  1. So you guys don't worry about range scavenged .40S&W brass after a match? I've loaded a bunch of range pick up 9mm minor brass with no problems. I'm getting in to shooting 40 in limited, and just want to make sure major loaded 40 brass will be OK to pick up and load. Anything special you guys do?
  2. Is this a 40/major pf problem? I've shot a lot of after match range pick up 9mm and had no problems. Edit: Nevermind...I see now that you were talking about you specifically.
  3. When using range-scavenged brass do you sort brass into groups by headstamp? Do you prefer a certain headstamp? Do you not use certain brass? What precautions do you take, if any, before beginning the loading process? Is a push-thru sizing die a must for .40 range brass? I'm getting ready to get into loading for .40S&W and want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.
  4. I was looking at gettinga DAA racer pouch with a magnet as my first pouch on my belt. The description says to keep it away from electronics and credit cards. I keep my phone in my left front pocket, so it would be directly below the magnetic mag pouch. Has anyone had problems with this?
  5. I just broke my first Ghost pouch after a year of use during dry fire. I don't think I had it too tight. Now it's got me wondering if I should try a different pouch because I don't want to snap one off during a match.
  6. Some people don't know when to leave their dogs at home.
  7. I wasn't sure, because typically 147s shoot high, so you have to get a taller front sight, or I assume lower the rear. If you had it set for 124s, then switched to 147s, you would have to lower the rear, and you said you were about out of adjustment going down.
  8. It is compatible with G19 holsters. I would assume the sub compact and full size models to come will be too.
  9. What? You guys get everything before us. CZs Facebook page said they'll be trickling in in a month, in January. I find it hard to believe it will be another year before you guys get them.
  10. I've decided they are never going to get here, so I'm going to buy a Tanfo Limited instead...as soon as funds permit.
  11. I don't think the EGD grips make weight. I saw a guy get DQd for weight with lim pro and EGD grips. The Lim pro is already close on weight, so it doesn't give you much wiggle room. No matter what you do, I'd be sure to invest in a scale to weigh the gun. It'll save you a lot of grief, and you'll find other uses...my girlfriend uses it in the kitchen, too ?.
  12. Wow...that grip texture looks really good.
  13. Just read the article in Guns and Ammo. They are releasing the compact, then a semi-compact (shorter frame, compact length slide), then a full sized pistol. I wondered why they didn't just make it optics ready, since that seems to be the thing to do... but then thought they'll probably release all these models, sell a bunch, then release an OR model and sell more.
  14. I think emails trying them to convince them to not change are a waste of time. They have obviously put a lot of effort into this new rule set, even designing a new classifier around it, why would they scrap it now? IDPA jumped the shark and some people are going to defend them until the end.
  15. Holy crap...that things like a novel. I skimmed over some of it and found little things here and there, but I also found this (linked below) where he summarizes the reasons you don't see Tanfos at the "top" in limited. EDIT: inserted twice for some reason and can't get rid of it: (1) Feeding Issues -He says since Mec-Gar entered the game, it's no longer an issue. (2) Lack of EAA Competition Support -I've heard that EAA has upped their game as far as customer service... admittedly, this is hearsay. (3) Lack of After Market Parts Support With Henning, Stoeger, and Patriot Defense, it seems this has been resolved and getting even better. (4) Lack of local brain trust or gunsmith support Is a local brain trust or a gunsmith necessary with the people we have on this forum shooting/tuning Tanfos now? Most people are shooting Stocks, sure, but the basic design is the same and people are turning out great running guns on their own. It's fairly inexpensive and cheap insurance to have a box of springs and extra parts in case something breaks. I'm just trying to think my way through this (possibly trying to convince myself I don't need a 2011), since so much has changed in the years since those posts.
  16. I guess I don't see how a Tanfo could hold you back when there are shooters at the very top shooting Glocks. Unless it was unreliable or breaks often, but that doesn't seem to be the case from what I'm reading.
  17. But they've already made polymer guns with slide-in-frame. Why change it now?
  18. Watch videos on YouTube...it doesn't. It looks very similar to a Glocks rails.
  19. No. These: http://benstoegerproshop.com/ghost-360-universal-magazine-pouch-uspsa-ipsc/
  20. I agree. They went away from the stuff that makes a CZ a CZ. I would like to see the grip texture make its way over to the P09/P07. That seems to be the weakest point of that gun to me.
  21. I get the polymer since it's intended for carry. I get the striker to broaden your market. I don't get why they went away from their trademark slide in frame. The slide real estate must be the reason, but I don't think it was a problem. I think they slide in frame benefits outweigh the slightly smaller slide to grab.
  22. The slide doesn't sit inside the frame like all the other CZs. Can they not do this with a striker fired gun or did they chose not to make it like that for a different reason?
  23. Do the .40s suffer from the same short chamber problems of the 9's? How long can you load? Did you guys get it reamed? Will it feed longer rounds?
  24. When you send a barrel to Grams, do you just tell him you want it reamed, or is there something specific you have to tell him?
