  1. I understand. There are others as skilled as him that advise against it.
  2. The path your hand takes to the grip of the pistol is significantly different between a scoop draw and what I call a regular draw when the hand goes up over the grip and comes down onto the backstrap. Yes there are a lot of external differences between drawing from a concealment holster vs a sport holster, but despite all of those differences the path my right hand takes to the gun is the same.
  3. I thought so too but wanted to ask rather than assume. I'm not into learning two radical different ways to grab my pistol, one for some games and one for other games and for when the s#!t hits the fan
  4. Is the south side of Chicago far enough north in Illinois? Plenty of capping going on there
  5. Question for those of you who use a scoop draw in USPSA. Do you carry a pistol concealed on you? If you do, have you found a way to reliably draw a pistol using a scoop from a concealment holster while clearing the garment covering the pistol? And if you do use a scoop draw from concealment, what measurable improvement in draw time have you noticed?
  6. I wish every idiot that I've who has made 20 excuses as to why they don't shoot competitively would read your post. Well freaking done. Keep on keeping on.
  7. Holy s#!t that's the time to stay away from their rifle range
  8. And if street price is even 75% of the $5000 MSRP I doubt you'll see many takers.
  9. Reminds me of this guy
  10. It would help if there were clubs within reasonable driving distance. ICORE's website shows only one club within 2 hrs of here (my max for a one day match) and when I go to its website, there is zero mention of ICORE in their list of matches or club calendar.

  12. Whatever you do, do not live within the city limits of Minneapolis itself.
  13. At least plastic pipe doesn't send ricochets all over the place when hit......SMH
  14. Just goes to show that neither Joyce Wilson nor anyone running that shitshow have a clue about real world accountability. It's all about "if USPSA goes right, we go left"
  15. it absolutely is when you're ignoring things that drag you down even further.

  17. You look like one of those guys who learned to shoot the tacticool "riding the reset" way. Memphis Mechanic nailed it. Forget all that tactical bulls#!t and slap the s#!t out of the trigger. Also listen to his advice on what to work on. Splits ain't it unless you're here to try to hundo some timmy drill like FAST or one of the myriad timmy drills on B8 repair centers
  18. I just started in USPSA this spring and am a Production C class shooter finishing mid pack in fields of about 50 - 60 shooters in local USPSA matches. I went to an IDPA match last weekend and finished 10/40 overall and 6/26 in SSP. I would think that indicates that playing IDPA to get better at USPSA is a dumb idea.
  19. Case hardening is still done today by pretty much everyone (including S&W) on the parts that they have decided need it, even if you don't see the colorations left on the unfinished steel by the bone and charcoal method. There are many ways to case harden steel, including every amateur gunsmith's favorite "finish": nitriding (which is not a finish in any way, shape, or form). To be completely honest most of the old school "knowledge" is probably BS, as it's virtually impossible to tell a through hardened part from a case hardened part just by looking at them. But I'm sure someone will tell me they read so and so on the internet so what would I know.......
  20. There it is Reloading without a chronograph is like driving at night with the headlamps off
