  1. 34s get pretty long when hanging a comp off of the front. Unless you are just going with a ported barrel then I would recommend a 17.
  2. I should also mention that reports on the 18 rounders is that they have weak springs and you should order the plus 10% springs from CZC in you run them but I haven't had problems running them stock. The springs on the 17 rounders should be good to go.
  3. I you have received reduced power striker springs in it then you should try to use Federal Primers. They have the softest priming cup and most sensitive priming compound and they are pretty much a must in you want a 2 to 2.5lb trigger on a Glock or M&P. The next choice would be Winchester. Unless you are running full power striker Springs you should avoid CCI.
  4. There is also pretty significant difference in the design of the CZC 18 rounders and the MecGar/CZC 17 rounders. The 17 rounders have a little tongue that comes up just in below the nose of the top round. Since the 18 rounders don't have this I have found that occasionally the round below the top round can work it's way out and cause the mag to not drop. I have noticed this only in dry fire practice where I am doing a lot of manipulation with the same few mags. I can post pictures in a bit. These are what I am running now. I liked the additional length of the 18 rounders for more grip surface but prefered the other features of the 17 rounders so I picked up some Springer base pads.
  5. I am shooting a lot at a club that's follows FNH rules. It seems like empty chamber starts are the norm.
  6. I have seen some drift and adjust sights to compensate for poor trigger control that pulls shots left and down. I have even seen some on this forum advocate for it. As long as you don't fall into the trap of adjusting your sights instead of learning to pull true then you should be okay.
  7. It does blow my mind that all of the Production legal Glock race triggers have visibly modified the engagement of the trigger safety at the back of the trigger. I guess since everyone is doing it DNROI looks the other way? He never responded to my email asking for clarification. How that could ever not be considered an external modification is beyond me.
  8. Not just work at home. You can send it back to CZC to do the work. Gives you an identical gun in every way but with one the work was done before you purchased it and with the other it is done after; one perfectly Production legal and the other not. This problem isn't exclusive to CZ ACCU bushings. You also can't do something as simple as run a Glock 34 slide on a Glock 17. I really think there needs to be a provision to allow for modification of one Production gun to be legal if made to be exactly like another Production gun.
  9. I am shocked to hear this. Rick was an outstanding guy and a true craftsman. My condolences go out as well.
  10. I think you can be competitive at the highest levels with the right CZ, Tanfoglio, M&P, or Glock as long an you can get a good trigger on it. There are a few others that look like they have a lot on potential too but as of now I would feel comfortable competing with any of the above. Just pick a platform and go practice.
  11. Any idea on cost? Looks expensive. It is not easy for me to find an outdoor range for chrono work so this would be nice.
  12. I was in the same bot. Consider a CZ Compact L or Compact Shadow as a G19 replacement. Difference between the two is one has a FPB.
  13. Three cheers for interpretations of rules that are actually in line with the rules initial objectives. In this case that is that you can't have a light in Limited and not that you couldn't clamp weight to the rail. Sometimes rules miss the mark of their intended objectives or develop a life of their own devoid of the original purpose for making the rule. Sometimes rules are poorly written or implemented and never achieve their intended objectives. I think it is useful to step back sometimes and ask why something is actually illegal given the current rules and see whether it still makes sense.
  14. The shooter technically could shoot strong hand only whenever he or she wants but if it's a mandatory s/w hand then you can only do it for the last 6 shots and can't require reloads or transitioning to the other hand once you have gone s/w hand. Several classifiers follow this formula by starting with free style followed by a mandatory reload and mandatory strong or weak hand for one string. I have always thought of this as a sort of legacy scenario-based USPSA rule in that shooting S/W hand is done in self defense scenario when the other appendage gets shot or becomes otherwise unusable. Once a limb becomes pretend nonfunctional during a string it wouldn't make sense to then require a transition to the opposite hand...at least this has been my assumption. There are safety concerns as well with switching hands extensively and I am glad that USPSA error on the side of safety for mandatory single hand strings when it comes to drawing the gun, changing magazines, clearing jams, and etc.
  15. Could you hang a reddot on a limited gun if the glass and laser components were removed? based on this it would see to fall into a similar category. The weight on the weapons light is not the reason that it is banned but it's because of the functionality itself. If that functionality is removed then you should be good to go based on this.
  16. Replacement of grip panels is with aftermarket is explicitly authorized. Reprofiling the grip is not. I am now saying that if makes sense but this does allow for a lot of leeway with Guns that accept grips as long as they don't make a make-shift magwell or add too much weight.
  17. RT is flopping in a big way. Rumor is that the start menu comes back in the next version of Windows. Dropping that to try to make Metro to happen was a bad idea.
  18. That's a nice way to say you totally broke it but they didn't have the heart to DQ you. Pretty sure I got a good look at rifling around 1:25. That aside it looks like you have a great start and can go far.
  19. This doesn't say that, I read this the opposite that unlike most 9mm, this can run 9 Major - minimum means 160 or more, no? "When configured with the compensator, the CZ 75 TS Czechmate model is designed to use ammunition that meets the minimum requirements for IPSC major power factor. The minimum power factor for major in IPSC open class competition is 160. Power factor is calculated by the following formula: Power Factor = (bullet weight (in grains) X muzzle velocity (in feet per second))/1000 IPSC minimum power factor for major is 160. USPSA minimum power factor for major is 165." Thanks. I interpreted that incorrectly.
