  1. The biggest test is if you hang around after you are DQ'd and help your squad pick up brass and patch targets or tail between the legs and go home sulking.
  2. I know a guy who went all the way to Sth Africa for the World Shoot as a National rep ( southern part of the world ) and got DQ'd on the first stage so I would be worried about $75. Don't worry too much about it get back on the range and move on. As some of the guy's have already said it's not if you get DQ'd it's when.
  3. blackhawks work ok over here, you must be talking about some deep mud
  4. Not sure what USPSA SS rules are but IPSC rules state: "Rear adjustable sights may be slightly depressed during insertion." probably depends on your interpretation of slightly
  5. There you go I'm an IPSC shooter we allow them in all Divisions as long as they comply to positioning .
  6. The Global Village scenario is a bit different to this one being discussed: "Here's the scenario: a competitor is in Production Division. While shooting a stage, the RO counts that he fired 17 rounds without reloading (i.e. 1 in the chamber, 16 in the magazine). The RO bumps the competitor to Open Division, and the competitor accepts the decision, even though it was a brain fade, not intentional." "However, two hours later, the subject stage is cancelled due to a mover becoming irreparably broken. The competitor hears about this, so he appeals to the RM to be reinstated to Production Division because the stage where he had a capacity advantage is gone" "The competitor also argues that an equipment breach is not like a Match DQ for an unsafe action."
  7. These new magnet ones from DAA seem ok I'm trying one out this weekend
  8. He was probably just trying to help so that you don't damage anything in the future. Almost doesn't fit doesn't mean anything, it's when you can't fit the gun in you need to worry. Taking a few mm of base pads won't effect them but will help getting the gun in the box easier.
  9. Well I know that when any of us Aussies go to an international match as a team member or not they feel they are a representative of the country
  10. There was a fairly long and robust debate (argument) on the IPSC Global Village about this and it was mainly a US shooter complaining about the proposed higher dress standard being enforced at the awards dinner. "Also remember that when you attend a World Shoot, you're representing your country. That alone should be reason enough to dress appropriately!" That line sums it up nicely I would think.
  11. Try this Customfit 568 from Safariland, I use one of these on my "race" rig and a Galco Avenger on my "Classic" rig
  12. Wilsons Elite 10 rounders with ETM bases in my 9mm STI Spartan no problems
  13. Anyone know which of the Adj rear sights (Novak or Dawson) will fit a Springfield loaded sight cut?
  14. tooth paste on the rails may help, it is an abrasive after all. It worked on a Norinco I had a few years back. But it does get a bit messy and don't forget to floss
  15. DQ = it's not if you will be it's when
  16. Global Village has a copy of the proposed changes that were sent to the RD's. Question on the GV today "New to this forum, but been IPSC competing for 2 years. CD is all my wife an I shoot......and with a heavy investment in 1911's (SV, LBaer, ST), I certainly hope its around for awhile...." Answer from VP "Don't worry about it. Only one region voted against it being accepted on a trial basis, but I forecast 100% support to make it permanent."
  17. From the current IPSC rulebook "This Division is under evaluation and, unless extended, it will expire on 31 December 2014." The update version for the 2015 rulebook has this statement struck out. So my feeling is the Div is here to stay.
