  1. I'm told I've been added to the list of writers who will get one of the first examples from the first batch that comes out for review. Very interested.
  2. Why oh why did they put a 4.5lb trigger in it when the Hyperfire competition trigger is more like 2lbs. and some change... I'd really like to shoot it to see if that comp makes much of a difference.
  3. THIS. I actually did a detailed review of my Hunter's HD Gold glasses. They're fantastic.
  4. So here's what I'm doing to combat this issue in dryfire. When I start my dryfire, I do about three "warm-ups" where I draw on a target and pull the trigger 6 times. Then I move directly into my dryfire drills. Mentally, I'm telling myself "I've warmed up" and I expect 100% performance from myself after the warm-up. At matches, I do virtually the same thing at the safe table - draw on a target and pull the trigger 6 times as fast as I can, for 3 reps. Again, mentally I'm telling myself I'm warmed up - no excuses. It works pretty well for me.
  5. What is this +10 sorcery of which you speak??
  6. If you watch The video on the product page, Taran puts a magazine with his base pad in the USPSA “box” and it fits perfectly. I just got mine really like them.
  7. I'm trying to spread the word on a couple of Facebook Groups...
  8. I just registered. I saw there was an option for staff shirts on the Practiscore registration, but how do I order one of the match shirts?
  9. So why the name change for the match from the US Steel Nationals to the US Steel Shoot?

    Gray vs. Burke?

I can't speak to IDPA. However, the GGI trigger will be USPSA Production Division legal in approximately 3 months with the very recent rules change.
  11. Give Rio Target Load #7.5 1210fps a try. It's not much more than the Wally World stuff, and the shell casings have ridges which make them easier to grip and quad load IMHO.
  12. Well, he wasn't exactly enthusiastic. He just said that you sent him the book...I got the impression he felt somewhat obligated to mention the book on the show since you regularly put together classes for him at your home range. I was just interested in the fact that there was ANY book out there specific to Steel Challenge. I did listen to your first podcast episode yesterday...the road map you laid out sounds great. The production quality was also impressive for a first effort.
  13. Hi Ken, I heard about your book on Ben Stoeger's podcast - I'm currently reading it. I also plan to start listening to your podcast as I started shooting Steel Challenge last year. I had won several local "outlaw" matches before shooting my first Level I and Level II matches. in the Fall of last year. Fortunately, several of the clubs where I shot outlaw matches are switching to running sanctioned SCSA matches for 2018 so hopefully I'll get some Level I wins under my belt. I finished my year shooting the KY Steel Challenge State Championship where I shot both Carry Optics and PCCO - I finished 2nd in the CO division, and 14th out of 45 in the Main Match. In PCCO I came in 10th out of 22. I won my respective classes in both divisions, making A class in PCCO, and B Class in CO. I'd like to try and make A class in CO, and M in PCC this year. I'm signed up to shoot at the US Steel Nationals - I'm hoping to have a respectable showing in my classes, but I'm going in with no expectations - I'd just like the "major" experience. I should mention that I also shoot USPSA and 3-Gun. -John
  14. Any preference for the spray vs. the lotion?
  15. I've heard Max Michele and Ben Stoeger talk about using some sort of grip enhancing lotion or application before they shoot...Grip Pro? Pro Grip? Does anyone use such a product? Have any links to purchase it? -John
  16. Just wondering if there will be a prize table, and if you have to stay until Sunday to walk it? I'm registered to shoot on Saturday.
  17. Any info on the registration process this year? Practiscore shows that registration opens in one week.
  18. I would just be pleased to see the World Shoot out of CA, but yeah I'd like to see it come out my way (Ohio) on alternating years. How the heck do you even have a match in CA now with their laws??
  19. Very, very cool. I just shot the Kentucky State Steel Challenge match and walked away with three medals - two gold class medals, and one silver division medals. This just cemented my decision to shoot Nationals in the Spring.
  20. Any information on awards that will be given out at 2018 US Steel Nationals?
  21. What about PCC? You can't even buy a 10 round mag for many popular platforms...SIG MPX, CZ Scorpion, etc....
