  1. Looks really good. How is the optic attached to the slide?
  2. What seems to be the cause? I looked at mine and it doesn’t have those marks.
  3. That’s really unique. Gonna have to learn some more about it.
  4. Skin contact is a way to absorb lead but if your levels are high, you are generally ingesting it. Think about if you eat snacks during a match after setting steel, shooting or dealing with ammo, you are ingesting lead from your hands. I try to wash my hands prior to eating anything at a match. I work on a range full time as a firearms instructor for a federal agency. We shoot 7 hours a day and are tested every 6 months. My highest levels has been 11 in 6 years.
  5. Got any videos of the launch. I really enjoyed this during college.
  6. Greatly entertaining. I enjoyed watching it.
  7. I carry an M&P9 2.0 compact and shoot an M&P9 Pro for competition.
  8. I have shot thunderbeast suppressors with great success. I chose to go with the thunderbeast after talking with a representative about maintenance. I was told that if you need to replace the baffles, you can send the suppressor in and they can repair it as long as the main tube isn’t damaged.
  9. Most barrel manufacturers post on their website their break-in process. I suggest checking out the website of your barrel maker to see what they suggest.
  10. I have found that when trying to learn to call shots, a thinner front sight is good. The thinner sight allows you to see the movement. During matches, I prefer a front sight that takes up most of the rear sight notch. The fatter front sight helps me to align the sights quicker and not look for perfect sight alignment. As long as the front sight is inside the rear sight, I press the shot.
  11. If I am moving at a speed that I can shoot as well, I keep both hands on the gun in a full shooting grip. If I am moving quickly or running, I normally remove my support hand from the gun. When I transition between targets that don't require a movement of my feet, I keep a firm shooting grip. If I am having to move my feet to transition, such as from one side of the range to other, I will generally bring the gun in and slightly loosen my grip.
  12. Hey everybody! I'm back after being gone for a while. I have spent time away from pistol shooting to focus on my PRS and work.
  13. I think it says a lot that there wasn't even a representative of MidwayUSA at the awards ceremony. Losing Tom was a big mistake. There were several discrepancies with scores that I heard of. The match itself didn't seem like it ran any less smoothly (thanks to the range staff for all their hard work), but the social events were a little lackluster in my opinion.
  14. I just started looking at 9mm Blue Bullets. Thanks for posting your load data for these.
  15. Without cutting the frame, it would be hard to attach a magwell to the base of the gun and use the factory base pads.
  16. +1 on precision moly. Great price, great customer service and great product. I have used their .40 and 9mm and they have worked flawlessly. I have used others mentioned on this thread and for some reason I get malfunctions with others but not with the precision moly.
  17. I agree with Eric above. Also, if you were leaning torwards getting an XDM, you may just want to go with a standard XD. That way if in the future you switch to an XDM, you already will have the gear for it and the only thing that would change would be the gun.
  18. It all depends on what I am shooting as to what I prefer. If I am shooting USPSA with all tan targets, I prefer a black post. If I am shooting Bianchi Cup where the bullseye is all black, I prefer the fiber optic to help break up the black x ring and my sights. Personal preference for me.
  19. Welcome to the forum. I am relatively new to reloading as well and there is a ton of information on here to help you out. If you can't find the answer, ask the question. Somebody will definitely have a good answer for you.
  20. I agree with Hi-Power Jack about contacting the NRA. They will be able to give you advice on making berms and layout of a range. They should also be able to give you information on targeting systems that you could use for your range. Check out their website http://range.nra.org/

    Good 50 round drill

I like the F.A.S.T. Test. It is only six rounds per test, but the test has 2 shots to a small head zone, a slide lock reload and 4 follow up shots to a larger circular area. I do this drill for slide lock and hot reloads.
  22. I assume you are looking to join in Production. If so I've got you added. Sorry, forgot to add that. Yes, shooting production.
