  1. I have the 407K GR. I like the big 5 or 6 moa green dot, no circle.
  2. Pretty much that easy. Watch the several YouTube videos. The best tip I found was to tie the hammer back with a rubber band, frees up a hand.
  3. I ended up not needing the mag well, all the stages were 24 rounds or less. But cocked and locked was cool. I had to get the big safeties from Eric Graffuel from France. Even with shipping, it was cheaper and available than any source in the US.
  4. I shot my Shadow 2 yesterday at a local. I added a Boss Components magwell and G10 grips, had changed the safeties to wide paddles on both sides, and shot it cocked and locked. It rocked! I've been shooting it in CO for the last 3 years, so the dot was right where I had been used to seeing it, and the huge magwell just locked my grip in. Last month I got a great deal on a 5" Prodigy, which has been 100% reliable for me, but I'm going to run the Shadow 2 for the remainder of the season.
  5. I just checked out the pics of magwells on Cheely's site, and I'm not sure. I'll try post a pic when I get home from work. I know it's the magwell that came with the grip, because I never changed it.
  6. I’m using Gen 1 STI tubes and Dawson +1 bases, Grams guts. I get 23rds. and they lock in the grip. I have one Gen 2 tube, same set up that works great. I have a set of Gen 1 SV tubes that work as well, but are too long for the gauge. Maybe the plastic insert is different in some magwells?
  7. The magwell that comes with the grip works with Dawson base pads. At least on my gun. Do you have reason to think they don’t?
  8. I had the shorter gun, the Match Master. It was rated for major ammo. The Steel Master was similar, but was built for Steel Challenge minor loads. The Match Master felt great in the hand, but was pretty flippy. I just don't think it was comped right. I sold it and stuck with my 5" guns with Jared comps.
  9. The X Macro is factory milled for this sight cut, at least mine is. You could try shimming up the sight in the cut. I've used an aluminum can that I cut a small piece from to shim up an optic. Hillbilly, but it worked.
  10. I "de-Prodigy'd" my 5" because I had the parts laying around and didn't have to buy anything. I replaced the grip with a Cheely E2 with an STI poly trigger, and STI hammer, sear, and disconnector, titanium strut, and a generic stainless ambi safety. I got the AOS plate from Optics Planet for $47 and put on a Deltapoint Pro.
  11. My Prodigy/Duramag that came with my gun worked out of the box as well. I could tell the feed lips had been deburred, as the coating was gone and bare metal was exposed. The lips were in spec, and smooth. I'd buy more 20 round Duramags is I needed them and they were available, and the price was right.
  12. Capacity. With a Grams kit and Dawson extension, I get 23. I think that’s what an Atlas gets. I was talking about the Prodigy/Duramag.
  13. Once you add a decent base pad and spring kit, you’re nearly at Atlas or Staccato prices.
  14. I got the Boss Components magwell and grips from Shooters Connection. It’s ok, but I couldn’t pass on a great deal on a Springfield Prodigy, so the S2 is in the safe for a while.
  15. I'm sorry everybody, it was the other hated website, Optics Planet. I went back and back ordered the RMR plate too.
  16. Close, but it’s Accurate Plating and Weaponry. And I concur, their hard chrome is the best.
  17. I picked up a DPP plate from Botach for $47. I know, Botach. But I got it in 3 days.
  18. Easy way to tell if your cut is Bomar, the elevation screw goes into a threaded hole in the slide. The LPA cut, the elevation screw goes into dovetail part of the sight itself. To the OP, the easiest way is to get the EGW. Excellent company, excellent product. You won't be disappointed. I have the Bomar EGW on an SV slide for LO.
  19. A little. They have a rock guard, but I do feel the gravel. Most of my local clubs are gravel bays, and I'm always looking for a better shoe to suit the ranges I shoot at. I do want to look at the Merrell Nova high top. I'd really like to find a high top for ankle support, but super lightweight. The Merrell Moab was too heavy.
  20. I've been getting the Inov-8 Mudclaw and X-Talon. They are wider than Salomon for sure, but I do have to go up one size. The lugs are 8mm, actually longer than the Speedcross.
  21. I doubt the screw was ever intended to be an over-insertion stop. The Henning extension, which the TF is based on, uses a spring-loaded detent that is much shorter than either screw. TF probably just sourced screws from a different vendor that day. I've noticed TF does different machining styles on the same extensions at various times. I've had some that were anodized after all the cuts, some before the cuts, leaving raw exposed aluminum, some with no cuts at all. Lock your slide back and insert each mag and see if you are bumping the ejector with the short screw extension. I bet you are fine. I use Grams guts so my slides never lock back.
  22. If I still had my Limited major guns sitting around, I'd for sure dot them and shoot LO. 20rd. of 40 minor or 23 or 9 minor, you're still going to need a reload on a field course one way or another. Get them out and enjoy them! But I doubt they ever go major/minor scoring. Just no market for 40 major guns anymore, in bulk.
  23. How about since they allow magwells in LO, we make it a 10rd. limit, and make them reload like a production shooter, then roll it into CO. No need for a separate division.
