  1. I'm pretty sure that club's not breaking a single rule right now.......And I'm not aware of any DQ or other penalty in the Mid-Atlantic Section for anyone "breaking a local rule. I'm aware of some clubs that make requests, in the interests of being good neighbors -- but they're not presenting it as "Do this and you go home. Why? Local rule 1.x.x.y" It's always nice to hear from folks who've left for sunnier shores, but who still think they are in a position to offer applicable advice, even though they are ignorant of the circumstances on the ground. Vlad cares deeply about the game, and about having it played according to the rules and principles USPSA laid out. He's done far more work to make matches happen in the last decade than most people I know -- certainly far more work than I've put in during my tenure. Don't presume I am ignorant of the circumstances on the ground simply because I do not shoot at the particular range. I have been round and round with my local BOD over USPSA rules versus club rules. The current MD and I told them if they don't want USPSA matches held at the club, just say so and we'll shut down. Like Vlad, it would give me and the handful of others who setup and run the matches more time to play then we currently have.According to Vlad a range he knows of a range that doesn't allow loaded mags on your belt in a safe area during USPSA matches. That is a direct contradiction to USPSA rules. He didn't say it was a suggestion, as you put it. He said it was a local rule. If it is a suggestion, fine. If it is a DQable offense, not so fine. I am curious what the purpose of the rule is anyway. Did this club haven't some specific problem or did the MD feel some need to go the extra mile with safe areas? I can't imagine that this makes competitors safer. Heck, if you want to be that way then why even allow competitor's to carry ammo around unless they are actually on the line ready to shoot? Why not have them bag after each stage too because who feels safe with all these people walking around wearing guns?
  2. Looks like it says the non pivot foot can move. So... Can I reload on the move as long as I finish my reload in one step? For example I step to my left foot which becomes my pivot foot and then initiate and complete a reload as my right foot moves forward to take a step. The way I read this is that this would be a legal action as long as the reload has been competed before my left door comes off the ground. Is this correct?
  3. So I can reload on the move a long as I complete the reload on my first step?
  4. Actually you could send it back to make it a Target whichever involved milling of tg the slide. Slide milling for the purpose of adding sights is expressly permitted.
  5. So I can be moving when I reload as long as the reload is completed in one step?
  6. What the heck is cruiser ready? Is that defined somewhere in anyone's ruleset?
  7. An ultra custom gun that has had over 2,000 units produced and that you apparently can occasionally walk into random gun stores and find one behind the counter, up for sale and ready to race. In other words a high-end Production gun.
  8. 3gun rules are in shambles. It feels like most clubs just makes stuff up as they go along. I have also heard many say that they don't want or need large rules books but this is the perfect example of why you do need something more comprehensive.
  9. USPSA 3 gun rules cover not starting with ammo in the hand but I can't find a reference in 3GN or FNH rules. If it doesn't say it's not legal then it should be legal unless the stage description says otherwise. A lot of time people seem to fall back on USPSA pistol rules out of habit but they do not apply. I shot a stage yesterday that required all ammo to be on the tables and for the guns to be empty. It didn't specify anything beyond empty so most locked back slides to make loading faster.
  10. Maybe pivothead would work better. It's also a plus that they cost $199 versus $1,500
  11. There were some Tanfos trying to be sold for $3,000 on Enos not too long ago. Pretty sure I that is the reference
  12. Is that for me or him? That's for the guy in the vids you posted. You are lowering your center of gravity when you start moving, which is good. Then after you stop at the next position you stand up straight before making a shot. Stop doing that. Stay low while you shoot. You will waste less time setting up at each spot, and be faster to get moving to the next.Edit to add- Watched them again. Slo-mo magnifies the effect. Does not look as bad normal speed. Thanks, that's helpful.
  13. Maybe you could retrofit them to open Delorean style.
  14. It's definitely close. you might be able to argue a slight contour change at the bushing.
  15. Except now you can't tell at a glance which way the doors open. Perhaps that could be an advantage incase of house guests.
  16. Airsoft is almost more useful for the trigger reset than the recoil.
  17. You can audit that a change has occurred but can you tell who made the change? That is where it needs to go if not already capable.
  18. and identification to know who actually entered the password. I think authenticated entries would drive for more use of personal devices that are virtually networked together.
  19. It was this one http://w.iwebcenters.com/bbenterprise2/ecommerce/carver-handgun-scope-mounts/carver-glock-scope-mounts/competition-glock-scope-mounts/carver-competition-glock-c-more-mount.cfm
  20. I had a Carver a long time ago. That one had metal screws that went through the frame, replacing the standard locking block and slide stop pins. It worked well, especially given that it also locked down on the front rail.
  21. The ShotMaxx timer has a BlueTooth interface and while it doesn't work very well right now that seems like an obvious direction for the technology. It has good range but also imagine being able to automatically save all recorded shots, splits, and etc with the stage score. No more calling out times for transcription alone. The time would automatically populate in PractiScore.
