  1. Most likely a previous owner had trimmed and squared the crane barrel and added shims that got lost at some point. One theory is that this method results in a smoother cylinder rotation.
  2. Finding rn for a 44 is a pain, even worse with lighter bullets. Are you planning on making the April 28 icore at mc? I'm curious to see your invention.
  3. Yes Ron powers sells shims, remember to put cases in the cylinder before loosening the rod. And it loosens turning CW, opposite of normal.
  4. In comp iii they run a screw up the middle underneath. Might not work with russians though.
  5. With a progressive i.e. 1050 or 650/750 the uniquetek helps with the bullet flopping out of the case on rotating. Under size sizing die gives the tightest fit, uniquetek powder tube for.358 bullets then opens the mouth just a bit below the flare allowing the bullet to ride round the progressive without falling out. Yet doesn't affect the tightness below it. It's not an issue with my 550.
  6. A lot are now using strong magnets to hold speed loaders, they will run a screw up the bottom middle to attach.
  7. NO, Ron Power sells shims for just that issue. Go to his website or Midway and get a pack.
  8. Contact mark mandrell at Midwest competition gun works. Midwestcompetitionworks.com
  9. Up to 14 now, 1 full squad and 2 of us on another. Expect at least a couple more of our local Revolver Enthusiasts at some point.
  10. Well registration has been open for a day and we have 9 revolvers already.
  11. Send an email to dnroi and ask. Looks like a few newer one's have this omission. He always responds quickly. Might be as simple as allowing each club to set the height to adapt safely to each individual range? Or might be a general policy listed somewhere.
  12. Yes they couldn't get enough RO's to make the staff reset work and decided on not doing the am/pm.
  13. Yes just got confirmation, they are going back to all day squads and competitor reset, didn't get enough RO's. Sorry for the confusion, it's a new committee this year and they have great ideas and plans. https://practiscore.com/free-state-kansas-championship-2024/register
  14. Registration is now open https://practiscore.com/free-state-kansas-championship-2024/register
  15. Did that in a uspsa match 2 years ago, fun.
  16. With your schedule i can understand, the goal is to have fun.
  17. Kind of a conundrum? I'd rather have a physical stage vs a memory stage. But you design it and run it and I won't gripe about shooting it. And give me the courtesy in reverse.
  18. You got 10 on me and I know I am slowing down. Hope im still at it like you then.
  19. Carrying a dummy, haven't done that since double tap 2 decades ago. Guess that would be considered physical.
  20. With good moons 38 specials don't give up anything and you don't have to reload. Jess christensen won the 2022 free state with that combo. He is making a return for the a3 sc championship in april. I should be practicing rather than posting!
  21. Agreed 100%. I would recommend to new shooters to learn irons first. But im probably wrong. Ease, supposedly, of use reigns supreme in the modern world though. And I am just a grumpy old dinosaur!
  22. Practicing with a Dot tells you where your grip and trigger work are lacking. But at the expense of learning the sight picture needed for a given shot with iron sights. With the trend for Dots on all things Iron Sights are becoming dinosaurs! Heck even USPSA is looking at allowing Dots on Revolvers! Oh the humanity.
  23. Applying pressure with the heel of yours palm as you trigger the shot. Opposite of milking. Only good repetitions will fix it.
