  1. Wow...I thought we had it tough when I shared my cart with ONE buddy last weekend.
  2. In my case, I've made due for the past year or so with 16" Colt 6940P that's more well outfitted for tactical, defensive work. As mentioned above, I recently ordered a Colt CRP-18 which is among the more premium options in the "race ready" rifle segment. The Armalite was a close 2nd for me.
  3. I recently went through the decision making process of buying my first dedicated 3 Gun shotgun. I ended up choosing the Benelli Performance Shot M2 3 Gun Edition. Since the M2 3 Gun Edition has been updated for 2016, I went ahead and did a photo review in hopes that it might help others in the community: Review of the Benelli Performance Shot M2 3 Gun Edition - ThruMyLens Enjoy - and do let me know your thoughts on the review. As of this writing there's virtually no information out there on the newly updated model.
  4. After weighing the decision to either buy a gun cart or cobble my own together, I opted to go the do-it-yourself route. The project was so successful I decided to write an article about it in hopes I could help other folks new to the sport. Let me emphasize that I'm not at all mechanically inclined. Only the most basic of tools were used. Build Your Own Gun Cart For 3 Gun Competition - ThruMyLens Enjoy - and do let me know your thoughts on the article.
  5. While I don't necessarily disagree, the argument could also be made that if you have what it takes for "3 gun greatness" almost any old rifle will do. That $300.00 difference can go a long way toward an entry level optic. It's a bit of a chicken and egg - some folks don't know if they have both the passion and the skill for 3 gun until they try it. Most won't buy premium equipment until they know the passion...the desire is there. So many folks buy "starter guns" and I think the Stag 3G has been quite popular in this regard.
  6. I'm not sure that it's best value or best outfitted. The Stag 3GN is probably the better value. The Colt is better equipped. What does the Stag have on the Armalite? Besides the non adjustable gas block, non tunable muzzle brake that everyone hates, non adjustable stock, trigger that many people don't care for and a handguard that I personally don't care for?It can be had for less money. I can get a DPMS M4 wannabe for $700. By your logic, clearly this is the best choice. Same as Kia's trump BMW's because they're cheaper. Everyone knows this. <Sigh>You asked what the the Stag has on the Armalite and I said that it could be had for less money...it's perhaps a better value as I originally indicated. Value is only one attribute. It may be the only deciding attribute for some, or it may be one of many. However, your analogy demonstrating "my logic" is clearly flawed. Quit while you're behind.

  9. Good question - best to call Bold Ideas/Colt Competition.
  10. How did you do that? I think I've about had it with the ELS system - Tek Lok seems so much easier. I've ordered a CR Speed belt which is 1.5" Can you post any photos?
  11. So I bought a pair of CR Speed Versa Mag Pouches for use on an ELS belt. I didn't quite understand that the CR Speed pouches were fixed to 1.5" belt sizes....woops. Given the popularity of the ELS system, I HAVE to believe there are some belt adapters that could be purchased which would allow these mag pouches to fit a 1.75" ELS belt. Does such a thing exist?
  12. Lately SGAmmo has been cheaper than Target Sports USA on shipped cases. 1k of Wolf Gold is $315.00 shipped from SGAmmo which I've found to be as good as PMC .223.
  13. The first link you provided is for a CRP-18EC - the California legal version of the CRP-18, which is why it's so cheap. The second is OOS. -John
  14. If you have any photos of yours, I'd love to see them. Am I correct that there is no way to remove that canopy without cutting it off?
  15. Well, here's the assembled product - thanks for all the advice: Should I try and dremmel off the canopy?
  16. I actually just ordered a CRP-18 today. Colt Competition/Bold Ideas is tremendously back ordered right now. It may take 30 days to get it. There have been some significant changes/upgrades to the 2016 Gen 2 models:
  17. Unfortunately that shotgun bag won't accommodate a 24" barrel.
  18. Alright...you convinced me. I hunted around ebay and craigslist and couldn't find a used stroller for a good price, so I ended up just buying a new one for a hundred bucks off of Amazon. The Kolpin grip mounts were another $60.00. But I still saved about $140.00. Thanks!
  19. I'm looking at the following cart that, with shipping, will run about $300.00: http://www.ruggedgear.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=308/category_id=178/mode=prod/prd308.htm It seems to be my only option for a ready made product (I'm not a do-it-yourself kinda guy). Are there any other options out there? I've been searching and can't find anything new or used. Admittedly, the above looks to be a baby jogging cart converted for 3 gun use.
  20. Lots of good feedback here - thanks!
  21. What are you guys using to transport your rifle, shotgun, pistol and associated stuff to matches? I'm surprised at how few of choices there are. Midway USA seems to make a nice one for 70.00. Any others out there?
  22. OK. So I ordered a Nordic +6 extension, and the Tac Com clamp. I may come back to the Tac Com tube - thanks again.
  23. OK - sound advice. I don't suppose you could recommend a magazine tube? I'm not adverse to buying a couple of different sizes. Midway has Nordic on sale right now. Also, I see some people saying to skip the tube clamp? Thoughts?
  24. I placed the order yesterday. I won't ship until next week. So think I have time to change my mind. I'm just trying to understand what I've bought.
  25. OK...so I received the following on from George Thompson, Senior Product Manager-Benelli: RCI is the current Performance shop builder on the M2 3 gun edition. It was changed and updated for 2016. Those changes include Mag well cut for Quad Load (new), Modified carrier (same as before), Large bolt handle and bolt release (Now RCI, were Nordic), Hi viz front sight (same as before), XS rear sight dovetailed into the rib (new), Shell caddy (new) RCI Follower installed (was Nordic before) and the change to only a 24" barrel option. There is no trigger work, or inertia system work--impossible to make the best better! So I'm having trouble identifying anything that TSS did that RCI is not, but it appears the significant changes in 2016 are: 1. Barrel length increased from 21" to 24" 2. Loading port now even larger for quad loading 3. Shell Caddy Some components have changed from Nordic to RCI...not sure if that's good, bad, or simply personal preference. Thoughts?
