  1. Agreed. I don't have calloused hands and the grip (two of them, actually) never "grated" my skin. It's a definite grip, once you grab on strongly, but it still allows for grip corrections if you loosen your grip on it. Great for humid days and sweaty hands. I've only used grip enhancer (liquid chalk) a couple of times this season, on particularly "drippy" days. Also, if you think it's too aggressive, take a file and *gently* round off the points until it suits you.s s (Wonder how anybody tolerates skateboard tape, which is pretty popular. "Eeew, it's so rough and raspy on my pretty hands" )
  2. Deja vu. Hasn't that already been said?
  3. Talk about overbearing and rules focused (in this case, somebody's rigid rules of life). That was both.
  4. Yeah, I remember. Seems we over-thought that one until it was moaning on the floor in pain, although it was a good exercise in ... overthinking!
  5. Moto, what would the second procedural be for? The first error was an extra shot. What is the second error - only one shot on T3? There isn't a procedural for that, I don't think, unless we want to get real funky and argue that it's a violation of the WSB, but he already did that and was penalized for it. To force him to fire two shots at T3 on the second pass (as required by the WSB) after already having overshot it on the first pass would be to force him to make another (unintended) error of an "extra hit", which he didn't do, and to accumulate even more penalties for actions he didn't do in the first place.
  6. Sorry, shouldn't have said "corrected" by itself. I meant he fixed his error by firing only one shot. He didn't nullify the "extra shot" error. My recollection is that we count extra shots at the firing line and extra hits at the target. He had an extra shot at T3 in the first part of the string, before the reload; that's a penalty. However, when inspecting the targets after ULSC if there isn't an extra hit on any target (e.g., 4 hits per target) there's no "extra hit" and thus no second penalty. Make sense?
  7. I'd say just one procedural. He fired an extra shot during the pre-reload pass, then corrected it on the second pass. Stacking would be like four shots on T1 and two on T2, reload, two more on T2 and four on T3. So, one penalty for the extra shot before the reload. There's no provision for penaltes for too few shots. And from what you wrote, there were no extra hits, so no penalty there.
  8. Acetone is a great solvent (and dries clean), but watch it on anything other than metal, like grips, optic fibers, etc. Eats them.
  9. If you have a Cheely mount it's offset (to the left) on purpose, to provide additional clearance for the ejected brass. Others may do it too. It works fine, not a problem.
  10. It's pretty easy to check for stepped brass without reading every headstamp. Take an MTM .45 Auto 100-round ammo box, dump a bunch of 9x19 cases in it, shake it around. Most of the cases will fall into the holes with the case mouth up. Take a small flashlight and scan it across the rows of cases, looking into each case, and you'll see the steps pretty easily. Faster to do if they've been cleaned. For the few cases that land with the headstamp up, just read the stamp. You can also check quickly for the .380s (too short) and .38 super/.40 s&w (too tall) by scanning across the rows of cases. You can do 1000 in a few minutes.
  11. Are you putting 6.4 gr of Titegroup in a 9mm case? Why on earth? That's a very fast powder and not right for 9 major. Hodgdon lists 4.4 gr as max for a 9mm 124 gr bullet at 1136 fps. To get 1385 fps (171 pf) you'd have to use 5.7gr, and you're talking 6.4 gr. I think you're looking at very high pressures and possibly pressure spikes. Also, it has less volume than the slower powders and won't work the comp very well at all. I'd vote "no way" and recommend working with WAC, HS-6, n350/3n37 and the like.
  12. Since we're being very specific here, we should start with PCC 5.2.1, the rule set that covers how the PCC may be carried/handled. 5.2.1.5 outlines how PCCs are to be cased and uncased, so that's already covered. PCC 10.5.2.1 is in the Match DQ/Unsafe Gun Handling section of the rules that provides examples of unsafe gun handling, and it doesn't give any indication that it refers only to the act of casing/uncasing. It includes DQ rules for (1) "failing to point the muzzle at a side berm or back stop during casing or uncasing" or (2) "sweeping any person with the muzzle of a PCC, whether loaded or not, even if a chamber flag is inserted" and (3) states that all other gun handling with the PCC must be done in a safety area or under RO supervision. That doesn't need to be interpreted, just followed.
  13. I'm guessing it's because you don't "handle" the pistol while adjusting the dot - it's captured in the holster and is immobile (you can't wave it around), and the trigger is covered and unavailable.
  14. I think he may have meant "lose the slings", as in don't use them. Probably a good idea.
  15. Barrels vary in velocity, we're told. Also popple holes subtract about 1% in velocity per hole, so that's perhaps 0.5 gr powder in a 4-hole barrel, compared to no holes.
  16. 3 x 170, 3 x 155, 2 x 140 (MBX) and a couple of old-style STI 140s for practice, classifier reloads, and dropping in mud. I usually carry 3 mags per stage. Probably more than I need, but what the hey...
  17. Good customer service. Hope it works out.
  18. Have you had an RTS2 on this gun before? Are you using the same mount, and did it work fine before?
