  1. Yes, it needs a bit more polishing to be 100% though. Shot 4 ICORE Classifiers with it with no issues. But dry firing the rebound will occasionally hang up.
  2. Doesn't have to be a 929 barrel. Use a 5" 627, or go all out and have a custom one made?!
  3. Go with Clays 2.8 gives me 820 f/s w/160 Bayous, It flowed better with the Dillon Small Charge Powder Bar but it fills the case more than Titegroup. Titegroup works ok, but tends to heat up the barrel quicker. AA powders tend to escape the powder bar and/or grate with the spacer. The one thing to do is load longer than 9mm. A 160 bullet will need to be 1.170" or longer or it tends to bulge the case. A 145 bullet can go a bit less 1.150.
  4. Don't expect the same velocity. Seems to be close to 10% less velocity for a given load. So start with 9mm data but expect to go up.
  5. In competition it's just wasted time. Playing around it's very hard on the lock works for sure.
  6. I think they quit that before the 1940's, it was mostly during the Silent Movies. But I read where, I think it was, "The Public Enemy" with James Cagney had him jump out around a building and duck back behind the corner just as a professional shooter rakes the corner with a Thompson. Don't know if it's true though.
  7. Agreed as much as I hate it the wife and I are trying to play hermits for the immediate future. I was actually relieved that a large match I had signed up for in April and was on 2 teams is being postponed. I hated to back out but I was going to. I've only had a little over 1 year of Retirement! Now I have no excuse but to finish the basement, almost there. I just hope Brown Santa doesn't stop making runs, I may need more bullets and brass.
  8. $200+ order gets free hazmat.
  9. I've never knowingly spun the cylinder. It does seem there's usually a little inertia and rarely is it not locked by the bolt. Excessively spinning the cylinder would lead to quicker notch peening. I have deliberately done it and never had an issue with a misfire or skipped chamber, due to it.
  10. Blasphemy! Next you'll tell us you even use that bump on the end of the barrel?
  11. I'd bet most matches, world wide and in the U.S. are going to get, voluntarily or due to travel restrictions, postponed or cancelled. I don't know as if I agree, but that's where it's heading. NBA, MLS, NCAA (NO march madness) are all suspended and the list just keeps growing. May well be the year to stock up on our reloads! I need more brass!
  12. Might be you are trying to muscle the gun on the first shot, then smooth out as you proceed. Not a flinch more of a timing issue. Try doing 1 shot draws until you get a good group, then draw & take 2 shots going into that same group. At some point you should see what you're doing wrong. The trick is doing it Right enough times that it becomes muscle memory and you can repeat it under stress.
  13. Even on a 550 I had problems with primer pull back in 9mm. I think part of the problem was the spring loaded decapping pin on the Dillon Dies. When I start using the S1050 on 9mm I might try the Lee Die. Wonder if flattening the pin would help, or taking it to a finer point?
  14. My guess is the composition of the brass, it may be softer than other brands. Combined with the tapered case and the titanium of the cylinder create the issues. Maybe why they are cheaper?
  15. Why didn't you contact Bob (maker of North Mountain) at http://4wheelguns.com/index.html I'd bet he would fix you up. Great guy!
  16. I did an action job on my 6 shot GP100 using the lightest springs in the kit. It came out at 6.5 lbs but feels lighter than that. Haven't had a misfire yet either. Even shot it in a classifier match Sunday.
  17. Take the wins when you can, live, laugh & enjoy the Roll! Congratulations for hanging in there!
  18. Go with North Mountain, it is more versatile and one can use several different caliber moon clips they have slightly different centers. I just don't trust magnets for run 'n gun matches.
  19. One thing we must all strive for when producing a COF is that all can shoot it safely. I always fine tune my targets so the shortest shooter possible, we have had 12 yr old's, can shoot and not worry about a round leaving the range. Also I make sure the challenge doesn't keep someone from engaging targets. This is a shooting challenge not gymnastics challenge.
  20. Just make sure the Heel of the Butt is at or above the top of the belt.
  21. There are 2 types. Remove the follower on both. One has a pin, punch it out and the assembly comes out. If you don' see a pin go to the back of the tab and push down and out with a punch/screw driver, the tab will pop out of the front.
  22. I would recommend going here http://www.icore.org/ClubList.html but that site is down at this time.
  23. Clean first with chemicals (CLP, Hoppes, etc NOT wd-40 as it leaves a shellac coating on things) if the rust doesn't come out lightly scrub with steel wool, then Oil with a good quality oil. Should be fine. Remember Stainless is Rust Resistant NOT Rust Proof!
  24. Unfortunately Short Colt cases are verbotten in IDPA.
