  1. That's pretty clear, then. Sounds like a wrap. Let's alL meet at DQ and have an Orange Julius .
  2. She wasn't DQd for "unzipping a case". It was for sweeping her hand while removing the gun from the case. None of the actions mentioned above are DQs under the rules in Chapter 10. Sweeping the body is specifically a DQ if done during a course of fire (10.5.5). If done outside the COF (e.g., in a Safety Area), what rule does it come under? General violation of safety rules (10.3.1), like Cooper's rules #1 and #2? Unsafe gun handling? Myself, I believe it's inherently unsafe to sweep yourself, and it's not hard to keep from doing it. Are you going to have two (or more) different safety rules, for different occasions? Are you sure it's unloaded? No mag, but one in the chamber? Are you so confident that you'd point the gun at yourself and pull the trigger? Really?
  3. He's probably done something like that himself.
  4. I only had 4. I feel so inadequate ..
  5. Because any shot fired after ICHDH is given is automatically a DQ. Let's stop trying to "game" everything, shall we? (or talk it to death ...)
  6. Nope. At least, mine doesn't. Stays right at the setting I put it on.
  7. Oops - was this supposed to be an IM? Perhaps to a different member?
  8. Pride in ownership? Bragging rights?
  9. I have a CK Hardcore 9mm, runs well and is reliable.
  10. I've been shooting 7# in my .38sc for a couple of years, 8# in my 9 major. Both 170-172 PF. Weights selected for best dot control. No problems with either.
  11. Published on the USPSA website or in Front Sight magazine (in the NROI column). Also in the Multibriefs?
  12. ... and circular logic is what we're really good at here on BE (and appealing penalties) .
  13. I'm having the same problem with 9mm/9major - too many cases crushed in Station 1. Thoughts?
  14. Yes, but that makes the first step more awkward. I'm not sure how much time that saves for us mere mortals.
  15. Yeah, but is that really going to help you? Really?
  16. So if a downed popper (say the new ones that aren't hinged) falls completely off its stand but rests sideways on the ground so you can't re-"engage" it (or "calibrate" it), is that now a REF? Isn't this fun? Silly, but fun
  17. Yep. That particular ruling is one if the wierder parts of our sport, but at least it's understandable.
  18. That's what we've been trying to say. ..
  19. There is no calibration zone on a downed target, is there? It's down, can't be calibrated.
  20. I say it's BS to the max to argue that a target that's been engaged and has fallen to the ground (and had gotten you an alpha) can be "engaged" again. You're not "engaging" it to gain points (you can't, there are no points available), you're trying to cheat the stage.
  21. You might rotate it so it sits right between your fingers for both right- and left-hand grip.
  22. I'm using the Evo (on two guns) with the Dawson Posi-Lock mag release (IDPA length) and the fan-shaped STI button. Have also used the round button. No problems with either.
  23. This convoluted thinking is what we end up with when we design convoluted stages with time-waster moves and "trick" props. Just the thought of what "before engaging the last target" might mean boggles the mind - is it "the final target that hasn't been shot at yet on the stage" or "the last target the shooter actually shot at" or "the last target the shooter shot at and actually hit" (in the case of steel). I figure that anybody who bypasses the boxes-on-barrels should get a penalty for each one, regardless of whatever dodges or tricks (i.e., gaming) he pulls (and have to balance the penalties against running the stage really fast) - but how do you say that in the WSB? I'm going to go take a Tums and try to solve a Rubik's Cube. It's easier.
  24. I've used both Grams and TTI internals with success. In my 170s TTI got me one more round (30 loadable, 29 reloadable) and is reliable. As usual, YMMV.
  25. Yep. And that's $48 for a 10-stage major match. The same as you'll spend for a 300-round practice session at $160/k for the ammo. This ain't exactly a cheap hobby.
