  1. It's helpful for stage planning, figuring out when to move and shoot vs when not to, activator sequences, etc. At least it was for me in the beginning....although there were almost none here when I started. I watched a lot of video then.
  2. My advice would be to start attending matches other than your own match that you run and win. Get a feel for how the local "pros" are shooting and what you need to work on. If any of them offer some coaching on the side, book a day with them, otherwise, find a USPSA oriented instructor to get you started. As others have said, Ben Stoeger has a bunch of media on his youtube page, some are clips of his full classes, some are just rants. Filter out the good stuff (it's very good) and avoid the range politics and his content is terrific. Once you know what do practice and how, dry fire 10-15 minutes a day. You don't need to spend 2 hours daily doing this. If you are gripping the gun hard and properly your hands will be sore after 15 minutes. Where are you located?
  3. So you never shoot any matches with pre registration?
  4. Yep. My CO mags are 24+1 to start, 23 reloadable. This is generally how we refer to capacity.
  5. That last few major matches I've shot it made up 0%
  6. Sorry I meant to delete that part of my post. At first I didn't realize I was looking at Open division scores and just scrolling down, saw Melody Line which had 0 hundos on file and knew that couldn't be right. User error.
  7. For some reason there are a bunch of Open classifiers with no good scores but in CO there aren't any. Should classifiers be based on theoretical performance or prior scores that have actually been shot?
  8. They don't fire out of battery. They have an unsupported barrel like a first gen glock
  9. Just looked again, there were 43 Masters too.
  10. There were 43 CO Experts at FL State this weekend.
  11. The most important thing is that it's reliable. I'm in a FB group for Prodigy owners and those things seem to be hit or miss. Good luck
  12. The gun doesn't matter too much, but if you like it more and that makes you want to handle it more and train with it more then it matters. A Rolex doesn't tell time better than a Casio (actually, it's worse) but people still like them.
  13. Looks like this year it's a level 1 with 10 stages for $150. In 2021 when I shot it it was $275. Not sure if it was a Level 2 then or not.
  14. Being the most expensive match and not receiving value in return for the fee.
  15. The most expensive Level 1 (or even 2) match in the country, and Shannon Smith is no longer the MD. The shooters caught on to their scam last year and this year although they reduced the price a ton has not bought back a lot of good will. I don't think they run local matches there anymore either so there is no local group of dudes to show up and pad the numbers either.
  16. The guy was caught, then admitted to wrongdoing...what did you expect ?
  17. The light must be functional in Production, CO, SS and (lol) revolver
  18. If you're not using it for CO/Production or IDPA you can take the firing pin safety out. One less thing to get jammed inside the slide.
  19. It is very close to the limit. Using plastic grips and lightened guide rod
  20. That's weird. There's not much to grab on to, and you'll probably ruin it if you try this, but try grabbing the end of the firing pin and rotating it. If the FP safety is stuck somehow that may allow it to snap loose.
