  1. So far it's only installed, not staining and shrinking is the main appeal, appears to have much less static, threads into the measure solid, has an o-ringed cap so leaving it full should be just fine.
  2. He's probably talking about the Dram Works pyrex hoppers. $50 thing of beauty, mine came in yesterday. https://dramworx.com/
  3. I like revolvers alright. I don't shoot Revo. I don't have a competitive gun, I don't have any of the gear to feed it, I don't like them enough to buy it. I have a gun that is at least acceptable to compete with in every other division, but open. I'd be more like to pony up for open.
  4. 3.4gr Cleanshot 147gr Blue Bullet 1.1" oal 134pf G17 gen 3
  5. That'd be my guess, there's a HiCap in the fall. Trying to decide which to attend.
  6. MBF works fine on an LnL, makes it a little crowded is all. Which makes adjusting PM height a bit more involved. Watch for contact with powder measure when the PM station is empty, it can bind and drop a pile of bullets. What I've heard of the Hornady echo what's posted here. And they say it's very noisy too. Have read the MBF die can be made to work with the Hornady collator.
  7. This functions perfect and shoots ok in my 3 with several different 55gr fmjs, never had an issue with standard small rifle primers.
  8. I think the P120 is very nice for the money, add a few springs and the trigger improves greatly. I know a lot of CZ parts fit, not sure which don't, but there aren't really any replacement parts available, which is a thing in a high round count role. Buying again, I'd probably go CZ.
  9. Wilson flatwire kit works in my 4" Springfield. The website says it won't because the reverse cup won't fit without lathe work, but my Champion has a factory one that works fine. Not sure what if anything is different about the RO. Pretty sure I've read of people slapping GI guide rods in too.
  10. Dawson or Warren, green fiber in the front. Yellow lenses will really make it pop.
  11. I think Breakthrough Marksmanship is helpful for those with a good bit of experience, it covers pretty much everything but it doesn't go deep into anything. If he needs detailed thoughts on how to compete Practical Pistol. If he wants a bunch of live fire drills and thoughts on applying them, Skills and Drills, and obviously the Dryfire books are loaded up with dryfire drills. The reloaded versions are the freshest.
  12. What division? NC has a good USPSA match going somewhere almost every weekend.
  13. LAPGs of various sorts. Have held up well to the range and yard work, look ok, fairly affordable. They've also sponsored some shooters and matches around here.
  14. Have a Holosun 407C 2moa, bright and easy to pick up in any light. My 6moa Viper's dot gets lost in some conditions.
  15. I don't get any leading from Blues in any of my 9mms with a decent bore. There is something to the coating Blue uses. With Hi-tek .357" seems to be the sweet spot.
  16. Too easy. Unloaded start, toss it on the bag and go.
  17. Shoot what you want. Lim minor in skilled hands manages to break in the top 5 and occasional wins at locals here. The reloads in production are part of what makes it interesting. They are typically regarded as adding complexity dramatically out of proportion to reality. The game is set up on max 8 round arrays, you pretty much always have 2-3 make ups on tap. If you regularly need more than that to have bigger concerns than division. There may be times shooting to 10/11 is advantageous or you wish you had more in the mag, everyone else in the division faces the same dilemma. Glock mags with extensions don't really need tuning. I'd reach out to ETS, their CS is great, my 9mm mags are flawless.
  18. I debated it, but at the time there were no pics of it and no dealer nearby, went 407c, 2moa dot it's fine. Seeing the CO it appears I would've liked it just fine since the small ring does what I thought it would and blooms into a largish dot. I don't think turning it down and using the circle would actually be useful for much.
  19. Preference and/or space. I use bullets out in CO because I use bullets out in Prod for space. With the pouches behind the iliac crest I feel bullets forward is more natural for me in spite having used bullets out for more years.
  20. 60 seems pretty nice. Got off eBay or Amazon. Little goes a long way.
  21. Shooting? Physical demand? Both? I'd be game for any of the above as a barely A shooter. I'm under 40, in okay shape, and like pushing myself. I think there's a lot of shooters that would go for a "hard" match, but I don't know that there are enough that would take time and travel to fill such a match, especially before it earned a rep. 10yd runs and ports that require a mild squat bring groans if not complaints from a decent chunk of the people that fill matches.
  22. Shirts are ok if they're quality and low key enough I can wear them without drawing attention. The last Battle in the Bluegrass had fantastic shirts. Not upset if they don't have them. Prize table, plaques/trophies, cold water. Staff reset. The local section match has done it, doesn't add time, may even be quicker. Like half day format too.
  23. I usually grab mine, they end up in the bottom of the bag, or on some counter at the house frequently to wait months or years to get lost, shot, or discarded. Some days/stages it's the least of my concerns, some days my back and/or legs say not worth it. I'd say the majority of shooters at my locals pick theirs up if easily found.
