Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thank you all very much. I watched the videos. I was just hoping there was an easy or easier way to track my own progress. Seems like hit factor is the number to watch but mostly in my own class which is carry optics.
  2. I am not trying to compare myself against other shooters. I am just starting and not ready for that. I was think of tracking my percentage of possible points. Does this not make sense?
  3. I am looking for opinions on how to tell if I am getting any better (or worse) when looking at match results. I don’t think looking at my overall placement make sense because any given match can have more or less shooters with a different skill mix. I was looking at tracking the percentage of possible points that I get at a given match. For example, let’s say at my first match I got 25% of the possible points and at my second I got 40% of the possible points. Seems like improvement. Are there better ways to track my own performance? Thank you.
  4. I actually just had a match today. Used 3.6kt of Sport Pistol with 135gr coated bullets from Summit. Worked perfectly. I still pretty much suck but the bullets were nice and worked 100% of the time.
  5. Anyone seeing any good Black Friday deals on the subject optic? I am not.
  6. Does anyone know if Springer Precision typically has a Black Friday special? Looking to pickup a few things from them. Also, I am looking for a Black Friday special on a Sig Romeo 3 Max or XL. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
  7. I would like to start loading 9mm for a minor PF (130). I just bought some Sport Pistol powder. I typically use 124 grain coated bullets from Summit City but may move up to 135 grain. Looking for a good load to minimize felt recoil. Thank you.
  8. Unfortunately Travis’s class is full.
  9. Yes, definitely. I have looking for training classes near Huntsville Alabama. I am attending one in November, the other was filled. As far as dry fire practice, I am reading about how best to do that. I saw some information from Ben Stoeger. My concern with dry fire practice on my own is I could be practicing wrong and making things worse.
  10. I am considering purchasing a red dot for USPSA. I had another thread on this forum where several posts suggested I put a red dot on my X5 Legion and shoot CO instead of production or Limited. I am new to USPSA. I typically have trouble finding and tracking the dot when I am trying to go fast. I am told I need to practice and do dry fire drills. My question is if I want to got CO with the Legion, which RDS should I go with. I would like a large FOV. I have a p320 M18 with a Sig Romeo 1 pro and that is what I used when I was having trouble finding and tracking the dot. Based on that, any suggestions for a red dot on the Legion? I have looked at the new large optics (romeo3xl and max)from Sig as well well as the Trijicon SRO. The other idea is to forget the optic for now and just shoot limited. Thank you.
  11. Thank you. I have contacted both instructors.
