  1. Wow. This is all quite confusing. Sounds like there are several different variants of this 3 Gun Edition M2 out there. It sure would be nice to know what each custom shop actually did do. I'm trying to get some additional information from Benelli regarding the modifications RCI is doing. However, I have learned that there are some signficant differences in the latest version of the 3 Gun Edition: -It now comes with a 24" barrel. -The loading port has been further cut out to allow for quad loading. -The sights are "different." -Shell caddy
  2. New update. So apparently the work is now being done by RCI (Roth Concept Innovations). Do they do good work?
  3. OK, so I called Triangle Shooting Sports and confirmed that they are in fact no longer the custom shop doing the work on the Performance Shop M2 3 Gun Edition guns. The nice lady that I spoke with thought the last shipment they sent to Benelli of guns they worked on went out in November or December of last year. Now I need to check with Benelli and see if I can figure out who did the customer work on the gun I ordered. If anyone knows who Benelli selected to replace TSS, I'd love to know.
  4. Actually I'm simply trying to deconflict two different data points. Benny Hill has posted here on this site that his shop is who does the work on the Performance Shop M2's, and that essentially the only difference is the lightening of the bolt...which I could send to Benny to do for about another $100.00 I believe. You've also stated that Benny Hill is no longer doing the "Performance Shop" work on the Benelli 3 Gun Edition M2. I've not seen anything else about this so I'm obviously curious. If Benny Hill isn't the custom shop of choice for Benelli on these guns, who is?
  5. Good thoughts to be sure - I appreciate it. I've actually ordered the Performance Shop model - it was $1500.00. At that price, I just don't think I can go wrong. If your right, and I progress to the point where the gun is holding me back, I can make further upgrades to it or sell it and either way still be fine on the cost. This gun will replace a Remington Versa Max Tactical I've been using at the local tournaments I've been shooting in. I'm not sure at this point with my skill level and the amount of time I can dedicate to it that I can justify going "Big Willy" on a top tier shotgun - I'm not headed to the 3GN Nationals any time soon.
  6. Source please? I've read elsewhere that the custom shop M2 is nearly identical to what Benny puts out. I can buy this gun at a steep discount so it's my preferred choice. Sent from my iPad Pro using Tapatalk
  7. No, the 922r import restrictions come into play and complicate the matter. As Kurt mentioned there are a few good smiths that put out a good race ready M2 that will be a better value. Under normal circumstances you would be correct but I'm eligible to purchase this gun at a substantial discount. So I do need to buy an extension tube, correct? Can I do this through Benelli or should I call Nordic? Sent from my iPad Pro using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, they have a $250.00 "convenience fee" which is as understandable as it is undesirable. I'd buy a Benelli M2 3 Gun Performance Center before I'd buy that.
  9. Wow...these are expensive. I called....$2500.00 for the 24" model.
  10. I wanted to revive this thread and see if there were any folks here who had purchased the Benelli 3 Gun Performance Center model and had any hands on experience with it. Did they get the extension tube issue worked out? -John
  11. For the past several years I've used the Surefire Shot Timer app on my iPhone and iPad with GREAT success. When I upgraded to the iPhone 6s a few months ago, I noticed the app went missing on my phone...checked the app store, and it's gone. Does anyone know what the story is here as to what happened to this GREAT app? There are a couple of other shot timer apps in the app store. So far I've tried Innovative Applications "Shot Timer" (it looks suspiciously close to the Surefire App...wondering if they bought it?), Make Ready(both lite and paid), and AIPSC Timer. All seem to suffer from the same issues - either they don't register any shots or they register every sound as a shot. Logic says at least one of them should work, and my results were likely user error. I've tried configuring the microphone sensitivity of the apps to no avail. I even tried taking off the case on my phone to see if that helped. So is anyone out there successfully using one of these apps?
  12. The 21" M2's are just about unicorns until just recently. Most took months to get after ordering. Just about any LGS that stocks a decent stock of Benellis would have 24 & 26" field guns in stock. Because you could not get 21" Benellis easily most dealers order Berettas in 21" when everyone wanted 24" barrels. The M2's run about just under $1300 plus any mods. So what barrel length is optimal for 3 Gun?
  13. I'm curious - why is the Field version of the M2 the one that is recommended? Also, what's a good price to pay for this model?
  14. Anyone out there have any good options for mounting a sling (for use in classes) on a Versa Max Tactical? On that doesn't involve sending the gun off to have work done?
  15. Indeed it was a great training class. My optic is a Deltapoint and my class partner's is an RMR. 1. Communication 2. Communication 3. Communication
  16. Good morning, I finished Part I of my two-part video series on TDI's Partner Tactics course I recently took. Enjoy and do let me know your thoughts:
  17. I've been testing this one for about a month and really like it so far. Here's a link to my photo review (with a video supplement): Review of the Remington Versa Max Tactical on ThruMyLens Enjoy - and do let me know your thoughts! Many thanks to the members of this form whom answered many questions from me over the last month or so about this shotgun.
  18. Thanks guys - used plyers on my leatherman and it came out. I was sure there was some button or relase.
  19. I'm trying to clean my VM Tactical and unfortunately the manual which is generically written for all VM variants doesn't specifically address an issue with removing the bolt on the tactical version. I've taken it down as far as I can go, including removal of the trigger group. But I can't figure out how to remove the bolt without removing the charging handle (which blocks it from being pushed forward and out) nor can I figure out how to remove the charging handle. If I'm right about needing to remove the charging handle, can someone explain or point me to a video/photo reference on doing this, or explain it? If I'm wrong about needing to remove the charging handle, can someone explain how to revove the bolt on the VM Tactical?
  20. I'm not seeing any good disassembly videos/tutorials on the VM Tactical. On a non-tactical version, you simply unscrew the plug on the magazine tube, remove the receiver, followed by the barrell. But do you have to remove the clamp on the magazine extention and barrell to get the extension off? I'm not quite "getting it. Any help appreciated.
  21. I more than likely will put an Aimpoint PRO on my VM. I'm cross-eye dominant - tough to shoot a long gun that way with iron sights. I'm also not convinced that lttle fiber optic rod isn't going to fall out...it seems to pop right out when I press on it.
  22. I suspected as much....just wondered what the thought process/purpose it was designed for is.
