  1. Especially if you use a U die. So much easier!
  2. I use a cardboard tray that holds a dozen cans of dogfood or similar before they go on the shelf. I make sure the cases are on their sides, then a couple blasts of One Shot Case Lube. That lube will migrate around the cases in a minute. Then into the case feeder. One Shot leaves a little to no residue.
  3. Jose, I figure if people don't come for whatever reason they come up with, more slots for us! CO is hot in Ohio now, between us and the folks from KY, PA, MI that fill our locals every week, we'll have a great match.
  4. I read your story, and understand you wanted a silver PVD. I’m wondering from a mechanical/metallurgical standpoint, is there a reason PT couldn’t HC their Honcho builds? And avoid these crappy coaters.
  5. Is there a reason a Honcho can’t be hard chromed? APW for the win on my open gun!
  6. On the on the lens housing on the sides, was the Trijicon logo in raised lettering or was the logo painted on or a decal? My SRO has raised lettering, and pics of the ones on reputable sites are also. I've seen pics of supposed SRO's with the painted-style logo, and was suspicious.
  7. Would you mind posting a pic of it for education of the rest of us? Just so many fakes running around out there.
  8. I think this is it, for the most part. When I started in 1995, there were few 9mm shooters. Major was 175, Super/Super Comp in Open, 45 for everything else. With the advent of Production, CO, PCC and more A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want shooter than before, 9mm brass is everywhere. Last time I bought it, it was in 5 gallon buckets. Just not worth picking up for the cost of it. My own .02
  9. They’re ok, but I’d prefer some changes for a CO gun: bigger lens, bigger moa dot, bigger adjustment buttons. I do like the green reticle options.
  10. I started with a 1911 .45 in 1995. Limited had just started, and soon after Robbie won Ltd. Nationals with a Springfield 1911 and 10rd. Wilson mags. I then got an STI in .40 and 18rd. mags. I could still see iron sights, and made A. I got my first open gun in 2003, it's still in the safe. When CO started with 10rd. mags, I got in the ground floor with a Tanfo Ltd. Pro and a dovetail mount. Hardly anyone was shooting CO. But, Production was well represented at matches still. When the CO mag limited went up, it exploded around here. I'd guess 75% of our local matches is CO. Production is all but dead. I think the only thing that will keep it from ending up like Revo, SS, and Ltd. 10 is bumping the mag cap to 15. But does it really need saved? People want to shoot what they want, not counting people that shop divisions to hide from the heat. I love CO. Minor scoring forces accuracy, the dot fosters speed. The capacity makes it about shooting, not reloading every 3 steps. The 9mm minor is easier on guns, cheap to reload, or factory ammo is readily available again. You can get a very competitive gun with a Canik or Glock, or spend Ltd. gun money on a trick Shadow 2. It checks all the boxes that make the sport fun. If they made 2011's CO legal, I'd do it cause I have one, but I'd still get beat by the same guys beating me now.
  11. I’ve done that, and have never heard Boo from anyone. Sigh.
  12. Has it happened again since you replaced the extractor and spring? Sounds like you may have fixed it. I've had the same problem, replaced last week with Cajun extractor and spring. Running it this Sunday, fingers crossed. Is that an Eemann Tech safety in the pic?
  13. Sorry, been so busy, not on here a lot. Yes, I removed the front sight and reinstalled the pin to keep the bushing in place. I had fired a magazine's worth of ammo before putting the pin back in, and noticed the bushing had started to walk out. Just use the right sized punch, it's really very simple.
  14. This is a reason. I always thought Production was the hardest division, not a "beginner" division by any means.
  15. Honestly, it sounds like your aren't a serious competitor, and you want a one gun, do everything. If you want to be more serious about competition, the SRO is my choice. A night stand gun doesn't have to be duty rated. It just has to work when you pick it off the night stand. The SRO will do that, plus be optimal at the range. Aaron has provided a service with his drop tests, but mission drives the equipment. Most won't need that high a level of durability. I have an SRO on my Shadow 2 for CO. I have an RMR on my Glock 19 and a 507C on my M&P that I carry at work.
  16. I did this last night rather than grind the blade down, just much easier. Roll pin is perfect fix.
  17. So the pin DOES do something other than hold the front sight in?
  18. I'm new to the Shadow 2, been shooting Legions last several years. I have an SRO low mounted in a slide cut, so low my smith had to cut a flat so the "snorkel" of the SRO would not touch the slide. My front sight was taking up so much space in the lens, I thought I'd try shooting with it off. What is the harm in shooting with the front sight out of the dovetail? Does the pin hold the bushing in? I know nothing of the mechanics of this gun, but love shooting it.
  19. I think the MG tubes, whether with or without the CZ logo, will say "Made in Italy" somewhere on them also.
  20. On a 22 with non-reciprocating slide, it should be fine, but I've had 3 Vortex red dots, and have sent all back for repair for different things. Their warranty is excellent, but it gets used a lot. I'd recommend the Fastfire over the Vortex dots. Same no BS warranty, and the 8 moa dot is more better for steel.
  21. I bought a used FFIII for 8moa for $129. They're only $229 new. Big dot even better for steel challenge.
  22. I bought the 13 coil spring kits and cut a couple coils off. Shooters Connection has them in stock.
  23. I dropped a 10# mainspring in my otherwise stock backup S2, and brought my DA pull to 5#, and SA to 2.5#. It’s setting off old Wolf pistol primers reliably. It doesn’t have the reach reduction or short reset of my main gun, but it’s fine as a backup. I also added the Cajun long firing pin.
  24. I’m using TF extensions on 17rd. tubes, Grams guts gives 23, factory spring and cut down follower were 22.
