  1. I,ve been shooting competitions for almost 20 years now, but I don’t shoot 3gun like I used to. For four years I shot a lot of 3 gun but in western PA there isn’t much available so that was a lot of travel. thankfully we do have a lot of USPSA to keep me busy. I would shoot the pro am in Kentucky and the FNH championship in WV but FNH is no longer running and the pro am Is a 9 hour drive each way. I normally will shoot 1 or 2 3 gun matches each year but no big ones as the pro am is the closest big 3 gun match I’m aware of. Also try the 7/8oz Fiocchi slugs in your VM. They are by far my favorite slug. PS here is my port.
  2. That is mine, I did all the work and it’s been great except when the cheap parts broke. I broke the hammer, firing pin, and firing pin spring. All Remington parts. I replaced them all with Bennelli parts and no problems since. I love my verasmax; Remington quality, that’s another story. That picture is from 2015 so over 5 years and a lot of flats through that gun.
  3. Thanks for the info.Do you know what the weight increase is?
  4. Any chance you would share more information on your tungsten epoxy weight mods? Locations, %s of mix, total weight increase? Thanks, Ryan
  5. Yep I run mine in several tube lengths. The carbon arms system alone gives my 8rds in the tube. I have extentions I run on it that extends the system to 8rds, 10rds, or 13rds depending on the match rules. I’ve never had a strike on the tube but I have scraped a lot of power off the extensions.
  6. Why do you want a barrel clamp? I run a carbon arms one piece tube on my VM and have never ran a barrel clamp. I thought the VM competition was a one piece magazine tube also?
  7. Most of the fire control parts on the versamax are a direct swap for Benelli M2 parts. I still think the versamax is the best design available and it’s what I run but there quality is a joke next to Benelli.
  8. I bought a core kit to try carry optics. I’ve not had any reliability issues, overall I’m happy with the kit. Every light strike issue I’ve seen with an M&P is either tied to interference with the firing pin safety or running a light striker spring. I can’t comment on the ported barrel as I never fired around out of it I just installed an Apex. Every core kit I’ve seen including mine has come with the five adapter plates. I run a vortex venom on mine so cannot comment on the holosun. I’d recommend the kit and good luck to you and your wife.
  9. From the picture I’d guess it comes with the bolt and a sleeve that the bolt rides in and the rollers lock into. My guess
  10. Is there a any other information out on this? There is nothing on there website
  11. Mines a little rough as it was his first attempt at a cmmg lower. I’m sure his current model is much prettier.
  12. Bmiller makes one for the cmmg colt lower
  13. Just take the bolt out of the stock guide rod and put on your new spring. Why replace a steel guide rod with another steel guide rod you have to pay for?
  14. Well if it doesn’t work and you like the gun send it away and get it working. My real advice would be shoot the Glock that works and spend the money on ammo and matches.
  15. Does the RIA work? If it does why are you sending it away for work?
  16. I’ve seen many locking blocks that are rough in that area. When I’m setting up a new M&P this is an area I always file smooth and polish. This is the camming surface for the barrel so smoothing this area helps smooth the action.
  17. I’ve never heard of anyone making an M&P striker besides S&W.
  18. You can ream the throat and load as long as you want
  19. Apex is over sized and needs fitted. KKM is a drop in. No question about it apex is the better choice.
  20. I run apex sears in all M&Ps. I tried the full apex kit with a flat trigger but didn’t care for it. So for me it’s an apex sear and all other parts stock, well they are polished and tuned.
  21. There are good and bad sides of everything. Versamax will shoot a wider array of shells and is the softest shooting of all the major shotguns in use. I’ve never had an issue with slugs in my versamax. It is also very heavy and Remington’s quality control is horrible.Ive replaced most of my fire control parts with Benelli. I do not regret getting my versamax but I will not say it’s perfect.
  22. I’ve been using SP since it was available, it is my only pistol powde now.
