  1. Yeah...and get another title in a division that most of the top people won't be shooting.
  2. Does the mag have factory or aftermarket base pads?
  3. IDPA alone won't make you better. If you start practicing because of IDPA, your gun handling skills will increase. It will not help you with self defense tactics, etc. You will get out of it what you put into it. Just make sure you are safe with a gun, then go try it. And yes...you'll have fun
  4. Thanks. It irritates me that the originals fit, but the new ones don't. They say the gun is the variable, but if that were the case, I did think if one set on grips fit the others should too. There isn't much material in that spot to begin with, so I'm kinda nervous to remove much. One side needs a decent amount of the grip relieved.
  5. No. The panels fit where the should, but the screw holes don't line up. From the website: "Install notes: Scale grips are produced for a very tight fit. Clean your frame of any carbon or thread locker build up. Primarily check that the angled face that locates the front of the grip is clean. When installing the screw, press the grip forward to ensure screw clearance to the frame. Insert your screws and check that it will thread in. Do not proceed if the screw isn't a perfect 90 degree angle. Only when the screw goes in perfectly straight should you proceed with the screw installation. Please do not cross thread your frame or over tighten the screws. FYI.... due to manufacturing processes, frames may have the fastener locations in different spots left vs right. If you are not comfortable slotting the Scale grip screw hole to alow the screw to go in perfectly straight, seek the assistance of a qualified gunsmith. Check that your screws are tight after and during your next match. Blue thread locker on your grip screw is recommended. No liability is expressed or implied for damage or injury which may result from improper installation or use of this product."
  6. I got a pair of the new Scale 2.0 grips to replace my original scales that are on there now. My original pair went on no problem. This pair doesn't line up right with the screw holes on my SP-01. It looks like the holes need to be opened up towards the center of the grips. The website says they may need fitted. I emailed the company Saturday, but got no response, which is disheartening. Has anyone had to fit these before? How did you do it?
  7. You didn't like them compared to the originals or just other grips?I sent you a message.
  8. Thanks. I had some +10% that I got to replace the springs on the 18rd factory mags. I put it in and ran about 100 rounds no problem.
  9. Is the stock Mec-Gar 17rd mag springs strong enough with a Taran Tactical +4 basepad or should I put +10% springs in it?
  10. Cz customs claims a 3" group with the Accu-Shadow (5" for the regular Shadow) from a ransom rest at 50yds, so I'd say it's a pipe dream. "Ransom Rest testing at 50 yards with Fiocchi 125 JHP (A ZERO bullet) has proved group of less than 3 compared with a factory new gun at about 5.0. At 25 yards the groups were around 1.2 a one-hole group."
  11. Outdoor Research Sombriolet. I wear it at work. Doesn't look cool, but it keeps you cool.
  12. I just started shooting uspsa and only have 3 matched under my belt. The local club does 32 round stages almost exclusively...the classifiers have been the only stages I've shot with less than 28 rounds. I know one thing...it makes it difficult for someone just starting out shooting production to wrap your head around everything on big stages. I wish they'd mix it up with some short/medium courses.
  13. How much heavier are the Scales vs. The stock wood grips?
  14. You can use the same die, but it will have to be adjusted between the two. They will have different coal.
  15. Thanks guys. I ordered a .215 front sight and got it put on today. It's hitting exactly where it should now. That should help.

    Ultimate ESP

So the Tactical Sport will fit, but it's too heavy and the full length dust cover keeps it out of esp.
  17. Nick...what are you going to be shooting? Are you gonna stick with a DA/SA gun? Still using g a production legal holster or race holster? I was just curious if you are trying to keep things otherwise consistent with production.
  18. Can someone post a pic of the new Shadow 2 adjustable sight?
  19. I put the set of Dawson's from CGW on my SP-01. https://cajungunworks.com/product/ezd-9-40-for-9mm-and-40-sw/ I'm shooting 2.5-3"high at 20yds with 147gr loads. I've been putting up with it for a while, but I'm tired of having to adjust for it, so I'm looking for a new, taller front sight. I'm using the Dawson sight calculator to try to figure out what I need. I'm measuring the CGW front sight at 0.20" from the top of the slide. https://dawsonprecision.com/sight-calculator/ Does that sound right? Anyone have to put a taller sight on with this set? -
  20. I have to load them to 1.07. I'm looking at the 135s and a few other bullets now.
  21. Amazon. 3m 1" safety tape. Cut with a utility knife.
  22. Do you have directions you could post or link to here?
