  1. A DQ is a DQ, and you are DQ'ing the shooter, not the gear. So they are done shooting for the match, and as match scores aren't final yet, anything they have shot is out too.
  2. All the reasons why you want a different gun for production like better trigger, and metal frame are even more a factor in Limited.
  3. I wouldn't trust that guy to sit the right way on a toilet, much less work on a gun.
  4. Are you sure it is rust and not just dirt/fowling/oil/schmutz that can be wiped or brushed away? I could see the rear sight getting some surface rust, but on the slide it seems odd.
  5. Manually decocking any gun is a somewhat unsafe action, whether you intend for it to go to half cock, or all the way down. You are still pulling the trigger with a live round in the chamber, and the hammer could slip from your fingers at any point.
  6. production, load your .40 to minor, or just suck it up and deal with recoil
  7. There is already a stock 2 extreme if you have to have one extra fancy. Or do you just want to hug Ben's nuts instead of Eric's?
  8. I have the CR Speed magnet, a quirk for it is that it just slides on the belt, nothing keeps it from moving around. Once your two belts are together the velcro keeps it from moving, but when your outer belt is off, it can slide out of position. Take it for what you will, it is either an advantage in being able to configure your belt, or a hassle that you have to make sure it hasn't moved.
  9. All the PCC shooters I know are aware that they are signing up for a short distance match, that is the fun of it. Getting to do movement, leans, going around corners and such that you don't normally get to do with a long arm on the square range. Just because the platform is capable of longer ranges than regular handgun is irrelevant. Open shooters aren't asking for higher round count stages, or tighter partial targets just because they have 170mm mags and a dot.
  10. Every mag you are using at the match is subject to the gauge. If you hand them a 140 at chrono in open, they should suspect something is up. Make sure you are legal before hand, and save yourself the hassle.
  11. In that vein, have we gotten any update on when exactly that might happen? I thought I had heard it was supposed to be a spring release, but nothing so far. I think every time they peel back a layer of the onion they find out how much of a cluster-f thinks were under Phil.
  12. http://taylorfreelance.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15&products_id=75 That is legal for USPSA limited. Downside though it is still a Glock. I think the reason a lot of people don't use frame weights for limited, isn't that they need race holsters, since most already use them. The frame weight goes where the race holster is, in front of the trigger guard, below the dust cover. You would need some other kind of holster like a formed kydex around your specific setup.
  13. There's a caliber conversion on this one. So there is, good show
  14. That's a lot of money for a blaster to still get scored minor
  15. Sounds like you put too deep a dimple in the stop, and now the follower can't overcome that. So probably need a new slide stop, and fit it to your followers. The foot of the slide stop should protrude far enough inside the frame that the follower is able to engage it, but not so far that it rubs the bullets, causing it to lift too early. Dimples on slide stops is just to prevent them from moving under recoil. Of course be sure your grip isn't the problem also.
  16. I'd start with Talon, buddy has it on his gun and likes it. If you need something more coarse, use that as the template to cut it out.
  17. Do you want to get better, or just go out to club matches and have fun doing whatever you are doing? And yeah, you are 14 years out of practice, so you are going to have to work at whatever style to get back at it, shooting is a perishable skill.
  18. You could "run" it during on deck, as on deck shooter has the right of way, but during the squad walk through you would never get time and a clear path to run the whole thing. People can't even get straight that you should exit out the back of the stage instead of turning around at the end of their walk through.
  19. The more options and variables you try to put in your stage plan, the greater the chance of it falling apart when the buzzer goes off. Break the stage up based on all the positions you need to get to for the targets, break those positions up in chunks based on your division, reload as necessary. When you start getting into if's and maybe's, you are usually out-planning your ability, or just over complicating the plan.
  20. Stormtrooper scoring should favor mikes and deltas
  21. 51623 the Rock Ultra FS 9mm (VS grips, magwell, no rail) is listed on their site as WEIGHT Unloaded 2.49 lbs / 1.13 kg Loaded 2.87 lbs / 1.3 kg Not sure that is fully accurate, as 51961 the TCM Tac Ultra FS Combo (VZ grips, magwell, and full length rail) is shown as WEIGHT Unloaded 2.35 lbs / 1.07 kg The long railed dust cover should weigh more.
  22. You really only need one 170mm mag, at most 2 so you have a spare. Any stage you can't finish with one maxed out 170, a single reload to any size mag will get you the rest of the way. The 155 isn't really an alternative to the 170, they are an alternative to 140's
  23. There is no bump to limited. If your gear doesn't fit the division you signed up for, it is a bump to open. If your gear doesn't fit open(max mag length) you are shooting for no score.
  24. Really it is more that stage design doesn't have to change to accommodate PCC. I hope you don't have to shoot the same 6 stages at your club match every month. I assume your MD puts some variety in there to keep it fresh. OMG that is change. But you probably see similar challenges presented, like tight partials, leans, SHO, WHO, etc. So far, nobody has come up with any challenge that can't stay in the match because of PCC. People can still even have their facing uprange starts, PCC will just start different. Since PCC is just shooting against PCC, it is a level playing field for them. Just like it doesn't matter that Open has a competitive advantage vs Production. Stages don't have to dumbed down for PCC to play.
  25. Primarily it is for limited guns 2011 and widebody para/armscor guns. It can affect single stacks too if they are using over length mags like a 10rd without any kind of stop on them. Since the basepad is not flush with the bottom of the grip on 140mm mags, it is possible to over-insert the magazine too far into the gun, causing the top of the mag body to ride over the edge of the ejector, push the ejector out of the frame, or just break the end of the ejector off. To avoid this, you don't do slide lock reloads. Which is fine for limited, because you never should go to slide lock.
