  1. I'm confused. Some sites say order your pant size. Some sites say measure your actual waist and round up to the next even number. Some reviewers are saying to add up to 6". What do I need to do to get the right belt the first time?
  2. With my current IDPA only gamer fishing vest (5.11), that I think is silly, I was never able to finagle a pocket just right for tactical reloads, ended up just putting the removed mag into my pants pocket. A pocket that allows a very fast drop with efficient motion getting to the next magazine, and keeps things secure enough to allow for whatever movement the rest of the stage requires might sell very well. It could even make tactical reloads sort of fun. I always have thought the big front pockets on the 5.11 vest were backwards.Would it be against this rule to take a seam ripper, remove the pockets, switch sides, and sew them back on?... "8.9.5 Specially made pockets for magazine stowage after a reload may not be used. " They are the same pockets, just reversed to customize it to your preference. What do you guys think?
  3. Do you mind if I ask what the cost was?
  4. Thanks for the quick response. I reposted this in the accessories thread.
  5. I'm thinking about getting a set of custom ear plugs made. I like that fact that they would be fitted to my ear, fill most of the lobe, and offer higher nrr protection than standard plugs. I bought the radians do-it-yourself custom molded ear plugs. I haven't tried them yet, but will soon. I was also thinking about going to a professional, an audiologis,t and getting some made. I'm not sure if the cost, but looks like it would be about $100 or so. I'm just looking for opinions and wanted to hear your experiences with custom plugs.
  6. Sorry...my fat finger hit the wrong forum topic...please close
  7. I just got the Tactical Journal today... looks like its pretty much a sure thing.
  8. That could explain why my 115gr loads were working, but the 147s I was trying wouldn't. As I said earlier, the manual said not to use diffusers on a cloudy day, so I didn't. I'll try them next time. Thanks.
  9. How important are the bearings? Most designs I've seen don't use them, they just rotate on a bolt.
  10. So has anyone heard of a date that this will start?
  11. I'm probably closer to 5. The manual said 5-10. Maybe I should try a little further. I can't figure it out either. The manual said sometimes bullets can be too shiny, hence the sharpie trick...but the bayous aren't shiny like the plated, and the plated have given me readings every time. I'm perplexed.
  12. This is the reason I didn't use them: From the owners manual... "On an overcast day, it is generally better to remove the diffusers. This is because the clouds act as diffusers and so no further diffusion is needed; rather in this case it is more advantageous to allow more light into the chronograph." I'll try them and see what happens.
  13. This is my first experience with a chronograph. I bought a Prochrono a few weeks ago and have tried to use it a couple times. All times it was heavily overcast, twice in the evening and once in the middle of the day. I was just using sticks with no diffusers. The first day, with my old Berry's plated load it read with no problems. The second day I tried my new Bayou 147 load, red in color. I got an error message like 7/10 shots. So I packed it up, thinking maybe it was too late in the evening. Yesterday...heavily overcast again, at noon...went back out. I shot 5 shots of my old Berry's load through it. 5/5 recorded, no problems. So I switched to my new Bayou loads to test. Same thing. Maybe 7/10. The owners manual said to try coloring the bullets with black sharpie. I did, to no avail. I'm frustrated. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
  14. Thanks guys. I may just go to brass bombers and get fully processed brass. I don't need a ton, and I don't own a swager, so it's my cheapest option unless I start shooting a lot more .223.
  15. How many pages do you guys intend to argue? Can we let the pissing match die already?
  16. Somehow I overlooked the brass section of the classifieds here.
  17. Are you finding it in the classifieds here? Has anyone bought the once fired lake city from Amazon?
  18. I'm needing to get my stock of .223rem brass up. Looking for once fired, boxer primed, preferably good headstamp. Where do you guys get yours?
  19. Wait a sec...I know I've read/heard Sevigny, Vogel, and Stoeger all shoot 147's in matches. Am I wrong? When I took a class wih Vogel I asked what his load was. 147 grain 9mm over titegroup loaded to 135 power factor That's what I thought. He says he shoots 147's in the Panteao videos...because they feel softer. There's a section in Robin Taylors book about Glocks, where Sevigny talks about why he prefers the 147's. I know Stoegers says he shoots 124's in practice and 147's in matches. He said he does it that way because of cost in one of his podcasts. So who are these "top shooters" shooting 124's and 135's?
  20. Thanks guys. I went ahead and tacked some 100's on with a powder order.
  21. Which ones are you guys using? The regular 100's or the match 100M's? I'm looking for the small pistol primers that are supposed to be softer and easier to set off.
  22. I finally broke down and bought a chrono, so now I can put this info to good use.
  23. Wait a sec...I know I've read/heard Sevigny, Vogel, and Stoeger all shoot 147's in matches. Am I wrong?
  24. Me too. I think we need to email them and suggest they start making wide sizes.
