  1. I've had a hard time finding something for my P-01 for IWB in Kydex. I did find something similar in leather that works pretty good. Check out Barsony (http://www.barsonyholstersandbelts.com/servlet/the-161/Leather-Inside-the-Waistband/Detail). I also have a BladeTech IWB Klipt Holster (http://shop.blade-tech.com/klipt-appendix-holster-c-1_13_22.html#.Uy5Msl4dB-M) for my 1911 Officer that works pretty good. I think the leather is more comfortable though. The main drawback of the Barsony models are they ride lower and cover a bit too much of the grip for a decent draw.
  2. okay, simple project. I put it in the oven for 30 to 60 seconds at 320 degrees and a molded perfectly. I lost a little retention the first time around, so I took out the gun and pinched the trigger guard back to fix it. better than new!
  3. I picked up a Bladetech Appendix IWB Holster (http://shop.blade-tech.com/klipt-appendix-holster-c-1_13_22.html#.Uy36nV4dB-M) for my Sig 1911 compact and the fit is too snug. I ordered the 1911 3.5" Officer model since they didn't have the Sig 1911 models available. I nearly pulled off my pants the hard way trying to unholster. On further inspection (after I rearranged my undercarriage), I appears the issue is the trigger guard is larger than the holster is designed for and pushes the holster apart near the rivet. I read a few threads about people tweaking their Bladetech holsters by putting them in the oven at 300 degrees. Another user mentioned using a heat gun. Any tips on how to modify a kydex holster to get a more custom fit? Do you put the [unloaded] gun in the holster and toss it in the over at 300 degrees for 10 minutes? Any need to remove internals of the gun?
  4. Mind BLOWN! This is the best post I've seen yet. I've been wanting to install a comp hammer myself, thanks for providing the tutorial for those that think they're mechanically astute enough to attempt it!
  5. Tons of posts on dillon stuff on here, recommend starting a search on the questions you have. The Brian Enos store was a great resource with lots of good info when I started reloading. Can't say enough about finding a local reloading mentor though. YouTube only got me so far...
  6. I've picked up a couple eaa's in the lgs and was surprised to get the safety engaged while the hammer was down. I was expecting a true copy of cz but that was a noticeable delta.
  7. Good question. I've got the 9mm and wondered that. I've heard you can fit a 9mm barrel in the 40S&W but not the other way around, so I think there's more differences but I haven't heard a definitive answer. I know we've got some TS experts on here though!
  8. I was hoping we'd find the right guys on this forum - CZ is the best! For my TS: http://www.shop-cz.com/grips-for-cz-75-ts-short-checkered-black/d-70774/ http://www.shop-cz.com/magazine-funnel-anodized-cz-75-ts-black/d-70738/ http://www.shop-cz.com/magazine-bottom-anodized-cz-75-ts-black-1-round-extra-capacity/d-70750/ http://www.shop-cz.com/trigger-sa-target-hard-aluminium-black/d-70742/ I'd like to see the blue/red/brass options as well for some variety especially for those that have their TS hard chromed (and are good enough to warrant the flashy colors). Always nice to have something unique. Maybe not quite the Czechmate Parrot model...unless you're either really that good or bad enough you need the distraction! Thanks again, Matt and Stuart!
  9. Agree with the guys above. From a mechanical perspective, I believe the P938 has a firing pin block, so if the hammer is pulled back far enough to not engage the sear and then slips and falls forward it shouldn't activate the firing pin without the trigger being released/engaged/pulled. Anyone else confirm the FPB design? I haven't tried this on the range with a non-FPB gun, but I'd imagine you'd need a very sensitive primer to get a primer ignition from a partial hammer fall.
