  1. I spray a couple shots into the case feeder hopper full of brass
  2. IDPA to get better at USPSA Said no one ever ?
  3. I started using a little one shot case lube and the magic brass speckles went away
  4. Cool...needed a sanity check before I started cranking out a ton of rounds. Will be nice to focus on shooting...dry fire etc when things get into full swing rather than worry about loading
  5. Just recently got into loading with a 650...was hard to keep up with the amount my wife an I shoot using a 550. I'm thinking I should load like 5k and stay well stocked up so I can focus on other things rather then trying to keep up with loading. Just curious how many rounds you guys load and stock up on before I get to crazy playing with this 650 ?
  6. Just got my newly aquired 650 running with the bullet feeder on it today....why have I wasted years loading on a 550!? I just loaded 100 rounds of 40 in just under 5 min! And that's going a bit slower cuz I'm new at it and paying extra attention. What to do with the extra time!? ?
  7. Yup...I went along time thinking why should I spend the money on that...finally broke down and got one...worth it...saves so much time
  8. Does it have a spot on the bottom to thread in the optional rod for the barrel to rest on?
  9. I use TG for both my 9 & 40...burns a little dirty but cheap & accurate. Works for me
  10. Doh! I gotta buy another holster now....shooting limited is so expensive!
  11. Was the toughest match I have ever shot...3 days straight was a grind too
  12. I had issues with "glocked" brass....switching to the undersized die solved the problem
  13. Nationals for sure...area match would be second to that
  14. Learned my lesson the other day...got dq'd cuz I sent one over the berm after reloading...I was going too fast for my level and it cost me
  15. Yup...it happened today. Go to do a mag change and boom goes the dynamite after I seated the new mag. Had my finger where it shouldn't be and well....sent one over the berm. Scared the ? out of me! Trying to be fast and getting ahead of myself. Time to dial it back and practice some reloads. Hanging my head in shame till the next match. ?
  16. Ck arms hardcore 2011...have an identical pair of them but couldn't figure out how to reduce the photo file size ?
  17. Like others said 650...I bought the 550 years ago and didn't listen to those that said 650....I was wrong and have regretted it ever since..someday I'll get a 650 but in the mean time I'll keep complaining that I can barely keep up reloading cuz I didn't buy the right press
  18. I don't want to be the negative Nancy but...$1200 does not seem like it will go along way with a lim gun....not to mention the gear, mags etc. I got into a 2011 and shooting limited cuz I won one in a raffle and it has become the most expensive free thing ever. But it's so much more fun than shooting production!
  19. I have only ever come across one person who cast their own bullets. He showed me the whole process and it was pretty cool. That being said... I thought it was something I wanted to do until I saw it all first hand. Looks like a lot could go wrong...fire, lead posining, noxious fumes, screwing up the hardness etc. I can barely keep up with reloading to support my shooting habit let alone casting bullets as it would add a whole lot of time to the reloading process. I'd have to be retired with literally nothing else to do before I could get into casting.
  20. I wondered what this "40 long" business was all about when I got into limited with a 2011...now that I've been to the range with both my 40 long loads and factory length ammo I See the difference..Intermittent feeding issues with the shorter ammo. Loading longer...just under 1.2 for me a my lim guns run perfect.
  21. It used to bug me...I've gotten so used to it I forgot it had bugged me until I saw this thread....now it will bug me again for sure!
  22. I'm weak at stage planning also...went to limited nationals and shot with a lot of guys above my lvl...shooting 22 stages with A's, M's & GM's taught me a lot about planning. I didn't try to mimic what they were doing at the time for obvious reason but sure gave me a lot of insight of what I need to work on to get better.
  23. Awesome thanks for the info! I just watched some of the videos and learned I have not been caring for my press correctly
