  1. The SIG P320RX as a package makes it hard to ignore the viability Carry Optics as a distinct division that is growing now and should be expected to grow for some time. The BOD did reference Shot Show and the fact that they keep seeing these guns emerge and are becoming more widespread. I don't know that SIG had any particular hand in the capacity increase but I do think it's pretty cool that the new increased capacity pistol mag for the Army will be one that just happens to be exactly 141mm in length.

You should take that request to Scott Springer. I think it's very possible.
  4. Single stage Timney or two stage? The single stage work at first but will fail eventually. Timney says its two stage triggers are good to go in the MPX.

The goal is for it to be Production Legal (without the extended magwell and extended magazines). Phil Strader said he plans to make 2,500 of them in February and will submit to DNROI for approval as soon as he has numbers.

Should be similar to existing P320s but with a reprofiled trigger. There were apparently multiple reasons for this which included cost, schedule, maintaining compatibility across the P320 line, and IPSC Production legality. Grayguns does have a drop in trigger that has been released that acts similar to a Glock 3.5lb connector, taking about 2lb off of the pull. They have additional work that they are performing in house to fit a new sear and reduced power sear springs etc.

You could run the VTac or the X-Carry in IDPA since those don't have the bull barrel.

    P320 X5 Thread

It's based on a medium grip but it's less round. Other sizes are a possibility. Phil mentioned that he has a prototype small. The FCU and trigger components are now identical to the rest of the line except for the shape of the trigger. SIG backed away from the Trigger design from the Target that would leave the FCU incompatible with everything else..

    P320 X5 Thread

It's possible that the 17 rounders with the newer "FBI" base plates don't fit in gun when the external magwell is attached. I can see why they might prefer to ship it with mags that work in either configuration. The 21 rounders are still legal for the Carry Optics and it makes for an excellent 3 Gun option. Phil said they plan to ship 17 rounders with the newer base pads in March if you don't want to modify existing.

Or you could shave the wings off your current 17 rounders. Even better, get some Springer Precision plus zeros.
  11. Bruce Gray told me to load those particular JHPs to 1.10 so that's what I did. At one point I want running some 147gr BBI that were running okay but I shortened them to the bit when I was diagnosing with feeding issue. That turned out to be not changing my 13lb recoil spring often enough.

If they are open ended then there is a good chance that they will fit since the rail section is identical. The grip is a bit thicker towards the top so that area may or may not be tight depending on holster design.

    Because 2000 aren't available yet.

35.5oz with the grip weight was mentioned. I don't know if that is with or without the external magwell.

The factory P320 is very good but could still be improved. It needs to be over 5lb for IPSC Production division. There was a lighter trigger on the prototype Target model last year but that chassis wasn't compatible with the rest of the line like this one is. A trip to Grayguns or some of his drop in parts will further improve the trigger pull.

Full compatible with the current P320 line.
  17. I think suppressor use was the reason. Taylor Pickerell does a lot of MPX barrel chopping and port engagement work.
  18. One thing I should mention is that the trigger in the X5 is a flat trigger but it isn't as light as the trigger that was being shown on the Target in 2016. SIG needed to keep the trigger above 5lb so that it would be eligible for IPSC Production division. A trip to Grayguns or some drop in trigger parts would further improve it.
  19. That was definitely a goal, both for the P320 platform itself and the Grayguns enhancements.
  20. Just saw a picture. Looks like Carry grip with a removable plate for optics similar to the X-Carry slide (not grip)
  21. Might have been a the Compact size. They said the Compact Manuel Safety was the closets example of MHS that they had on the Shot Show floor.
  22. Phil mentioned that he has a small X grip module designed already. No hint as to when that might be available.
