  1. My wife needs to go to Utah the 2nd weekend in Oct. She asks if I want to go to St. George. I'm thinking it's a great opportunity to shoot. I can't find any matches listed. The obvious one is SUPS, but they are 1st and 3rd weekend. Does anyone know of a USPSA match that I could drive to from there on that weekend? Vegas?
  2. I sent an old 1st gen. DP in the middle of June. Still haven't gotten the replacement. I need to call, the email I got said 24 days.
  3. No experience with the specific Springfield, but I had the PM9, and a Loaded Springfield .45. The PM9 was very nicely fitted, no MIM, checkered, and just a plain step above the rest of the production 1911s on the market. The RO will work just fine, and the added cost for the nicer gun may not be worth it to you.
  4. Couldn't wait any longer, popped on a Sig 320 X5 with the Gray Guns trigger.
  5. Maks, how is the Shield attached to the slide in the CO pic on the first page? Is it milled in, or a dovetail mount? I'm interested in another steel CO gun.
  6. I understand all the points made, but, we used to have a local RO that would interupt my making ready to tell me to put the safety on. This was while I was still inserting and taking out the mag to make sure it was dropping free, pushing back the top round, checking chamber, etc., stuff we all do and have seen done. I wasn't even near ready to go to the holster. It was so annoying, I avoided squading with him. I think I agree more with Sarge. After the make ready command, it's the shooter's time to do what he will within the rules. If he goes outside the rules, he owns it. Shooters need to put on their big boy pants. If you screw up and get DQ'd, it isn't the end of the world. Learn to never do it again, and move on. I've been DQ'd a couple times, and I corrected what was needed, and I still come back. No hard feelings.
  7. Dawson adjustable rear & fiber optic front is very popular.
  8. Made in England by same company that makes the JPoint. Metal instead of plastic. Very light. It's relatively new compared to the JPoint & RMS. A friend has one mounted on a Walther that he likes. Too new to have a competition track record, but it's pedigree is good.
  9. I saw that too, I bet it's longer than 140. I got a Magpul 21rd. mag that's 140, I doubt the 24 is the same length.
  10. But now it's a truer representation of what you are actually able to do on demand. I know it sucks, but these youngins' are just getting better all the time. I'm wondering when I'll petition to have my classification dropped down. Probably sooner than later.
  11. I forgot i did have to change grips on my Stock II. I used the SSI Scales. You will save a lot of weight swapping out the CZ aluminum to something lighter.
  12. Are the listed factory weights with a mag I wonder? I had set up an SP01 Shadow, not a Shadow 2, for CO too. Weight was not an issue with a dovetail mount & Deltapoint Pro. But it felt crowded, I just liked the grip on the Tanfos better. The CZ guide rod ran fine, no issues, & nothing lighter out there.
  13. If it's on the production list, it's CO legal, BUT it still has to weigh a max of 45oz. with an empty mag. The Stock III & Shadow 2 will need milling to make the weight limit. People have done it, but just be aware. I set up a Stock II with a dovetail mount & a Vortex Viper, Henning +4 bases & a plastic CZ guide rod that weighed 44.8oz. The discontinued Limited Pro was a perfect CO gun.
  14. No, I said I would complain, meaning I'd say to his face, in a polite as possible fashion, that I'd like to follow the USPSA rule book, and only those rules, for the duration of the match. I guess if he WERE the MD, I'd technically be complaining to the MD. But, there was clarification made that he was making a request, not a rule, so I would live with that. Attitude that "requests" are made with can't be interpreted through a keyboard, and I'll assume that the request was made genuinely and not while wearing an Asshat.
  15. Any word if these are available yet? Late spring has passed, summer's here...
  16. This whole thread is why I've backed off PCC this year. Because I shoot to have fun, not to deal with the hate, disrespect, rudeness, local rules. Area 5 won't even offer PCC this year cause he hates PCC. An area match! How about we observe an obey the written rules. They're fine.
  17. As long as your kind requests jibe with the current rules, that's great. But don't make up your own rules to satisfy a private definition of what's safe. It's not fair to shooters that are new to the club to have to deal with local rules that are not published. And if I were visiting your club, I would complain. Because it's not supported by the rules.
  18. Looks like a new frame. They have a thicker trigger guard & shorter less upswept beavertail.
  19. I heard the Zev base pads were too long to fit the gauge. Can you confirm they fit?
  20. I'm sorry, I'm trying to get where you're going here, but I think most of us are lost. There is no advantage with a plastic gun, but that isn't to say plastic isn't competitive. Max keeps winning with a 320 X5. Are you saying there IS an advantage or there should be? Are you unhappy with the 45oz. weight? I'm sure what you are trying to convey is clear to you, but we aren't getting it.
  21. Those weren't on there when I looked last week. Must have made more. Glad they aren't discontinued, they are $10 cheaper than Brownells price. But, I doubt I go with any extensions on factory mags with Magpuls available for $19, $17 with the LEO discount.
  22. I'm using Fed. SP Magnum. Read they are the same as Fed SR, just repackaged. 100% with a 17# mainspring.
  23. The dull mag has the Anti Friction Coating, AFC. When I had my Shadow, I used the AFC mags. They did not require oil to not rust. I preferred them to the shiny blued mags.
