  1. Yeah looks like it's on CCI primers now.
  2. Yeah I like mine there are some mods that make it even better too. Mine was good enough straight out of the box though.
  3. Yeah I go for the novelty only really. Something new comes out and I want to actually see it. When I was younger I used to buy stuff off on individuals that were wondering around the show if it was a good deal. I got a couple great deals that way, but anymore any used stuff I like to run the numbers by the local PD which is hard to do at a show. Been an uptick in thefts the last couple of years and I'm not interested in playing the stolen good's game.
  4. I am kinda off the beaten path, but I use 5.0 of red dot and oal at 1.27. I run 230 gr RN from xtreme (plated) though.
  5. Yeah the website says the deal ends 01/15/2016. Looks like it was a pretty good deal though I don't know anything about the ammobot.
  6. Ah don't worry about it too much you'll get the hang of it. Welcome to the forum. The boys here are actually great and full of good info, one of my favorite forums on the net.
  7. Yeah you couldn't be more right. I have purchased once fired from several different places that had brass fired more than once. At least had been chambered more than once from the extraction marks on the case.
  8. Haha, yeah I have wondered the same thing myself.
  9. I use Winchester mostly these days for pistol. My local range has them for $28/thousand out the door. Can't complain about that and I don't have to deal with the hazmat debacle.
  10. I use unique in my 38 and 2400 for 357.
  11. Yeah I agree. Another thought, any chance his resize die could be out of spec?
  12. Xtreme is great if you want plated. Buy a good sized order and the $5 shipping covers it all. The UPS guy hates me on those days haha. If you sign up to their email list they are always running 5% off deals too just gotta wait for your fave to pop up.
  13. Yeah one of these days I am going to put down the cash for one of those marvels.
  14. Yeah just get a tumbler there is a reason we all clean brass before loading. If you are handy there are a number of do it yourself designs here and elsewhere that work great and are pretty cheap. I built my own and glad I did, saved me hundreds of dollars. I will confess it does not look as good as the store bought ones, but it works just fine.
  15. Ah ok I will try that thanks for the reply.
  16. Yeah honestly the best couple brass purchases I have made came from members here. Otherwise, it came from a local range that sold by the 5gal bucket. Some work was involved, but I got good brass and traded off the stuff I did not load.
  17. I would agree most of the stuff from Lee sucks, however their carbide dies for pistol are my favorite. I use they for all my pistol and their factory crimp die. Only thing I don't like is there is some brass shavings that tend to show up when you use them though I have never noticed it reducing brass life. Mostly a cleaning annoyance.
  18. Yeah what bowenbuilt said. It's gotta be one of those two things with my money on the brass being old and tired.
  19. Last I looked they are only giving $1.80 a pound. Then you have to pay to ship it to them. Sure would need a shitload of the junk to make it worth the bother. Hmm yeah probably so. Interesting thought though.
  20. I have a snub nosed 686 I have owned for years and love it. Was looking to buy another 686 with a longer barrel (at least 5 inch). Was looking at a 6 inch 686 when I came across this model. It has some kind of matte finish and is cut out for moon clips, which I have no experience with. Anyone own one of these? What do ya think of it?
  21. Yeah that isn't a bad idea. I have a little paint brush I use now that works well enough.
  22. Yeah I agree with you it would be a little nicer that way. You will get used to how this forum is organized though. Once I did it quickly became my favorite forum on the net. Great people here I have learnt a lot from them. Welcome by the way.
