number, etc.. The only difference was my Google Chrome browser autofilled my email address to my work email during registration, versus my personal email I used to register with Practiscore initially,/sign in to Practiscore now. I did edit my registration info a few days prior to the match to update this, but it didn't seem to take as I got a match related email sent to my work address a few hours before the match. I also tried paying online and it initially claimed it was successful, but no charge ever showed up on my card and no confirmation email ever arrived.
  16. I wasn't sure if this was the right subforum or not -- I shot in a match this weekend but it doesn't show up in my "recent matches" list on my Practiscore dashboard. And now that I check, there's one missing from last year too. I can find them if I search through the global Practiscore results tab though. Is there a way to add these matches to my dashboard somehow so everything is in one place?
  17. So I got 3 old style STI mags, and one new style one. Along with a Para to STI conversion mag catch from Canyon Creek Problem is, the STI mags are too tall. There is a fair amount of up and down play for the mag due to the mag catch slot, and if fully inserted the slide smashes into the feed lips. If I apply downward pressure on the mag as I drop the slide, the mag falls out of the gun. If I load a few dummy rounds and hand cycle the gun, it works half the time, and falls out of the gun half the time. To remedy this, I took some material off of the tops of the feed lips of the new style STI tube I got, and that mag feeds reliably now and stays locked in the gun. I ran about 120 rounds through it without issue. I'm just a bit hesitant to do it to all three without getting some feedback first, because the old style tubes have a slightly different feed lip profile than the new ones.
  18. Finally got around to chronoing the TG loads yesterday, For interested parties: 4.2 4.4 4.6 801.8 803.6 823.4 808.5 811.4 840 810.5 792.1 838.7 795.6 820.3 823.2 808.6 794.7 816.8 810.4 800.1 820.3 806.5 805.1 836.6 801.7 806.1 836.9 831.6 787.8 839.1 796.1 831.5 804.9 835.5 807.2 828 793.9 850 820.9 813.6 AVG 807.45 802.36 832.31 SD 9.81 10.05 9.47 ES 37.70 32.50 33.20 PF 185.71 184.54 191.43 Wish I had a better explanation for you as to why the 4.2 load was hotter than the 4.4 One thing I will say, is that the brass looks odd after firing. I'll try and get a picture up. When using TG in 9mm, I found the cases to be very sooty on lighter loads. With all three of these 45ACP loads, I'm finding that the brass takes on a silvery coloring in one location -- almost looks like the area of the brass that rides along the feed ramp?
  19. I used EM bullets (yes, the Zombie green ones!) in 9mm and 45ACP without issue. They aren't the prettiest looking things or the cheapest, but they shot fine. I didn't really work up a load with them (I bought a ton of sample packs from different vendors and settled on a winner before getting to the EMs) but they still grouped as accurately as I could shoot them.
