  1. Yeah I don't think I've ever heard someone say they wished they had not bought the 650.
  2. Yeah the spare tool heads are where you save the real time in the caliber changes. I suppose that is a given though. I honestly have never understood why people make a big deal of the time to change over really, 10 minutes is nothing really. Sometimes I think its just an excuse to get another machine to play with. Then again I don't have a bullet feeder or anything like that as I like to take my time when I load. It always seems I can get a lot of bullets for the price of that upgrade and that always wins out.
  3. Yeah red dot is my go to for 45acp. I know alot of guys like bullseye too never tried it though. Seems I can always find red dot and see no reason to change.
  4. Not sure where you're finding Clays in stock, but I haven't seen it for a few years, either on line or locally. As mentioned, Clay Dot is supposed to be very similar. ~g I thought clay dot was the rebranded clays. Am I wrong on that?
  5. Yeah a full hopper of completed rounds is a beautiful thing.
  6. Depends if you gotta change primer size. 5 min if you dont, and maybe 15 min if you do.
  7. Haha that made me laugh a little. I may or may not be guilty of that as well.
  8. Why not stice with clays? Should be easy enough to find on the net especially. I have been seeing it in my lgs for awhile.
  9. Hmm first time I've seen that interesting.
  10. Huh salad spinner. I never even thought of that. Looks like I might have to make a trip down to my local dollar store here in the near future.
  11. I actually just commented on your post in the general section before I saw this post so take it with a grain of salt. That being said I have a 9mm shield and it seems to like the 124 gr HPRN from xtreme. Doesn't care so much for the normal plate bullet in that weight and profile though and I have absolutely no idea why. Unfortunately, that probably won't be a good self defense load for ya. I load with hp 38 and really like the results as do several of my friends. I would be happy to give you the specs if you PM me. And if you go that route hp 38 can be found online pretty easy these days and if you don't like the powder, I have absolutely no doubt that you could sell the rest and get your money back. Seems to be everyone's favorite powder for everything pistol.
  12. Well I guess the real question is what do you mean by best? You looking for max performance? Low flash? Overall accuracy? What are you gonna be shooting with this load? Paper? Steel? ect, tonythetiger is right there is no one size fits all. What works in your gun might not work in others. If you give some more info that would help out a lot, and don't say all of the above. You are gonna have to make sacrifices in some categories to improve others, there is no such thing as a perfect load.
  13. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah that seems to be the consensus.
  14. Try this. http://www.handloads.com/calc/index.html
  15. I like my Lee dies for pistol. I run the four die set so I can seat and crimp in separate steps.
  16. An interesting note. On the conversion kits sometimes you end up with doubles of parts which you don't need. Check out this website. http://thegunwiki.com/apps/calconversion/index.asp Ask me how I know lol.
  17. I decap first as it seems to help the drying process. I went to the dollar store and picked up deep cheap cookie pans and those mesh bags for drying clothes. Put the brass in the bags and turn a couple times as you walk by. Gives me perfectly dry brass.
  18. Haha but what about the hammer it had to total it out right?
  19. I dunno the competition could be fierce. She might have to step her game up a little haha.
  20. Haha ain't that the worst? I have some packages Ive been waiting on and Ive been on the road for work for over a month. I feel like a little kid at Christmas.
  21. Yeah give it a try. Might be your new favorite load for that gun.
  22. Ah ok guess I didn't understand your post. Sorry about that.
  23. Yeah they always look at ya funny until they fund out they can go to the range more.
