  1. I have a 507C-GR, a 407C-GR, and a 407K with a 5moa dot. The one I wish they made is a 407A-GR. The 407A is a Palmetto State Armory exclusive as I understand it. It is a dot-only reticle, without the solar panel on top, and has a 3moa dot. Put the 5moa green dot in it, at $179, and I'd buy 5 right now. My competition dots are SRO's with 5moa dots, and a Deltapoint Pro with the 6moa dot. Holosun 3MOA Shake Awake Red Dot Pistol Sight | Palmetto State Armory
  2. I've shot 2 matches with staff reset, SC Sectional and Ft. Benning 3 Gun. One was volunteer, the other volun-told, ie. US Army privates assigned to the ranges that day. Our first stage at SC, we went out to reset, and were asked, "what are you doing?" We thought we were in trouble for something. They then said, no, you're on vacation, go get ready for your next stage. If you have the opportunity to shoot such a match, I recommend it. I appreciate match staff that work in the heat for several days more than I can say. Some things I've learned as a shooter, bring a chair. Rest when you can rest, work when it's time to work. By the end of the day, you'll have gas in the tank to help with concentration. I can see it on people's faces that have been standing all day. They're exhausted. After the last shot, I'm the first out to reset. But I don't stand around much after. Stay hydrated, have some carbs/protein. As the song goes, remember sunscreen.
  3. Obviously the Gen 5 Glocks are legal, they have a flared magwell integral to the grip, very similar to the Wilson grip for the 320. What is different on them compared to the Icarus?
  4. Well, what's the call if a shooter's glasses fog during a stage up to the point he can't see? It's obviously a safety issue with a guy with a gun running around and he can't see. I've seen some humid days where it could be very possible.
  5. The pin still needs to contact the primer, so the deeper it's seated the farther away the primer is from the firing pin tip. Everyone preaches "seat them deep", but they need to be deep enough to bottom in the cartridge case so the anvil is able to ignite the compound, but not so far the firing pin loses it's ability to firmly strike the primer. Extended firing pins and primer sensitivity add another aspect to this equation. Seems you've found the sweet spot.
  6. Maybe seating them too deep, and breaking the priming pellet? Just a thought.
  7. The small frame Tanfoglio will take CZ75 mags. The large frame guns take their own mags.
  8. A rare success story for the org.
  9. When an entry level STI open gun was $2500 or even a little less, or a used one was sub $2000, that was a more valid argument to shoot open. But now with the demise of STI, you can't get into open for less than $5000. A $1000 set up in a Glock, Canik, or Sig is appealing. Even Sarge has said if CO existed when he started he probably would not have invested in open.
  10. Kinda like what happened to the 12 or so guys that shoot revolver. My buddy the revolver shooter quit shooting for a couple years over it.
  11. I wasn't. I jumped on it right away when it was still 10rds. Bought a dozen Henning flat basepads, then had to buy 140mm extensions. Kinda pissed me off, but oh well. I had to ask a couple MD's to add the divsion to practiscore so I could sign up for it.
  12. Would you keep the .40 for major rule or allow 9mm major? That would be significant.
  13. I would also stay in minor because I'm invested in Shadow 2's. Major would be a definite advantage. Both major and minor would require at least 1 reload on an average field course, so the capacity advantage would not be as big a deal. Just a mental exercise while I waste time at work before we shut down court for the holiday.
  14. I keep watching factory ammo prices dropping in my daily emails. I have to believe it will trickle down to reloading components eventually. I looked at my 650 last week, and it was covered in dust and cobwebs.
  15. What's your mainspring weight? Probably have to go up. I run 17#'s in my open STI's and they light any rifle/pistol primer except S&B small rifle. Those are hard as rock.
  16. I've been reading the several threads about SAO possibly coming into CO, and a thread discussing power being tested in stage design, and I got to thinking what CO would look like if we treated it like SS, with the option of major/minor scoring. If we allowed major scoring with .40's or larger, or minor as we have it now, leaving all other aspects alone. 140mm mags would probably yield 20 rounds of .40 and 23 rounds of 9mm. Would there be a shift to .40 guns for the points, or would 9mm still dominate because of capacity. I'm not advocating for any changes, just a what if. This has nothing to do with SAO, I'm talking about current CO legal guns.
  17. USPSA has never had a poll to add or subtract divisions. I don't recall ever being polled by the org for anything except elections.
  18. I think it'd definitely siphon Limited shooters. Cheap guns, cheap ammo, simple addition of mag extensions. Great starter division too, what I think Production was originally aimed at. New guy buys a Glock 34/Canik Rival/Sig P320, mag extensions, and they are completely competitive equipment-wise.
  19. I think we're in a perfect storm right now. CO comes along with dots and and hi cap, ammo goes sky high, primers become unavailable. 9mm starts to be reasonably affordable, every gunmaker has an optic ready model. This is all come together to make CO THE division everyone wants to be in. So, for God's sake, leave CO as we have it now alone. We finally have something the majority of USPSA enjoys. That never happens. Make Timmy Division, so the Staccatos with dots in Safariland hooded holsters tied down with leg straps and battle belts can play.
  20. I honestly skipped the middle 7 pages of this, but does anyone think making production w/140mm mags like CO would bring some more shooters back to it? I'd be more inclined to try it. Heck, if it was 15rd. like IPSC, I'd be more inclined. Just my own observation and opinion. Boomstick, you beat me to it by seconds!
  21. I love the Norma 124 also. It is not 1180 at the chrono like the box says, closer to 1050fps. I shot it at 4 majors last year, and made 130pf each time. Perfect. When on sale, I get it for around $13.99/box. I run a 10# recoil and and 10# hammer spring in my S2. The primers must be pretty soft, I've never had a light strike.

I'd been more excited if the DWX had been produced. That's the gun everyone wants.
  23. I have a set of brass SSI Scales that I wanted to tone down. I found a can of spray on truck bed liner at Rural King. I sprayed 2 coats on and let air dry for a couple hours, then baked in my air fryer/toaster oven at 400* for 40 minutes. The finish is a little glossy, but better than the brass. The spray has a sandy grit in it, and seems tougher than Krylon. I’ll get some pics.
