  1. They are full length 140mm magazine tubes so it would make it a bit too long for the Production box, and you would have to use some 17 round magazines instead when shooting Production. Carry Optics allows 140mm tubes so they would be fine there.
  2. Per the specs it looks like it will have a five inch barrel, adjustable sights, fiber front sight, polymer X grip, and four 21 round magazines. Those magazines are 140mm (extendable to 23 rounds with the right basepads and springs). That will make it a great out of the box setup for 3 Gun. For Production you would need to use some 17 round magazines with shorter base pads. The wings on the 17 round base pads would need to be shaved off to fit the new grip or just use some Springer plus zero extensions. Hopefully we get more specifics at Shot Show.
  3. That's refreshing. Thanks for sharing.

    320 Thumb Safety

That's my understanding as well. Mass. compliant Compact models with 10 round mags had been shipping but it doesn't seem like a whole lot are out there. I tried the ones that had at Shot Show and was impressed with how the safety felt. It would be relatively simple to use that FCU along with a full size slide and grip. I think it would just take a small amount of grip modification.
  5. I don't know how that narrative developed but it's not accurate. Team SIG did an outstanding job of exposing the shooting sports to the P320 and helped to prove the P320 as a viable choice in competition and the firearms market overall. I think both the Team members and SIG felt we were very successful there. The popularity for the P320 has exploded and in my personal opinion that is one of the reasons that you haven't seen the Competition ready P320 on the market yet; SIG was just too busy filling back orders for the very popular existing models. When we last spoke with SIG there was still a strong intent to release a competition ready gun and I hope that we all learn more specifics at Shot Show in a few months; however, I have learned to take any estimated shipping dates with a grain of salt. From SIG's perspective the team had met the goal of exposing the P320 broadly and since they had some tough decisions to make regarding the marketing budget they opted to scale down the amateur team but keep on the Pros (Max and Lena). There isn't some big conspiracy beyond that. The SIG P320 is still in the great choice for competition even if the new marketing team doesn't think that a large amateur sponsor model is the right way to get the word out. I noticed that FN also killed its team recently and I suspect there will be a lot of additional belt tightening now that new restrictive gun regulations aren't the concern for at least the next four years.
  6. One more note on the Gen II MPX. I gas port runs smaller than on the Gen 1 and today Taylor Pickerell mentioned some variability even among the Gen II. If you are running light loads and it isn't cycling reliably (assuming you you lubed up) then Pickerell can open up your gas port a bit.
  7. Give me bit more information about what you heard and I will try and clarify. The P320 is definitely capable and as I recall one was used to win Carry Optics Nationals this year. Toss in the 3.5oz tungsten guide rod and it feels very much like like steel framed gun. I don't shoot f SIG any more but will be continuing with the RX into this next season.
  8. I think a bright 3 MOA is not a disadvantage. It gives you a very fine sight picture capability that helps a lot on the longer shots but doesn't really seem slower on everything else. That said, the R1 isn't as bright as the R3. When comparing the two I am like at brightness level 7/10 on the R3 to equal max brightness on the R1. The R1 works well and is visible in bright sun but I feel like to be perfect it should either have the ability to go slightly brighter or opt for a 6 MOA. Out of the box I still think the P320RX is a great package, is an excellent value and it's what I am shooting for the next few months at a minimum.
  9. Another big batch just shipped out. Cabela's has the two tone and the black slide version is going out to other dealers. product codes are: 320F-9-BSS-RX for the black slide 320F-9-TSS-RX for the two tone at Cabela's
  10. Yes, that's the one thing that Timney recommends for the 9mm PCCs including the MPX. The other details would be be personal preference but I would go with short and flat...
  11. I have an SBRed MPX and in theory I think it's pretty hard to beat. The fact that Taran Tactical seems to have embraced it instead of building its own AR platform PCC should be a good indication that it will be very close to the top when it comes to competitiveness. Magazine cost is frequently mentioned as a negative about the platform but I have been seeing Gen 1 MPX mags for as low as $25 each. There are also multiple extension options to get you running a reliably 40 rounds which should be more than enough for USPSA and good enough for most 3 Gun stages. There are no plastic parts in the upper that cause issues with the trigger. The high bolt velocity is hard on certain style unprotected disconnectors. Timney says its new two stage triggers will hold up. I haven't seen any reports of Hiperfire triggers failing in the MPX and Hiperfire thinks that the added cam (or whatever they call it) that rests on the safety might function similar to the trigger bridge that SIG had installed with the stock trigger. Geissele has an MPX specific trigger in the works now and currently isn't recommending it's standard triggers for use in the MPX. A lot of triggers work for a time before breaking so it makes it a bit tough to track what works in the long run but so far the two-stage Timney or the Hiperfire seem like the best bet.
  12. I can't argue with any of that. I am actually surprised that no one else has taken a stab at aftermarket trigger parts except for that Apex flat trigger. SIG and GGI had some great momentum on a great gun and the delays have certainly put a damper on that. I sincerely hope that things get rectified soon but will look at future release dates with a healthy dose of skepticism until product actually hits shelves. At least the RX finally dropped. Here's hoping for the X320 next season.
  13. Lantac has a 9mm MPX break that is threaded 1x13.5 LH
  14. I can't speak directly for Grayguns but because I have been working with Grayguns over the past two years I am sharing with you what I have picked up either directly from Bruce, from various posts or interviews, or from my direct observations. Take it or leave it. I began the 2015 season shooting a stock P320 that I purchased personally from a local pawn shop. That stock P320 took me through the first several months until I got one with Bruce's trigger work. In that time I didn't feel incredibly disadvantaged; however, I obviously prefer the platform post GGI trigger work. Mason Lane actually earned his M card shooting a bone stock P320. I am a mid to low level M so there is no danger of me walking away with anything major but I still prefer the P320 to the CZ ACCU that I shot prior to the CZ or the Glocks I shot before that. While the drop in kits have not been available yet there are plenty of people outside of the formal "Team SIG" that have sent their guns into Grayguns for the trigger work. Aside from trigger options other aftermarket support has been quite prevalent for the P320. There have been plenty of frustrations about timing from SIG or GGI with regards to the P320 platform, but I don't feel it's disingenuous to share either my experiences or observations with other shooters who are interested in the platform.
  15. Bruce doesn't like the backlog and realized some time ago that it's not a good model. He has been working over the last few years on transitioning Grayguns to be more like an Apex, where its parts are sold through multiple vendors and installed by users versus Bruce having to lay hands on everything. I know that all of the GGI triggers being supplied for the Legion guns had certainly kept them busy, especially on top of the typical shop workload. There have been a few minor rolling tolerance changes through the last two years as SIG has worked on perfecting its new platform. Those have caused Bruce to go back to the drawing board a few times to assure that he has something that requires no fitting and that will work across all variances encountered. I think that is why he is initially doing the installs of the new trigger components in house. He needs to ensure that what he has works across the board with minimal work, and I assume he is fine tuning as he goes. I think he is close. Two of my guns are new setup with prototype drop in kits (one with a flat trigger and one with the curved) and so far they are working perfectly and feel very good. I think he has stopped giving time estimations for when the kits will be available because he doesn't want to miss another projection, but I think he is very close. Sorry for the delay, it has been frustrating for all involved including Bruce.
  16. I have the Lantac MPX break and tried it on my 8". I liked the recoil impulse better with the stock flash hider but if you want to take a spin I would give you a good deal on a used one.
  17. There isn't a 15 round subcompact magazine of which I am aware. If you are looking for alternative pricing Quantico Tactical carries P320 mags for around $34 each.

