  1. It makes sense that it would score high in the competition given that they really did seem to be looking for the exact kind of modularity that the P320 offers. It's really cool to see and I am currently making some popcorn to read the responses from the Glock fans.

    P320 RX

The X5 plate attaches using a separate set of holes and screws in from under the slide.
  3. I know a guy that has a machine shop that can do small batches. The tungsten that he can mill is pretty expensive. It puts the guide rods close to $100 after all is said and done. If was about to get him to do a couple more but now I might hold off and have him do one for the X5 whenever I can get that. In Production division it brings gun just below the maximum weight so you can't run extended base pads or anything but that weight out front makes it worth it.

    P320 X Carry

I think it would be a good option but the bull barrel on the X5 should provide enough of an advantage that it should be the clear choice of the two. Either way I want one.
  5. Robert King at Red Hill Tactical already has one on order so he will be ready to make holsters early on. Worst case you could send him the slide and grip or I can drive up to his place to make the first batch. That's how I got my first P320 holster in 2014.
  6. Thanks for the impressions. I think there may still be some minor room for improvement by tossing on a tungsten guide rod. Remember that while the P320 has a polymer grip it's frame (the module that houses the trigger group and rails) is actually stainless steel, so I think it holds some middle ground between the polymer framed and metallic framed guns. The trigger is good out of the box but can still benefit from a trip to Grayguns.
  7. I think the Target is no more. There is the VTac version now if you want the new grip without the bull Barrel. That's a full size slide with fixed VTac sights. There is also a new Carry model with the new grip that has an adapter plate for the Romeo1. Otherwise it's X5 or bust.
  8. The magazines are actually 140mm tubes so the base pads have a built in sleeve versus extending the length.
  9. I would guess around 34oz
  10. I have been suggesting the same thing. I don't know that there is room on the curved but on the flat I had another friend install an overtravel screw that interfaces with the trigger stop pin. Definitely should be a standard thing.
  11. Combination of bays with some open terrain. Stages are still being finalized but the rumor I heard is that they would like to run out the rifle distance on two or three stages. I would be ready for a few targets at 400 and perhaps a bit beyond with a good mix inside that distance. There should also be some good fast stages. They plan to bring in some National Guard vehicles for a couple of stages for props. Should be interesting.
  12. Yes, 35 oz should be about the stock weight. Video from range day here
  13. Some additional details on the X5 and the VTac P320 http://soldiersystems.net/2017/01/16/sig-media-range-day-new-for-2017-p320x5-p320-vtac-usa-made-p210/

  15. Good point. Still listed as out of stock but it least it's on the website now. https://grayguns.com/product/custom-grayguns-p320-trigger-pelt/ GGI does have a custom triggerbar spring, reduced power sear springs, and a billet sear. The sear and sear springs, however, are in shop install only for the time being.
  16. Reports are that it takes takes bit to break it in to run light loads. If you still want lighter then send it to Taylor Pickerell to get the gas port opened up.

    P320 Double Click

The double click is always there but timing is usually such that it's not noticeable. In extreme cases you can get variance in tolerances where in dry fire you can separate the striker release from the trigger reset (double click) but it's unlikely to give you problems in live fire. That's interesting about the sear spring. Glad you got it back together and it seems to be working correctly now.
  18. I started out by doing some deep stippling to provide an area for the epoxy to hold to. Then I used some other Plexus MA 300 Black to fill the hole and trimmed it with a blade and then square files. This picture was before polishing with sandpaper. We will have to wait and see how well it holds up.
  19. It sort of has two. The internal magwell was designed with Production division in mind. It's very generous. The larger magwell (and the 21 round magazines it ships with) would be great for 3 Gun and similar competition.
  20. Out of curiosity where is your side of the pond? The M400 is decent. They have just updated the model so I don't know the exact new specs. I think before it had an 18" barrel but didn't have rifle gas which is usually on my list. Mason Lane has been running a Predator with zero issues. Most of the rest of the former amature segment of Team SIG who was running 3 Gun with a M400 Carbon which is a 16" barrel (carbine gas), 13.5" Lancer carbon fiber handguard, and the same two stage Geissele trigger. Most ran it in stock or near stock configuration and everything held up perfectly. They were also fairly accurate with no problem for hitting to 400.They have a couple of other features that are unique and make them stand out such as having a tension pin adjustment between the upper and lower, a built in QD attachment point on each side of the lower, ambi magazine release and safety, and extended bolt catch. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it but I am a rifle snob so I used the upper and lower along with a bunch of race parts and left all of the factory stuff in a box. Now that I have other rifle sponsors the M400 has be reassembled and if you are looking for a good deal and if it's legal where you are at I have mine listed for $900 (plus shipping if not in VA). I could even toss the 15" Lancer carbon fiber and a brake back on it if that is your preference. I run down a list of the other featuers here: https://www.armslist.com/posts/6287031/nova-rifles-for-sale--sig-sauer-m400-carbon Bottom line: I think the SIG rifles are solid duty rifles that seem to have good components, are accurate, and hold up well.
  21. it's supposed to be a bull barrel. It has a flat trigger that is modeled after the trigger style on the Legion SAO. I don't know how the trigger feels. At Shot last year it was likely around 3.5lb or so. I could see a case for having it that light or leaving it around 5.5lb for IPSC competition.
  22. If all goes well these might be much easier for me (or any other hobbyist) to work on. The original grip modules were made with my grit work in mind. Instead of having a pretextured grip the grip has inset areas and precut grip tape panels. This would allow you to customize the grip for the aggressiveness that you want (ranging from rubberized to very aggressive grit tape) or you should be able to easily tape off and apply epoxy and grit into the recessed area. The design might have changed since I last saw it and who knows what will actually ship?
  23. Here is the better look at what's going under the the adapter plate, and I run the X5 slides getting engraved. Again, it looks to me like it's cut cut a Romeo1.
  24. I don't know. By NRA last year they said that was resolved and it would be compatible. I think SIG and Grayguns were using alternative methods to approach providing a match trigger. I haven't been in on the loop to hear how SIG resolved it and what the trigger on this gun will feel like. I am not going to Shot Show this year so I will be looking for reports from those who are there to hear about compatibility, trigger pull weight, tentative shipping dates, and etc.
  25. Yes for both. The big change from last year's model that never came out is the bull barrel and the adapter plate for the Romeo1.
