  1. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-0-01g-Digital-Scale/dp/B0012LOQUQ/ref=pd_sim_79_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0SFQENGAP5W4T82ECTF7 I have tested it with several items I weighed side by side on the analytical scales in the company I work for. The results were outstanding! I weighed several small items, like a small paper clip, some small coins, little pieces of thin cardboard stock on the analytical balance (which was just calibrated for quality recording purposes) and found that the American Weigh scale gives me the same weights for the items as the analytical balance. I did this in the gram setting as well as the grain setting (had to calculate the grains from the weight I got from the analytical balance and compare to the grain weight I got from the little gadget). I made sure I tested a lot of smallish weights, in the 2 - 10 grain range - this should cover me for all my needs (at the moment) for reloading. For the price, this one cannot be beat!!
  2. One shot as well. A couple sprays into a plastic sandwich bag, add some 100-150 rounds to it, and "smush/shaking" around for a short while. One feels the difference.
  3. I got some 8 lbs of spent primers collected over the time I am reloading. Would like to get rid of them, what is the best way?? Just toss them in the garbage, or take them to a scrap yard?? I assume they are made from brass and nickel plated, or?
  4. Was the only powder I found last year when I started to re-load. Still use it for .45 acp, and use 6.4-6.6 gr for 230 gr extreme plated bullets. It is not a bad powder, though. I was able to pick up then some 5 # and still have a couple left.
  5. Use it for .45 acp. Was the only powder I got last year January when I started to reload. Stuck with it as it was the only one I could find in several stores. Not a bad powder. Do not have comparison to many powders, but from the three I use (CFE Pistol, Titewad, Longshot) it is the dirtiest, but not as bad as some say.
  6. I think I paid something like $160 when I picked up 8 # Titegroup not too long ago. Some dealers getting a golden nose with the prices they charge.
  7. Stopped at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA today. They had quite a selection, but I did only recognize Longshot (I think it was $28.99) and 700 for $199 for the 8 pounder.
  8. That's what I heard in my store, the owner said "end of 2015 if they are lucky".
  9. Looks like it is getting better...was able to pick up a 8# canister of Titegroup at a local store last Saturday. When I walked in I saw two of them, but the guy who was walking in in front of me got the other one. So, I was lucky. They also had all kind of 1# around. However, there is a lot of rifle powders on the shelves wherever I go.
  10. Wow, that's a steep price!! I bought some very clean and polished brass on Amazon from Smith and Werder for $28/1000.
  11. Danke!! German myself, but live in the USA.
  12. Its says just: Blazer 45 Auto or Federal 45 Auto, nothing else. From the look of it, it could come from the same maker, letters seem to be identical. Anyway to use them, or should I dump it?
  13. I have several hundred small primer brass for .45 acp. Just tried to reload them, and I am having an extreme problem of getting the small primers in. Measured the hole in a couple of de-primed cases and the primer pocket is 4.35/4.37 mm, but the Remington SP primers are measuring 4.45 mm. Not any problem with 9 mm, but these primers will not seat into the too small pockets of the .45. What should the size of the primer hole be?? The brass is both Blazer and Federal. Any idea??
  14. In my Square Deal, the Remington primers are fine, not much of a problem with stuck primers. However, when using CCI's I get stuck primers in the tubes from time to time. Just got a new 9 mm press the other day and used the CCI's I had bought some time ago (no problem with them in the Lee system), and the first tube filled had one stuck which could not get out. Normally, it is sheer impossible to get them out, so the tube needs to be discarded. I had the same issues with CCi's in the .45 press.
  15. I like the Remington a lot. I have a lot of problems with CCI in my Square Deal - the primers get stuck in the primer tube of the press and also in the pickup tubes, this never happened with the Remington. Also, here the two are the ones I can find in the stores.
  16. Square Deal for .45acp and Lee Turret for 9 mm and maybe .38
  17. Longshot, 6.6 gr for 230 plated bullets. Was the only powder I was able to find in stores, and online, at the time. Now, it seems the supply gets better and more powders make it into the stores.
