  1. You can lose a FO rod in 3000 rounds of vigorous firing for a variety of reasons. Put another one on and keep on shooting
  2. I use the tiny scissors on my small Swiss army knife to cut the fibre. Something thin and sharp, like a razor blade or X-acto knife, would probably work well. Want to cut it, not crush it.
  3. I believe C-More will replace an pre-V4 board at no charge. It may take a couple of weeks; call them to make sure.
  4. ^^This. I think we have an "urban myth" going here.
  5. No, it's only a story. 40k+ rounds on Titegroup (9mm, 40 S&W), never a problem, good fiber life. They do break occasionally due to handling and abrasion, and so I replace them once a year as a matter of course.
  6. Its okay. You'll feel better in time.
  7. Sorry. Maybe the Nikko Sterling is supposed to break if you don't solder it up. But it's not the RTS2.
  8. Yeah. I put 400 rounds under one of my RTS2s on Saturday, then 250 Monday and 150 today. It has around 5k rounds on it. At what point is it supposed to break?
  9. Wikipedia says 17-20 kg, or average 284,000 grains. At 1 fps, wouldn't that be a PF of 284? Heavy metal (or rock, as it were)!
  10. Wonder what the power factor of that huge, slow-moving stone might be?
  11. Limited doesn't need to be fixed. That's what 30+ other posts are saying.
  12. Let's add a "macho major" division for those stalwart lads who want to feel the masculine intensity of 175+ PF (and brag about it)
  13. Heck, just give them the fabled Winnebago, to make them feel good
  14. Again, what problem is this supposed to fix ... in one of the most popular Divisions?
  15. What problem will that solve? Again, there are plenty of places to shoot 9mm in USPSA (Prod, SS, CO, Revo, and even Lim, Lim10, & Open, if so inclined).
  16. Using actual USPSA score data from 2016 Limited Nats (October 2016), there were 26 listed shooting minor out of 294 entries (8.84%). The highest of them was 63rd (70% score), then 83rd, then 128th and downward. The 2016 Limited Nats equipment survey had 90% shooting 40sw, 9% 9mm, and 1% 45 ACP. 63% shot 180 gr bullets and another 15% shot 200gr. Can't really see how Major is falling out of favor in the sport, overall. It'll be interesting to see if there are any "major" changes this year (Iron Sight Nats, in September).
  17. Can you say more about the pressure spikes? Hadn't heard about that, was about to try 3n38 in 9 major (as an alternative to 3n38 due to case capacity).
  18. Moto's not the troll. He's not the pugilistic newbie on this forum who seems to want to fight with anyone who disagrees with him. He's an established member who has definite opinions, certainly, and who can back them up with real data and experience. He hasn't come to someone else's house and insult everyone.
  19. No, it isn't. It's "single-subject" research with real data, which is far better than unsupported assertions and straw-man arguments.
  20. If you declare Major but chrono Minor, you get Minor points (your score is recalculated as Minor). If you chrono sub-minor, you shoot for fun. (Appendix C2 / 39 & 40)
  21. Ok, I'll bite. Please tell us the specific instances of somebody being shot by a (supposedly unloaded) gun in a holster or in a case at USPSA. "Hysteria", really?
  22. What is "all this about the RTS2"? It's a shooter (or two) who says they're having a problem. The hundreds (or thousands?) who have no problems with their V4s aren't starting posts - they're truckin' down the road and sending rounds downrange. For me, mine never hiccupped all day at the SNS 400. I sometimes left it on for a couple of stages at a time, other times turned it off, back and forth, never a problem. I leave them on during 2-3 hour practice sessions and daily dryfire, replace the battery when they start getting dim. What's the problem?
  23. I have 3 V4s and have no problems with any of them.
