  1. This ^^^^ Get a good, inner/outer competition belt and your singles stay right where you want them to be. DAA, CR Speed, and Blade-Tech.
  2. It doesn't hurt the gun and that's the preferred method for dry fire with the P320.
  3. My P320 holster is made by Red Hill Tactical. I prefer the double layered kydex and you can use a Boss hanger or one of the high quality Red Hill Tactical/Springer Precision hangers. http://redhilltactical.com
  4. What do the VZ grips weigh? Also remember that you can remove the notch and post sights so that should buy you a little weight. If stuck with the plastic grips you could modify them by sanding them down and giving them a glue and grit job treatment.

An extra once or two on the 9mm slide can mellow out the recoil and improve sight tracking.

Why would you pair it with a full size cut down frame?JD It would give you a full grip on the gun, allow you to use the holster that you already own for a full size or Compact, and allow you to run the full 17 round magazines which would be easier to grab and reload. I imagine you could also control the recoil on a full grip slightly better than you could on a subcompact. It would be a $40 upgrade over the standard SIG P320 since that would be the cost of a new grip frame.

It's not melted. It's Devcon 290 black epoxy. That is step one for me to build on the front and the sides to blent with the STI magwell. It would have been much easier to fit the magwell on first and then just epoxy into the gaps with the magwell already in place. This would have an added benefit of better securing the magwell but it would also make it a permanent fixture on this grip. I wasn't ready to make that commitment yet so... The bottom right is the first picture with my initial application of the epoxy. Bottom left I shaved down the excess and once that was removed I added more epoxy which was again shaved down for the third picture on the middle right. I did that a few more times to get the basic form you see on the top left. This stuff actually cleans up very well and you will not be able to tell that the gun didn't come like that once I am finished. It just takes some time to make it pretty when my first priority was just to see whether it would work.
  9. I am going to a match tonight that has a CO shooter registered. I will be trying it out as soon as I get my optic.

Here is the magwell frame I have been working on. Just need to confirm that the taylor freelance fit right and then I will drill and pin it. Scott Springer also announced that he is putting out some mag wells including a 6 oz brass mag well. They are a modification off of his XDM mag wells and will require you to modify the grip frame to install.
  11. A good trigger job can easily be $200 or more.

I have one as well. Dropped a Timney 3lb trigger in it and I haven't had a single issue. Also replaced the grip with a magpul one and threw a Cmore on the top. Shoots very soft to say the least. Really fun gun but could use a stock. Can would be nice as well.
  14. Grand Power X-Calibur. It is supposed to come from the factory with a 5lb double action trigger pull and a 2 something lb single action pull.
  15. Yep, 10 sucks for us here in CA. But it is about 22% / one fifth of membership affected with restrictions if I got this correct: Total USPSA 24018 CA 2140 8.91% CO 747 3.11% CT 190 0.79% HI 246 1.02% MA 386 1.61% MD 305 1.27% NJ 429 1.79% NY 714 2.97% USPSA members in states with mag restrictions 5157 21.47% (derived from: http://www.doodieproject.com/index.php?/topic/2455-how-many-uspsa-shooters-per-state/page-2) So none of the competitors in these states shoot Open or Limited?
  16. You don't need to say that part about the states. There is already a rule in place covering that.

It makes you wonder why they didn't just adopt SSP rules for BUG instead of ESP. It opens the door for all kinds of custom work and guns in this division.

I am wondering what a SIG P320 Sub Compact would be like if you paired it with a full size grip frame module and chopped the rail to fit.

The used stainless steel magwell arrived and It will work but some material will definitely need to be built up around the base to make it fit well. The rearmost part of the backstrap will also have to be shortened a bit. It looks like this will work pretty well on a Large grip frame. A medium grip frame is about .2" too short front to back. It will still work but will need a bit more material added. For this type of work I am using Devcon 290 since it's black and drys fairly fast. On my other grip work I prefer marine epoxy since it gives me more time to work with it. I am taking pictures and will post the process once I get something worth showing.
  20. It's both. Either it can be already on the Production gun list or once the manufacturer has made 500 they can submit it specifically for CO. "A handgun may be approved specifically for Carry Optics division provided that the model of the pistol used is an approved Production Division model AND meets Carry Optics criteria. Any pistol that is not on the approved Production list, but meets Carry Optics criteria must submit a Manufacturers Declaration Form to DNROI stating that a minimum of 500 complete handguns have been manufactured and are available to the general public"
  21. I do glue and grit jobs to get it a bit more aggressive than standard grip tape but it doesn't shift and doesn't wear out. It feels a lot better to me than most of the stippling jobs.
  22. Real-time leader board broadcast today the Internet would be pretty sweet. I hope more of this type of thing happens in USPSA in the future. It doesn't appear that USPSA even put out a press release about the match results.