  10. Definitely a mag wells and few grips that we don't have access to over here that I'd like to try. They have some aluminum grips for the TS that are stippled and arched I'm very interested in. I have the long, flat aluminum grips from CZC right now which work fine but I'll have to chop them shorter to fit a magwell. Looks like you spend about $80+ (USD) in shipping. Glad to hear the VAT tax isn't applied. That was another $75+ I was unsure about. Thanks for the input guys! Still be nice to see our domestic importers/suppliers coordinate something to distribute that cost...ah-hem. :oD
  11. USPSA # A84539 - let the competition begin in earnest!

  12. I'm pretty sure they use different primer magazines, at least according to the part numbers on Dillon's site. I don't have a 650 to test and see how close that primer magazine would fit on my SDB though. Part 22031 "Large Primer Magazine Assembly" ($8.50) for the SDB VS Part 22033 "XL650 Primer magazine, Large" ($10.75) for the 650
  13. I just started last year, so some advice from another newbie that's not too far down the path. My main focus was going slow enough I made the RO feel safe. Dry firing is the best way to practice the gun manipulation skills needed. Drawing from the holster and thinking about not getting your finger on the trigger too soon. Focus on the front sights. Be accurate more than fast. When you move your feet keep your finger off the trigger. Practice mag changes. Practice "If done, unload and show clear...hammer down and reholster." Once you get down the basics of the gun manipulation, then you start to get a good feel for the competition and flow of the match.
  14. This topic is still a pain...just drove around town to 4 LGS's and only two had some powders in stock and nothing in pistol powders. I'm holding out for WST or Clays to load 9mm minor and 45 ACP. Got my own SDB press all set up too. At least I'm set for Limited minor for the year so I can still enjoy the trigger time part of the hobby!
  15. Maybe if enough people expressed interest CZC or CZ-USA would do gather custom orders (monthly/quarterly?) after collecting payment via their regular methods and submit the collective order to CZ-UB. Hint hint. It'd be worth the wait since there are more than a handful of parts I'd be interested to try, and I haven't even gotten into rifles and shotguns yet!
  16. I've found a handful of parts that cz-ub carries on its website that czc and cz-usa don't carry (ts grips and other ipsc accessories). Curious if anyone knows about ordering from across the pond? It looks like the shipping is almost as much as the parts I want. Does czc or cz-usa allow customer orders thru them? Seems like there should be a better way to get accessto these parts.
  17. Thanks for finding the answer to that question! I just pulled my new tool holder out of the bag and thought they mistakenly put another part in! Glad these forums seem to have all the answers.
  18. Elevating the hobby of gunsmith to gun wizard! One of these days I'll have to shoot a match with an open rig...once my pocketbook can handle the "must have" factor afterwards!
  19. I put the CZC 1.5mm fiber front on mine and couldn't be happier. I like the bigger 1.5mm vs the 1.0mm since it's a little easier to see on the long sight radius. I forget the height but the CZC website (czcustom.com) has a lot of good info. You'll need a flat steel file to get it shaved down to fit in the slot, and I spent the couple bucks for the correct diameter front sight drill bit they have too. Rear rights I'd leave, personal preference though. Plenty of options either way - make it your own. Search the forum for CZ TS mods and you'll have plenty of hits.
  20. Ah, missed that link the first time through, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I must have gotten those on a range pickup since I haven't shot that brand before. Thanks! Bookmarking that AFTE site too.
  21. Good replies from both Six and Steve, thanks guys! I need to put some better recycling processes in my reloading.
  22. Six-shooter, can you tell me more about the case in the second picture? Berdan primed? I had a few of these cases and couldn't figure out 1) why they were so hard to deprime, and 2) why the primer pocket is larger than the standard small pistol size. Just curious...I haven't googled it yet since I didn't plan to keep those cases.
  23. I've seen the first two cases on your pictures. The first has a primer pocket too tight and needs to be swagged as everyone mentioned. The second was harder to deprime and then the primer pockets were too big and the primers wouldn't seat. I ended up tossing these in the garbage, not worth the time and added tools to make them work for me.
  24. +1 on 147s tumbling, I shot a few hundred lead flat point that probably weren't perfect diameter (back when the shortage was really bad) and got a handful that key holed.
  25. My local gun shop has a nib shadow target in stock..he's been waiting for me to buy it but I've already got a tactical sports to entertain myself! Let me know if you want his contact info!