    Gray vs. Burke?

Burke and Grayguns approach P320 trigger jobs very differently. Bruce is now making his own sears, triggers, sear Springs and followers few others parts that go into the trigger. He is making some geometry changes that significantly lighten the pull and improve their other characteristics. Burke primarily modifies factory parts and in his higher end work is doing a lot to shorten the overtravel and pre-travel. That is what I think makes them somewhat sensitive to small changes in tolerances when doing things like changing grip modules. Max has four grips I made for him and for the longest time they would not work with his guns that had the Burke triggers. I think Max had been using Burke so I think he kept on using Burke, and I am guessing the shorter trigger travel of the trigger appealed to Max even though it's likely to be a bit heavier and not quite as safe as GGI work. I know that of those 6% of shooters at Production Nationals who were shooting SIGs there was only one P320 that we heard about having problems (it tripped on one stage) and it wasn't one worked on by Bruce. The biggest complaint about GGI I generally think turn around time. Now that GGI has its own internal parts instead of having to modify factory ones, the P320 jobs are clearing the shop much faster an should be expected to last longer overall.
  19. The former Team SIG members are still kicking around. I took a bit of a break from posting but at this point I have no hard feelings against SIG and have no plans to go away from the P320 and next season. The delay in the trigger kits has been frustrating but Bruce has been having the components made now and the is installing them in house, dramatically reducing the wait time. I got a sample of the drop in kit which I installed myself and ran at the MD state match a couple of weeks ago. I can't guess when the drop in kit will be available for DIY but it seems very close. On the Target, I think some things have changed. When asked about it lately SIG responds with hints of a P320 X-line that should have some additional features. Hopefully we will learn more at Shot Show but it would be hard to take any projected dates seriously. They have just been so busy working to meet the high demand for P320s. Until then I will be continuing to have fun with the RX among other things. I may even get around to changing my profile picture.
  20. The issue with the DPP is that it's 2oz. That said, Kyle Lamb has been running one on his P320 for the last year or so.
  21. I think it's a Lancer. Not sure that anyone makes an extension for that either.
  22. Date change on the Magpul Wyoming Governor's match to Aug 3-6 to avoid conflict with Rocky Mountain 3-gun. http://competition-dynamics.com/magpul-governors-match-2017/
  23. The nubs are in a unique location . Spacing for the two screws is pretty standard (20mm I think) .
  24. Ask Red Hill Tactical. He had a line on someone who was going to make a Romeo3 specific open gun mount.
