  1. Does this have to do with them not being built to run 165 PF? I think I remember reading a disclaimer about that.
  2. Was that the Burner? My USPSA history doesn't go that far back.
  3. I heard that marking your inner belt can also help so you get it the correct width every time.
  4. Correct. I would not recommend Windows 8 RT.
  5. You might consider the Microsoft Surface tablets as well.
  6. Here is a good example. From the 2010 Monster Match. I was pretty surprised to see the ninja outfit and it took me a second to figure out that it was a special match and he was not an "operator" looking to conceal his identity. Under the old 5.3.1 you could make an argument for that not being proper attire for a USPSA match but I now see that rule has been updated. Old 5.3.1 The use of camouflage or other similar types of military or police garments is discouraged. The exception is competitors who are law enforcement or military personnel. The Match Director will be the final authority in respect of what garments competitors are allowed to wear. New 5.3.1 The uses of offensive or objectionable garments are not allowed. The Match Director will have final authority in respect of what garments competitors are allowed to wear.
  7. I see the prohibition on flashlights in Appendix D2 for Limited but it strikes me as being pretty strange. I see there is no restrictions for this in Open so I guess that makes it about the actual functionality and not the weight? Does that mean that an Open shooter could leave a mounted light on during any course of fire? Now sure that would be a benefit but it's interesting to note.

    Ever notice how...

I should mention that my comment was focused on stressful times in life; however, I think this shows up in a big way while shooting USPSA. For example, dwelling on previous errors during a stage can in effect compound them leading to the infamous "crash and burn." I related concept in the business world is that of sunk cost. A sunk cost is a cost that an entity has already incurred, and which it can no longer recover by any means. Because of this sunk costs are not relevant when considering whether or not to continue to invest in an ongoing project. It doesn't matter how much we have spent in the past, all that matters is what investments make sense at this point and time. Going back a bit more towards the original topic I think everyone knows someone who's life is in a constant state of crisis; however, others with similar trials seem to go on unscathed. The fact is bad things are going to happen and others will be unkind and selfish. That is something that we largely cannot control. What we can, however, control is how we react to these challenges and how much we let them affect us. I consider a major turning point in my life to be the day that I decided that I really didn't care what others thought about me because I liked myself and who I was. Others can take that or leave it but I refuse to let someone else's attitude affect my own sense of self worth.

    Ever notice how...

Similarly I have learned to reserve thinking for things I can affect. There is no sense in worrying about things outside of our scope of control or about things which have already happened. Focus needs to be on the here and now rather than worrying about what could or should have been.
  10. Did you say you only experience this when you are "on the clock?" If so then you are most likely doing something with your grip to slow the slide... or something.
  11. +1 This. I don't go to states with crappy gun laws and I go out of my way to vacation in those that do have good ones. I take issue with that logic. What you are in effect saying is "lets not support the shooting sports where they are most engendered, it will be ok if I hide my head in the sand over here, there is no way it is gonna come my way".. Thats exactly how we got the original nation wide AWB, it is faulty logic in my opinion. That's not what I'm saying at all; that's what you're saying. Keep your insults to yourself.I'm saying the politicans in some states don't want to acknowledge my constitutional rights. Accordingly I'm not going to give them any tax revenue. I'm an active paying member of the NRA. I'm an active paying member of Gun Owners of America. I'm an active paying member of the AZCDL. I partipate in the political process and regularly contact my representitives. Keeping my head in the sand? I was one of the people open carrying a waving around a "will not comply" sign on the steps of my state capital then mumblings of an AWB started last January. Where were you? It's not my job to fix your state; it's yours. I'm already putting money into the organizations that are trying to fix it for you. EDIT: Apologies if I'm came off too strong, but "I take issue" when someone tells me I'm keeping my head in the sand and am responsble for their loss of rights. Any chances you ate at Chipotle after the rally? If so that didn't help the cause.
  12. Given the same load a heavier gun will generally absorb more recoil so it could help you. A heavier gun will swing a bit slower so there is the trade off. Six inch slides are a bit more sluggish to cycle as well so many will have them lightened to the weight of a five inch. Overall it should be an easier gun to shoot when compared to your Glock and you shouldn't expect any negatives of moving except having to learn to manipulate the safety on demand.

    CZ 75/SPO1 Safety

I have seen free discussing here about the safety partially engaging when the hammer is down. You might check for that. I chose to train myself to ride my thumb on top of the safety so that if it was on for any reason then my normal drawstroke would disengage it. This gives you the added benefit of being able to shoot cocked and locked with no real modification to your normal draw (assuming legality with your division like ESPN, 3gun, Limited, etc.).
  14. Me too. I moved the attachment point to just behind my holster and that helped quite a bit.
  15. I have taken a file to mine on more than one occasion to try to get the front sight to clear without interference. I do with the sight channel was a bit deeper but I think I have removed enough material now that it isn't a problem any more.

    G34 ejection issues

Any chance you have video of you shooting? I am guessing it isn't just on the first shot of a topped off 10 round magazine with one in the chamber? Those 10 rounders are snug and can slow down the slide a bit but I usually see this type of a problem as being related to grip and recoil control.
  17. Seriously, you guys should try some type of liquid hand chalk. It's amazing how much it improves your grip on hot days. There are a few brands like ProGrip that are sold through your favorite shooting suppliers but I found something stuff called "Power Grip liquid hand chalk" on the shelf at my local Home Depot. It isn't quite as good but the convince of picking it up locally is a plus. After using this stuff on hot days going without feels like you are trying to shoot with a wet fish.
  18. No restrictions on cleats except in IDPA.
  19. I think the extended firing pin has been added to the Shadow builds in the last year or so. Greater chance that you have it if the gun is newer.
  20. Specifically the SP01 Shadow Custom. There are a few different versions of this but most notably is that ACCU Shadow which adds a bushing for accuracy and perhaps the "Target" model which has adjustable rear sights forward windage and elevation.
  21. An chance you could heat up and hammer out the ejector on an anvil to get a slightly longer length?
  22. Not legal:1.1.5.4 Medium or Long courses of fire may stipulate the use of either strong or weak hand, provided that only one hand, either strong or weak, is specified for no more than the last 6 shots required. Right, the only way to coerce this legally would be to start with something you had to carry first the first part of the stage.
