  1. A bunch of us in PA got cooling vests this year .They use a gel ice pack that lasts about 2 hours and will re-freeze in a cooler of ice in about 40 minutes
  2. any updates on this? Would love to pick one up
  3. None of those things involve throwing away your previous gear because the new rule made it less competitive except 8 round revolvers...and even if they did, obsoleting a $65 holster or slide stop is a lot different from making a country full of multi-thousand dollar Limited guns suddenly less competitive.
  4. That's the biggest issue, making all the current 40 guns useless. You'd have to put a mag capacity limit on it, not just mag length, then 40 minor guns would be viable.
  5. pics from the left side of the gun while holding it in one and two hands would help

    Q5 Poly vs Steel

I shot the SF for the first time last week and immediately ordered one. My q5 is for sale. It feels like a turd now
  7. I'm not understanding what you are saying. The pace people would shoot a classifier stage at a major match is much different from the hero or zero type situation a classifier at a local match puts them in. This is always why the 18 series of classifiers was relatively easy...because the scores were set at nationals where people are not necessarily going 110% on every stage. That match is a marathon.
  8. The problem is that your premise and your solution do not align with each other. Putting a classifier in every level 2 match will do nothing. If anything, it will keep people's averages down, as they will not be willing to Hero or Zero a stage at a major match.
  9. What do you think the classifier system is for? In general, this isn't a problem except in one division, because one company is offering cash, and the system is going to work itself out via match bumps. The great majority of other shooters aren't purposely hiding in a lower class because they want a $6 trophy. At least in my group of friends they would rather be struggling as a new master or GM as opposed to winning every match in A or B class.
  10. Is it exploiting it? I mean from the outside it looks funny that a B class guy is trashing most people in Carry Optics but if you look at his record it makes sense. Until this year he shot mostly production and open and is very close to Master level in both. This year he switched to CO, and is clearly working very hard, but has shot almost no classifiers. No reason to if Walther is going to be sending checks every month
  11. This wouldn't change anything related to sandbagging. At a Level 2 match I'm not going to try to blast a classifier at my max "omg let's try to hundo this" pace. I'm going to shoot it so that I get a good number of alphas and don't trash my match by zeroing it.
  12. Sort of related but...get a paster gun. Then you only have to take your gloves off to shoot.
  13. I wasn't around prior to the 2008 (I think) rulebook so it had to be from before then...because you can't do that
  14. Yep. Setup is actually harder because you have to measure it out. People seem to like it though, there are over 1150 people so far this year
  15. Sarge, it's the Go Fast Don't Suck Postal match. The match this entire thread is about. It helps when clubs set the stages up correctly
  16. What year was that? Had to be more than 15 years ago
  17. If you put the muzzle on the edge of the holster and push down, you can do it with any holder
  18. Yep. It's not that hard. Amazing what some people will do
  19. 8.5.2 If a competitor holsters a loaded firearm or places a PCC on a stable surface at any time during a course of fire, it must be placed in the applicable ready conditions (see Section 8.1). Violations will be subject to match disqualification (see Rule 10.5.11). 8.5.2.2 For double action self-loaders and revolvers the hammer must be down, or, if present, the safety applied if the hammer is cocked. Applicable ready condition: 8.1.2.2 “Double action” – chamber loaded, hammer fully down or de- cocked.
  20. Well you have a reason for it. I'm not sure if most seem to shoot that way because we are English language readers and our eyes are used to moving in that direction or if it has to do with most people being right handed and that's the order we shoot on turn and draw stages
  21. Mention it to the section coordinator so hopefully he can educate them. I don't know how you can have been around for long enough to be a CRO and not seen this classifier about 400 times....and probably 90% of the people shoot it left to right
