  1. Finally, a concise answer. Let's all go to the range and waste some ammo ... er, practice!
  2. Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about how great it is to be able to do what we do, and I'm going to add that 5 minutes of active appreciation to all my matches. You never know when it might end.
  3. The grip should be a slight interference fit (about .001"), so it sounds like you're good.
  4. Almost had 9 once, before fully stepping forward into the shooting area. (They talked about it, said it didn't create an advantage.) Thought that was bad, but 11 ... much sympathy.
  5. My gun is only an ounce or two over the limit. What would it hurt to allow it in USPSA? It's artificial competition anyway, isn't it?
  6. Agree on RO training. It'd a good thing all around. But what's this about an "unsafe location" to stop a shooter (and letting him complete fully half of the COF before stopping him)? Come on! Just say "stop" and get on with it.
  7. Doesn't work very well at all on Android. Displays badly.
  8. The 9x21 is a longer case and has more volume, can be loaded to little longer OAL. (Per SAAMI, 9x19 case is .754" long, volume 13.3 gr H2O; 9x21 is .833", 15.6 gr H2O.) But, 9mm major is basically a "wildcat" cartridge, so we're not going to see much published load data (if any). I load 9 maj with 124 gr PD or MG, 8.6 gr 3n38, 1.170-1.175" OAL, SR primers, cases sized with a U die (so they grab the bullet tightly). 171 PF. No problems.
  9. I'm guessing the first RO wasn't sure, and so they went to ask somebody else (who also wasn't sure, because they hadn't called it, either.) That's usually not a good call, because he/she didn't really know what they saw. I'd say a warning might have been in order, but not a DQ.
  10. Yes, PD JHPs are about $19 more per thousand than coated lead, in bulk (2k or more). MG is about $26 more.
  11. It's been quite a bit of a thread. Beer sounds like a good idea!
  12. You're right, Moto, but we caught that one a while ago. See the most recent posts - I've got it now (I think).
  13. Yes. The NS is penalized once, as a NS, but not again as an extra hit. The shot that made up for the NS is penalized as an extra shot, but not as an extra hit. This is complicated, but simple. You can make 'em all up, but do it quickly.
  14. Okay - so for plain targets and hard cover, make them up (if you're quick). No-shoots, never mind. Is that right?
  15. Fooey. Thought I had a grand new strategy for classifiers there. "Well, it SAYS in 9.5.4.2 ..."
  16. Agreed that the OP was about hard cover, and we've pretty much resolved that. No shoots were mentioned later, when 9.4.5.2 was brought up, and that's what I was responding to. I'm wondering if anybody feels that no-shoot hits can be nullified, under the wording of 9.4.5.2, or whether it means that you can't penalize a NS hit twice in VC, as a NS and as an Extra Hit. I can get behind the latter.
