  1. I looked to day in my powder stash, and I found three pounds of 4756, another universal IMR powder.
  2. that's a cushy seat right now....you should be happy!!
  3. Just ordered some!! Checking daily a few times, I thought they must show up soon. And they did this afternoon. Wonder how long they last...
  4. The best primers right now are the ones you can find, independent of the maker....
  5. I take the 550 ten times over the Lee Turret. Had it, and it takes four strokes for each round, while the 550 does four rounds at the same time: size/deprime-powder/belling-bullet seat-crimp. The Lee does every step uniquely. I was lucky to get some 150-200 rounds per hour on the Le, but do easily 500 on the 550 (I have primer tubes prepared). Also, priming is a pita on the Lee.
  6. They just arrived!! The FEDEX woman is strong, she carried both boxes from the truck to my garage. Some 70 lbs....
  7. No online. I always check, sometimes twice daily what is available. They also send out emails to customers that have an account there what they have on hand. One must be quick, though. When you go to "Products', they show what is available, but it sells out fast. Had no luck to buy 9 mm.
  8. Ordered again from Precision Delta this past Saturday, and just got the shipping memo; they should arrive on Wednesday, so this would be 5 days from order to delivery!
  9. Is your target square to the gun?? Slightly angled cardboard may show similar pattern.
  10. from postal service website, I underlined the two, I guess primers would fall under explosives Domestically Prohibited Items These items may not be sent in U.S. mail: Air Bags Ammunition Explosives Gasoline Marijuana (medical or otherwise)
  11. Yup, ship on the same truck...Have seen it a few times when stuff arrives at my employer (chemical company...).
  12. looks like something is not working right now on the site....I had issues yesterday to get on it, and now the posts are not update on the front page - this here shows updated some 20h ours ago and there are several post after it, weird.
  13. if a plastic bucket, do not try to lift it....it may break from the weight...
  14. Two 550's here, run setups for 9, .45, 357 mag and 38 spl. Use Dillons and also Lee die sets. 9 and 45 have lee undersize die as first step.
  15. Get a scale!! Make sure your dipping spoon has the correct size. Measure your volume in the dipper and then weigh it!! Make sure you can reliable do this for the reloads. Or get a press with a decent powder measure! I used Titewad (yes, Titewad) and it is a very soft recoiling powder, I use 3-3.2 gr for 158 bullets
  16. So, my order from the 18th of September (late afternoon ordered) arrived today. This time they used USPS flatrate box. Arrived here safe and sound, took three days from shipping on the 22nd to arrive here on the 25th. The use a doubled flatrate box, so two boxes clamped together with the metal clamps they use to close the bullet boxes. Inside again the bullet boxes and the bullets safely inside a very sturdy thick plastic bag that is taped shut and no heat sealed. Great bullets, great service, great packaging = great company!!
  17. Put a second order in with PD on the 18th - this time .38 spl, they shipped with USPS and are supposed to be here today. Lets see how this one looks when it arrives. I think they decide on the shipper based on the weight of the order. This one will still fit into a flat rate box - weight wise.
  18. I printed this out and it hangs above my presses!! This is an excellent visual example to make sure your reload fits the barrel of the gun you intend to use it with. Just had gotten a new bullet in (DG coated) and used it the same way as my PD FMJ or ACME coated, but the reload did not work in my HK, but they were fine with my 1911. So, I checked, and the reload sticks just a tad out, like in picture D top. So, I adjusted the col and now it fits perfect. The original PD and ACME were 1.27, but the DG needed 1.22 - quite a difference. Lesson learned and I will always check in the future that the reload fits the chamber of the gun it will be used with. Or, make your reloads so they will fit all your guns. Great visual material, and everyone should keep a copy.
  19. Yes, they are well packed: the bullets are in a very sturdy plastic bag, taped well shut, then this goes into their cardboard bullet box, and this box just fits very well into the FEDEX boxes. Another company known for excellent packaging is ACME Bullets in WI. Their bullets are packed in a plastic bag which then is placed in a wooden (!!) box and this is fitted into the USPS flat rate box. Never had any issues with either.
  20. And here they are: ordered on the 14th September, delivered today on the 17th just after 2 pm. Love they ship with FEDEX. Four boxes of bullets...Precision Delta rocks...
