  1. Grinding it off would be an external mod. Is there some version of this from another Production approved gun that will work?
  2. I would love to see a bit of Yong Lee from squad 19 if opportunity presents itself.
  3. My Open Glock running major PF Washington fun until I cracked the slide about 3k rounds in. I am really not interested in Open any more.
  4. Really? I thought first shot had to be DA. More so in IPSC. USPSA just says that the hammer starts down.
  5. That brings up a good point. Right now the rules only allow for slide milling for the optic itself which leaves a question about secondary sights. They aren't explicitly addressed in the rules and given that they are a feature on many of this type of gun I feel that perhaps they should be explicitly mentioned. It does appear that you could not explicitly mill to add a secondary sight you would have to use the existing dovetail or it would not be an option. As the rules are written you could modify a stock P320 into this configuration and have it be Production legal but a model like this from the factory may have to be added to the CO list before being legal.
  6. Should Carry Optics guns go here or in the Factory guns forum? Either way here is a look at the new SIG Romeo 1 MRDS mounted on a P320. Bruce Gray should be at Nationals this week with this gun if anyone wants to take a look at the gun and the scope.
  7. "21.2b Milling of slide only as required to insert optical sights A slide may be modified specifically for the purpose of installing optical sights, and for no other purpose." Has that update been issued? I don't see it anywhere. My rule book just says "sights" http://uspsa.org/document_library/2015/APPENDIX-Carry%20Optics%20Provisional%20Division.pdf
  8. Anyone who is attending Production Nationals should stop and say hi to Bruce Gray who will be cruising around the match with some P320s set up for CO and Production.
  9. The issue is 21.2 a. Any refinishing that provides a competitive advantage is not allowed. I believe the same is applied to aftermarket slides. If it has a milled feature not found on the stock gun which provides a competitive advantage then it is a no go. If its aftermarket but is basically the same externally as a factory slide then it would be allowed. "Per existing NROI ruling, cosmetically enhancing the finish of a slide is already ALLOWED in Carry Optics Division, provided that the finish provides no competitive advantage. This clause is NOW interpreted to specifically ALLOW refinishing the frame, as well as the slide, subject to the existing constraints on refinishing (cosmetic only, no competitive advantage). Special Notes/Clarifications: • Any finish which provides a non-cosmetic function will be deemed PROHIBITED. For example, a gun finish which provides a roughened texture in an area where grip tape is not allowed (Appendix E4) is a PROHIBITED modification." "21.2b Milling of slide — only as required to insert optical sights A slide may be modified specifically for the purpose of installing optical sights, and for no other purpose."
  10. you can can't you? Isn't there a decocker version of the Shadow, ( the Tactical I vaguely recall) I may be wrong but I'm sure I asked our CZ importer here in Australia a few years back. The 75 SP01 Tactical has a decocker but it also has a firing pin block. Both the firing pin block and the decocker mechanism make for a slightly less ideal trigger than what you can get on a Shadow.
  11. If shooting Production division you cannot stop on the half notch (decocked position) unless you actually have a decocking lever on the gun. If manually decocking you are required to fully lower the hammer.
  12. Remember that CZC has made well over 2k ACCU Shadows and now the long slide 75. At 500 guns required for a new submission to CO they will have those numbers in no time flat.
  13. In Production as long as it's on the list you can drop in a non ported barrel and be legal so the same should stand here. Regarding the weight you should h the able to add weight to your polymer CO gun of choice to get it up to 35. Weighted basepads are easy but I think the slight movement of the magazine in recoil make that a less optimum area. Tungsten guide rods are an easy option. I have also done some with epoxy in led into place inside the back strap channel. Might as well run those extended +0s and Springer Precision even has an option for more weight onside the magaziner. You would not be able to add weight external or on the rail or anything but I am sure people will come up with all sorts of creative things to do internal to gain a few ounces. I think the fact that the max weight is 35 versus 33 is interesting and changes things quite a bit. 35 Oz seems like middle ground between the heavy and polymer guns where you will see lightened CZ 75 style PO guns on one end and you will see polymer guns with added weight on the other.
  14. Agreed. CZC will find a way. Side note: 35oz is the max weight.
  15. I was at that match and Matt let me test the Vanek trigger on the Glock that he was shooting at the time.
  16. Those are legal in production provided the barrel ported barrel is replaced and this rule says if it's production legal then you should be good to go for CO. "Ported models are allowed providing that the barrel is non-ported and the other requirements are met."
  17. I think that is why dovetails were encouraged in some of the early messaging, to ensure you don't make a change on your Production gun that can't be undone.
  18. I am betting you could get a CZ 75 down to that.
  19. Just says the optic needs to be attached to the slide between the ejection port and the end of the slide. Doesn't say how to do it but milling is allowed. I can't see how a dovetail mount wouldn't be legal.
  20. The slide may be milled for installing the optic which must be installed between the ejection port and the end of the slide. Max weight 35 Oz for all approved guns (no +2oz or equivalent). No box test. Only 500 guns need to be produced to submit the gun to DNROI for approval versus the 2,000 required by Production. All other rules appear to follow Production division
  21. So now you move to using personal attacks. I don't give two shits what you do for a living or how much money you make. Why should you? I am not easily impressed and bragging about income most certainly means nothing to me.I drive a school bus sure but I put in my time before that and must have done something right to be able to shoot this game when and where I want.I can say with certainty I have never taken out a loan to buy a gun. I am not sure where you are seeing personal attacks against you. You are the one who is applying a label to a provisional division that attempts to degraded those who are interested in shooting it.
  22. Other than just being childish calling it WO seems to assume that someone can't afford to shoot Open when perhaps they just have no interest in it. Lots of hate for this provisional division in here but thankfully it's moving forward despite the naysayers.
  23. As advertised by the manufacturerA manufacturer who has nothing to do with 3-Gun. Supporting device is pretty open to interpretation. That's a debate for a different thread. I'm asking for the rules, not the opinion of the Internet. Just sharing the rule banning supporting devices which this clearly seems to be. Not sure how you could possibly classify it as something other than a supporting device.
