  1. I take them with my old brass once a year to the metal recycler in town. Go home normally with a $20 note and some change....
  2. Got this one myself and also got a set of control weights: https://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Scales-Calibration-WGHTKIT/dp/B003STEJAC/ref=zg_bs_4989308011_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=PM2BBE5WT045PR62F3CA Since I also have access to analytical balances at my job, I double checked on the calibration weights and they are right on.
  3. Precision Delta for jacketed bullets, check out the price for 2000. 1K bullets (124 gr) are $112, but if you go for 2K, they come down to $88/1000 and free shipping.
  4. Guess we are probably driving a car out there, I could pack primers and powders and some guns in it. Have the boxes for the presses left, so they could be in the moving stuff with ammo components (lead, brass). Need to find a mover that is willing to move most of the guns. Probably in the Buckeye - Goodyear area.
  5. So, after visiting our son and family in AZ, my wife and I really considering moving there when I retire in one to a couple of years. Right now we are at the east coast, so this move is pretty much across the whole USA. How can we move with our guns (mainly hand guns), ammo and all my reloading stuff (powder, primers, presses etc, the whole enchilada of reloading). I know that a "normal" moving company will not move such stuff. They wouldn't even move our gas bottle for the grill on our last move. If anybody has some knowledge, I would appreciate if I could get some pointers. Thanks
  6. They come in 1.1 lbs containers, never seen anything larger.
  7. RCBS, got it off Amazon, using it on a basic Lee Breech lock press. I also have the "hammer", but found that the collet puller is the best way - and i do not screw up a lot, but like ease and convenience of the collet when I do. This grip and pull was my first, and I do not find it very easy to use.
  8. Have one, but switched to a collet puller and this works much better.
  9. This sparked mu interest, so I went to the basement and loaded some tubes. I found one "not so red" primer in three tubes I loaded. Odd, but it seems that red stuff is some sealant material and in the case where it is less red, it looks like the top has flaked off. I took two pictures, the primer in question is the second from the left on the lowest row.
  10. Why would a brass primer lead to corrosion in a brass round??
  11. I never spray the lube on the cases. I spray a couple squirts into the ziplock baggie and then add the brass and shake and "massage". If one sprays directly onto/into the brass, then I would think this could happen that the lube is still wet inside some brass.
  12. I worked for decades in a chemical lab and for the last twenty + years or so we using digital scales. Never heard of any interference from fluorescent lights or cell phones. Our scales are placed very much under the lights for best visibility....I agree that any air movement from a fan, open window etc. will be bad! But this applies to either digital or mechanical scales.
  13. Agree, they truly look odd, way too dark for brass (unless it is aged outside .....), they look more like coated steel.
  14. There are two bullet seater stems included, one for round nose and one for flat nose, maybe this may cause the shaving, check out which one is in. As far as the crushing of the brass, if you do not insert the brass all the way into the shell plate this may happen, a little out and it can crush the brass.
  15. Small 1 mL syringe, apply a few drops around the shaft. the 1 mL last for a few applications.
  16. I use my riding gloves when they start to get old, they are very thin and one has a great feeling with them, I always use theses: https://www.doversaddlery.com/ssg-digital-riding-gloves/p/X1-39058/ One of the main reasons I use them is to avoid the GSR on my hands, I shoot a lot of revolvers.
  17. The cheapest I have got them at a Cabela's store was $17.99 (had a coupon!!). They are good to use, never had a problem. This week, they were $24.99, but normally I had bought them for $20 or so. Cabela's does not ship these things into my state (NJ), but I am lucky enough driving by the store in Hamburg often enough on business trips. Always stop and check on primers....and pick some up when the price is right.
  18. Where?? When I used to live in Brownstown (down river) I use to go to the store in Dundee, was about 35-40 minutes. Why build they a new store so close?? Good for you, though. But there was also a Bass Pro shop in Auburn Hills.
  19. Just a simple table structure, I got some brackets from HD, some 2x4 and made a simple table. I used this as an assembly table when I made furniture in the past. Really nothing fancy, but it works fine. Used to have a big workshop, but now I am very limited to space. Lower shelf holds my compressor, nail guns and hose wheel for compressed air.
  20. My table top are two quarter sheets of MDF screwed together, so the thickness is about 1.5". The top is mounted on a table structure I built from 2x4. Two 550 and one SQD are on the bench.
