  1. Stock spring is 16lb, work down and see if you can make it run with your load.
  2. There are still people like me running rifle length buffer systems, just look for ace stocks. Collapsible stocks are much more popular today that’s the big difference. Both work pick the one you like and practice.
  3. 4grs of sport pistol, 124-125 bullet, normally 1040fps in my 5.5 taccom barrel
  4. Depends on the system and weather. Tight open gun, only oil. Loose Glock, 320, M&P I use grease. Weather below 20 only oil regardless of system.
  5. There was a time I thought a heavier gun was an advantage. Then I watched Dave Sevigney win the limited nationals with a Glock 35. No frame weight, mag well, or flashlight. Also shooting major. Now I know I’m not on Dave’s level but weight is not everything. If you believe it’s an advantage then it is because you believe it. But either setup can win with practice.
  6. I know you can modify the 1.0 frame to take a 2.0 slide stop, but I never tried to modify a 2.0 slide to work with a 1.0 slide stop. I don’t own any 2.0 slides, I did borrow one to play with.
  7. The only real issue with running 2.0 slides on 1.0 frames is the slide stop. 1.0 is square 2.0 is a wedge shaped. The uppers will work but you will have unreliable lock back. I’m running a 1.0 frame and slide with 2.0 internals except for the slide stop, It’s a 1.0. I’d put it up against anything as far as reliability. Remember the “factory” gives advice for the lowest common customer, such as you cannot change the factory recoil spring because they set it up correctly. You may have to do some tuning but if you cannot figure out those issues maybe going off the res isn’t for you.
  8. I know a lot of people in my area have gone to metal guns for “recoil control”. I think It’s not the cool gun to have now. The best advice I’ve gotten is pick one and practice. An M&P is more then capable of winning the nationals just like a Glock or Sig or CZ. Pick the one you like.
  9. I don’t know about the V3 I ran an original versamax. I do know not to debate Kurt! Believe what he says!
  10. Blue bullets are good in a PCC, I’ve run a lot of them. They are dirtier then jacketed and not as accurate in my guns. I run them for practice and local matches, and switch to jacketed for major’s.
  11. Benelli M2 fire control parts work in the Verasmax. I’ve been running a Benelli hammer since the Remington hammer broke. No issues. I’ve been told you can swap the complete trigger groups but I don’t have a Benelli one to try.
  12. I prefer the Timney, but they are both good. It’s personal preference.
  13. I do not have a schedule for part replacement. When I do a detail clean I replace any broken or worn parts. Springs get replaced when they weaken. If you run a recoil spring 15lbs or above they seam to last forever. If you drop to a 13 or 11 replace the spring when it stops feeding.
  14. I detail clean my M&Ps two practices before a major or when it stops working. If you run them you will wear or break parts, I’d rather find issues at my bench then after a blown stage at a major. It’s rare that it’s needed, I consider it insurance.
  15. This is what I’ve been told. the original barrels were 1/16 twist and do not have dots. when s&w went to a 1/10 twist they began marking the barrels with dots. there are one dot and two dot barrels, they indicate which machine the barrel was made on.
  16. I’m on my third Taccom ULW barrel. I sold the first one (non ramped colt mag setup) and now have a primary and backup with the upper ramped super feed barrels. Prior to Taccom I ran a JP barrel. They are all good and no barrel makes a gun 100%. There are many variables to make the “system” reliable the barrel is only one part.
  17. I would suggest that you install whichever apex trigger kit catches your fancy, polish all contact surfaces, and practice. I’ve run M&Ps since they were first released. While I can make a sub 2lb trigger I don’t want one. To get that light you need to lighten the striker spring. You just took a very reliable gun and made it iffy. All striker fired handguns are like that, they rely solely on the striker spring to ignite the primer. All my M&Ps have triggers between 3 1/2 to 4lb, they can set off rifle primers, and I only clean them for major matches. I don’t need to worry if they will work so I can focus on my performance. They took me to master in several devisions. Just my opinion.
  18. I use a standard clam shell on EPC receivers, works fine for the two I’ve built.
  19. I’ve shot a lot of blue bullets, S&S, and Bayou, all coated. Powder makes a big difference in the amount of fouling but they will never be as clean as jacketed. I shoot coated for practice and locals, and jacketed for majors. I do not shoot them in comps or MPX gas systems as I don’t run those. I have run them in production, limited, carry optics, and PCC and will continue to do so. Not as clean or accurate as jacketed but more then enough for USPSA.
  20. I loved shooting 3 gun but I only had three good matches within a 10 hour drive (that’s per year not month). I shot them for three years until two of them closed (FNH and Pro/Am). I can shoot USPSA every weekend and no match is over a 1 1/2 hour drive. In the north east 3 gun died years ago.
