  1. Yeah I am just as guilty as the rest of you on that as well. I don't like how dillon excludes the 1050 from the warranty though. I realize why they do, but that has always been a major hang up for me for some reason.
  2. You know that is not an all bad idea. Turn that crap brass back in to Xtreme for the credit. I don't know why but that never even crossed my mind.
  3. LY brass? That is a new one on me. What name does it sell under?
  4. 15 lbs of ss pins Add brass till 5 gal bucket is half full (my homemade tumbler uses a 5 gal bucket for the bin) 45 case full of lemishine 12 squirts of gain hand soap I then separate with some old mesh trash cans from the dollar store Then brass goes into those mesh bags for delicate laundry and those are placed in cheap cookie pans to collect excess water Turn the bags over a couple times on your way by and you have dry brass in 48 hours probably less really
  5. Yeah one of these days I am gonna pony up the money for one of those. I would love to actually see one work though even though YouTube shows them in action. Just can't seem to find anyone around that actually has one.
  6. Yeah I agree with those above. Figure out how to get it mounted and load on it a couple times. You will end up keeping it, otherwise they do resell really easy. The adds never stay up real long.
  7. The inline fab handle is my favorite. It's a whole new press with it.
  8. Yeah the whole stepped case thing sucks. It is just one more thing to look out for. Sounds like the primer pockets are crimped to which double sucks.
  9. Hmm maybe I will have to give hp38/231 a try in my 45. I was always under the impression it didn't do that well in 45.
  10. Yeah how much of the stuff do you have anyways? If its not a lot I wouldn't mess with it myself.
  11. Haha that is the most passive aggressive thing I have read in awhile. Well done sir got a good laugh out of that.
  12. True story! Don't ask how I know. The same way I do? I may still have the receipts stapled to the reloading bench to remind me not to screw that up again..... Stapled to the bench. I like that. Great way to remind yourself.
  13. Wow that case is bad. Looks like an out of battery misfire to me though I have never seen one quite that bad. I had one like that once, on an Uzi, when I did not tighten the barrel nut all the way. Normally pistols are not supposed to fire out of battery. True, but it always makes me nervous when an engineer or designer tells me there is no way it can fail this way or that.
  14. Interesting, never heard of that brand. I guess I will be sure to stay away from them though. Thanks for the heads up.
  15. Yeah those numbers sound about like what I see on my 650. I never worried too much about it and it has never caused a problem for me.
  16. Yeah sounds like you are on the right track. I too use all lee stuff for my pistol and the 124s from xtreme for my 9mm. I do use a lee auto disk as I find it easier to change over than the dillon one. For pistol anyways.
  17. Yeah I stay away from the indoor stuff too unless its brutal cold outside. Even then, I am only shooting indoors a hand full of times a year mostly during the three miserable months in Ohio.
  18. Most of my friend's with cement mixers to tumble are not happy with results vs true rotary tumbler Yeah that is what I have always read from most of those guys using a cement mixer. They always seem to go a different route not too long after. I built my tumbler out of 2x4 and a 2x10 with a 5 gal bucket for the bin. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as your guys stuff though, but I does a great job cleaning brass.
  19. Wow that case is bad. Looks like an out of battery misfire to me though I have never seen one quite that bad.
  20. When SS media originally got popular this was true but the newer pins are sized a bit larger so this doesn't happen. I changed my media from the original smaller pins to the newer slightly larger size and this in no longer an issue. (My new SS pins are sized at .047"x.255") Yeah those are the size I have and I have never really had a problem with the pins getting stuck.
  21. Best of luck brother, hope you get those levels down.
  22. Yeah let us know how it works out for ya. If you end up going that route that is.
  23. I frankly shoot all range brass that I have no idea the history on. I do deprime and ss pin tumble, then hand inspect every case under a bright light. I realize for the super high volume shooter this may not work. However, it works well for me and I have never had a problem with my pistol brass. On a side note I don't load to max pressure (9mm major and the like) so I don't work my cases as hard. I am a simple guy and instead of pushing limits (even though its safe to do don't frag my you major guys) I change caliber or just don't do it. I guess what I am trying to say is I am over cautious. Long story short I use range brass.
