Great to hear. I can't count the number of times I have had to respond to questions about how to get a Romeo1.
  4. Highly suspect source. I would try to get it in writing. The guy who was talking about it on Facebook called HQ on the phone.

You couldn't ship another model number with the magwell detached?

Springer has some precut grip tape coming that fits in the textured areas. Otherwise glue and grit jobs are a nice option for the P320s.

Max Michel and Mason Lane may end up running curved triggers. Phil Strader will likely run flat. It's early so that could change. I have to decided yet.

No. They are very similar but they Grayguns will take off a bit more weight. Somewhere around a pound more.

Aside from the trigger nothing else is different in the FCU. I noticed a couple of updates on pins and springs but I assume they are standard across the P320 line.

You can just drop the FCU from Grayguns into your X5. You can order a flat PELT from GGI and it should drop into what's there, although the safety cam is a bit of a pain to get off. I suspect you will find some of the top P320 X5 shooters will still be running a curved trigger.

    Shadow 2 Legal Date

There are at least 2,500 were initially produced and are out there now. Some distributors getting X5s by the palette. I am seeing seeing as lot if posts form random people who are picking their up from their local FFLs over the past few days. The X5 is out there now and it's out in numbers.
  14. It's very exciting to see it finally here. Time today see if it meets expectations. We have a large X5 thread going here:

I saw someone issue a warning on another page about the length of the 21 round magazines and it is worth repeating. The 21 round mags are ever so slightly long for the USPSA gage. If you rest them in there you will see a very small gap at the top where it doesn't sit perfectly flat in the gage without a bit of pressure. It's not much but an overzealous chrono check might call it out and move you to open. The Fix is easy: just remove a small amount of material from the bottom corner of the factory base pad or use the Springer plus two extensions before heading to a major match.
  16. I don't know. There are screws to attach it to the mount and they might be the same ones needed for the X5. I just don't know for sure.
  17. It's all the same dot. The only difference is the mount. Any should work for the X5 since no mount is needed. I will try to find out whether the screws for the X5 would be included. If you checked on optics Planet you can see the that the first one is expected to come in stock in the next few weeks whereas the others are further out. I have literally been watching for a year for these to ship seperatly. This is morning was the first time I saw one being sold alone but it looks to be an RX takeoff that's on ebay. I think they popularity of the RX guns has kept SIG prioritizing Romeo1s for complete guns but now that the X guns are shipping they really need to make these available. In other news Springer Precision is working on adapter plates and has some prototypes now.

I am hearing that IDPA may be allowing the X5. They think the bull barrel isn't enough of a bull barrel to exclude it. This still needs confirmation.

The X5 has a third style of slide catch. The original sits further back and was larger. The second style is further forward, lower profile, and was designed for use with a grip module that has a raised box around it to help prevent accidental manipulation. The X grip will work with either of these styles and has a larger shelf that makes it pretty hard to accidentally hit the release. It ships with a forward swept slide catch that is as far forward as the newer design but has a profile size that's somewhere in between the other two. That's a good thing in my book since I find the thin profile one to be pretty sharp when not boxed in.
  24. Thank you! I will put a couple on order and try that out.
